    The reason of the staircase situation with the overcrowding in the older section is probably because of the previous Coco Key waterpark. The other Coco Key in Massachusetts has the exact same layout, they’re practically identical to this Great Wolf Lodge’s waterpark. So, I’m pretty sure it’s not Great Wolf Lodge’s fault. Great resort and great video!!

      Many other water parks are guilty of the same thing.

  • @thecoasterflood
    @thecoasterflood 2 года назад +7

    That staircase situation is literary the exact same situation over at Adventure Island in Florida where if you wanted to ride the trap door body slide, you pretty much have to squeeze past everyone who all are waiting for the giant half-pipe slide.

    In the earlier 2000's when my kids were young, GWL was a pretty good value when you took a vacation package perspective. Particularly coupled with Cedar Fair Platinum Passes. They have many locations within about an half hour drive to most of the Cedar Fair parks. Back in those days, there were no day passes and we could frequently get pretty good rates. We've stayed at the GWL Charlotte (Carowinds), Williamsburg (Kings Dominion) Pocono Mountains (we did this on a trip to New York to visit family, but Dorney is less than an hour away), Sandusky (Cedar Point) and Mason, OH (Kings Island). Sandusky was the least favorite with the smallest waterpark and the least to do (No Magiquest or ropes course) and Mason was the family favorite maily because of it's proximity to Kings Island. Mason is also the only one we have done multiple times. I do recall on a trip to Canada's Wonderland we couldn't get a good enough deal to make the much longer drive from Niagara Falls seem worth while. I always wonder how the expansions with buying previous hotels and resort and converting them turned out, so thanks for the review.

      You're welcome! I had to go off peak for this one to make the price worth it.

    • @timk987
      @timk987 2 года назад +1

      @Olivia 757 That’s interesting. The Sandusky location preceded The GWL brand and opened as Great Bear Lodge. At the time my family visited it had been switched over to GWL but there still was no Magiquest. I don’t remember all the details but it was definitely smaller with less to do. Kudos to them if they’ve been updating it over the years.

    When you talked about how much it cost to stay there, it took me by surprise because the ones I've been to in Wisconsin Dells and Bloomington, MN are no where near that much. In fact if you and two friends split the cost of a two bed room, that's actually cheaper than paying for your own separate day pass (but remember prices may vary).

    • @CanobieCoaster
      @CanobieCoaster  2 года назад +1

      Fitchburg doesn't have too many hotels so maybe that's why they can charge that.

    • @kristinaXluvsXya
      @kristinaXluvsXya 2 года назад

      I think it's because they market it as Fitchburg/Boston, so everyone from the big cities come to stay here. We just paid over $1,000 for 2 nights at this one, in the middle of the week, and NOT during any vacations, qnd that was with a 30% off deal 😳 BUT we ended up having to get a junior suite, because every other room that would fit our family of 6 was booked.

    • @kristinaXluvsXya
      @kristinaXluvsXya 2 года назад +1

      Also adding, it was SO over crowded. I kind of wish they kept it as the Waterpark is only for people who book a room. I understand they would lose profit that way, but a lot of people we heard talking about never coming back due to just how many people were packed in.

    i just booked a double room here for $89/night, for 2 midweek off peak nights (with waterpark passes for two included). its way way cheaper if you sign up with the website, they email you codes every few months that go for up to 30-50% off. there's a $30/night resort fee tho. this place is super accessible via the MBTA fitchburg line too, i'm stoked for a cheap midweek getaway

    Just went there. It was pretty good in my opinion. I just think it’s missing one higher thrill attraction and it has a lackluster lazy river. If they were to do add another slide tower with something like mat racers and could find a way to connect the parks without leaving them, it would be higher up. Another positive is I went Sunday-Monday and we went 2 hours in and the wait was minimal. Overall I would give it a 7/10. Just missing one attraction to put it higher.

    My slides from worst to best is this: #6 otter run it’s slow. #5 Alberta falls right side it’s also slow. #4 river canyon run it made me feel sick. #3 Alberta falls left side. It starts slow but the drop is amazing. #2 wolf tail I didn’t go on it but I went on something similar at six flags great escape so it would place here. #1 howling tornado it’s drop is good and at night the lights are so good but in the day it’s still good it was my first funnel slide. (I got sick on river canyon run because when wolf tail broke down people waiting in line for it got to ride with us and I went backwards but if I wasn’t sick after it would have placed the same) you should try coming back during the day it’s a completely different experience

    I just went to the Niagara Falls Canada Great Wolf Lodge over the July 4th holiday week, and it was so much less money than Firchburg,MA. I also went to the Colombus Ohio Great Wolf Lodge 2 years ago . Both were larger, since they were built by Great Wolf .....not a coco keys park renovated. Massachusetts prices are beyond insane. I literally spent $1500 for a family of 3 including food for 5 days. In fitchburg I would spend that $1500 in 3 days admission NOT including any food.
