They did use auto tune for the Cher song. It was a tribute to her because she was the first artist to use it (in that song). They wanted to keep it authentic. ☺️
@@mamajenkins1981 Computer Love uses some talk box type of distort effect but not Auto-Tune. Auto-Tune was released in 1997 and I have not heard about any vocal correction software like it existing before that.
@@mitchscupcake Actually, at some point after I posted that, I read up more on the Cher song. There's some weird story that apparently the producer told people it was done with a vocoder, but in actuality it wasn't. It legitimately WAS the Auto-Tune software, which was pretty new at that time. They claim it was considered a trade secret that they didn't want other people to be able to replicate (I guess that didn't last long), which is why they lied at the time. I had no idea until I read that. I really DID remember the Vocoder story and thought it was the truth. I'm now assuming PTX actually used Autotune. It will be interesting to see what they do in concert with this.
“Cause what else have I got to do?” Same, girl, SAME!! The smiles! The arrangements! The editing! The outfits! The vocals! The vibe! Perfection! Totally danceable! I’m assuming they felt the freedom to use auto tune in nod to Cher who was the first to use it on a mainstream track. The first PTX baby has arrived!!
I am also a 2000s kid lol, but I loved this arrangement! They all looked GORGEOUS, and I agree, Kirstie and Mitch were very much in charge of this medley. I really loved the little vocal effects they added, and I like that they're doing more stuff with the production than they used to; it's a cool, new sound for them! Also, CONGRATS to Kevin and Leigh for welcoming their first child recently!!!!
They're definitely going all out for the studio tricks now, obviously in an effort to sound more authentic to the songs they're performing. This may be their best medley yet, or at least right up there with my all-time favorite Daft Punk. Now my curiosity is going crazy. Is this the leadoff single for a new covers album we haven't heard anything about? Or...MAYBE...could this be a Top Pop Vol. 1-like promo medley for a new album of all 90s dance song covers?? I would actually LOVE an album like that because that was my primary clubbing era. I am VERY interested in finding out where this is going!! And, yeah, that's so cool about Kevin having a little KO now!!
You could tell Mitch was having a great time! And using auto-tune in Believe was paying homage to Cher, the queen of auto-tune in dance music. This is the first song she used it in. Little bits of auto-tune in other tunes was fine for this kind of music.
I actually think that Mitch, Matt and Kevin carried this. Matt and Kevin lows and beats are so important for electronic music. In the other side, Mitch doesn't sing like a solo actually, he literally make all that crazy phrases and sounds that are so important to the pieces and he actually show a lot of range as u said. In one part, Scott was doing his solo and Mitch's harmony was close to the bass and in one of the Kristin's solos, he and Scott were doing something so perfect and tight, that not only show range, but versatility, dinamics and intelligence.
I do wish there was more Scott too, especially at the end I thought it was so good I really wanted more!! But I also totally agree with what you had to say about it, that totally makes sense! They all did great! 💙
Can we talk about how good Kevin was? he made us forget that HE does the percussion :D this made him shine, i'm happy about that.... and yes, Matt added the spice to the percussion, PTX never dissapoint. Te quiero Jessica :D :D
So funny to watch someone react that only knew some of the songs when I am sitting here knowing every single song intimately. And, yes, they did use autotune on a few of the songs in this medley. The originals used it and it just wouldn't be honest to the original if they didn't.
Have you checked out the side by side renditions of the originals against PTX's versions of the medley? (1) 90s Dance Medley - Pentatonix (Side by Side) - RUclips
Hi! Can you also react to SB19? They are from the Philippines. They just uploaded their latest MV entitled WHAT❓ the leader wrote, compose and co-produce the song. the youngest is the creative director and all of them choreographed the song too :) Fun fact: according to a friend of the production they have limited budget for this MV. The production is All Filipino. The scene on desert is actually Lahar , volcanic mudflow and not sand. All of it was shot Here in the Philippines. If you want to know their vocal skills try watchinng their Live performance of their ballad Song Tilaluha on TM Pusuan
Lol. You're an infant. Of course you didn't know these. :-) The vocal effect was a Vocodor. People mistakenly call it autotune (something else entirely).
"It's 90s songs, and I was born in 2001, so there's a chance I'll know a lot of these." Child, by the time you were old enough to appreciate music, it was already like 2010 and 90s music was approaching "classic" status 😂 (Cascada, by the way, was 2005 -- not sure why it was in this mix, but I'd understand if you knew that one at least 😜)
Mitch was smiling a lot in this, and a smiling Mitch is the best Mitch!
I agree!
I noticed too! I love seeing him smile
couldn’t agree more! it made me very happy :)

Computer Love by Zapp used autotune in the 80s

wow that’s so cool, i didn’t know that!
Guess they finally figured out how to do Cher's Believe.
Well, it needs a Vocodor. On purpose. :-)
such a good choice!

At 4:19 mi first example, when Mitch goes really low with his harmony.
At 3:48 his background craziness with Scott.
wow! i definitely agree with you!
Okay but can we talk about how Kirstin's look is an absolute serve?
she’s incredible
Mitch's smile is always the best in every music video and I absolutely love Mitch's expression as he sings, and his high vocals
me too :((
@@mitchscupcake when you said you were born in 2001 in the beginning of this video I was actually born in 2001 also.
loving the Madonna vibe on Kirstie ....

They did the “Home” medley during the lockdown.

I love this melody!!!!!!
hehehehe.....I was born in 1971 and this was my clubbing music in my 20's LOL
I'm a few years older, but SAME.
I was born in 1970 so it was mine too. In nightclubs on holidays in different European countries. The best times, young, ingle and child free🤣
@@fmcm7715 ahhhhh...those were the days LOL
I beatboxed and sang bass along with Matt and Kevin lol and it was fun also I was shocked when I saw this I almost cried it is beautiful
OMG why do I have soooo much energy NOW ?? LOL!! Love the "Cher effect" autotune use lol, great salute there. just fun!
omg realizing people dont know these songs makes me feel so old :((.
I know EVERY single song in this medley.... 🙂 #80sbaby

When the setup changed to blue - SAME, GIRL, SAME hahahaha
Auto Tune was also used with Mitch's voice with the "I'm Blue" segment..like the original song :)
This is gorgeous!
So sad RUclips didn’t send me a notification that you posted :( my bell is on

"She had, like, a whole child!" ... were you expecting, maybe, just half of a boy or girl?! 😊
