I am so glad that i came upon your video. I have been doing my digging so wrong for so long. Thank you for setting me straight. I cant wait to go digging with my new techniques.
@@thevinylvault can't wait for any future tutorials mate..maybe how to place albums in a bag...placing a record on the turntable, taking a record off the shelf...we need your expertness 👍🎶
When you check for a warp you are touching the playing surface with your grubby, greasy fingertips. A mistake only amateurs make as fingerprints are invariably VERY difficult to wash off AND there is always the risk of damaging the vinyl with a fingernail. I thought you said you knew what you were doing? 😕
I’m wondering how many of your subscribers are car boot sellers, they’ll be onto you now and anyone else that follows. What you don’t want is to become one of those record collectors that hover over you pointing out that you’re doing everything wrong. Or standing behind you huffing and sighing and looking at there watch. There’s a fine line between a happy and chatty record collector and one that’s gone over to the dark side, never to return.
Hi Vinyl Vault, sorry mate you can't teach a old dog new tricks mate. I hold a record by the edges with flat fingers or middle finger on the label and thumb on the edge, I don't touch the playing surface at all. As far as digging through records, I'm a slow mover, I just take my time. I'm sixty nine years of age and have been collecting since I was about twelve or thirteen. I still search at car boots and record fairs and also record shops in fact the whole shebang lol. Going over to the Team Valley in Gateshead on Sunday see if there owt there, good hunting youngun!
Pleased you stopped by. It's great to hear from the OG's and I have lots of respect for the original collectors. Unfortunately I was young when it All started and some of these records dropped before I was born. All the best and good hunting.
@thevinylvault 👍 I only watched the first couple of minutes to be honest. Did you have some good reggae 45s the other day? There was one on the Big Shot label at the top of the pile without covers, but you only showed the LPs.
😂thanks for clearing that up fer me superbrain!!!!!!
Oh, that's where I went wrong. I normally tip the crate contents directly onto the floor and then spread them out.🤣
I like your way better.
