Good morning, my Garden friends. I hope you are all having a beautiful morning. Today I will be prepping for my big Thanksgiving feast tomorrow. I wish you a beautiful and very blessed thanksgiving! And if you don’t celebrate Thanksgiving, I hope your day is amazing! And once again, thank you for taking the time to visit me! ❤️👍🥰Liz
Hi Liz, Happy Thanksgiving 🦃 I haven't seen any of your videos pop up and I was thinking about you. I hope you're doing well. I'm collecting the Drake Elm leaves in my front yard and will let them turn into leaf mold by summer. I hope you're ready for Christmas. I just uploaded a Christmas tour with my old treasures and stories. Take care ❤Peggy❤
Happy Thanksgiving Liz ❤❤❤ nice fall look around your place !! It's kinda chilly here and chance of rain later today. Started getting things done for turkey day so not as much to do tomorrow lol ❤❤❤❤
Good morning Mike it is actually raining in my area as well. And yes, I agree. prepping for Thanksgiving a day ahead of time is so smart. I will be doing the same today. Nice of you to stop by and say hello. 🥰👍Liz
Good Morning Liz, I too love all of the leaves. I don’t know if it’s just me noticing more but this year’s fall look around us is just so beautiful. I love to appreciate all of the fall colors and beautiful leaves everywhere. Your garden looks beautiful. Thank you for this video. Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family. ❤🙏🏼🦃🍁🍂
Good morning Diane YES fall this year in the Central Valley is spectacular! The Ginco and Chinese Pistache trees are definitely stealing the show in my neighborhood. Thanks for taking the time to visit me today. I hope you have a beautiful and blessed day! 😀👍❤️😇🙏Liz
Diane, I’ve always loved fall colors, but as I get older I appreciate fall even more! I’ve learned to love and anticipate the little things. Happy Thanksgiving, friends!🦃🍁🍽
Patty isnt amazing how we enjoy things more now as we get older. I remember when I was a little girl I was so scared of getting old. Now at age 62 I embrace it. Hahaha 😀😀😀Liz
I had an amazing thanksgiving Ginger. . . thanks for asking! I appreciate your nice comment. I LOVE that Chinese Pistache tree. It's even more beautiful now that ALL the leaves fell off. So many berries this year! 😃😃😃 Liz
Happy Thanksgiving to you, Liz. I couldn't agree more with you about the leaves. I have a Golden Raintree that blooms and changes with the seasons and I always look forward to the carpet of golden yellow tiny flowers and later the flamingo flowersprays which turn dark red. An Irish Garden book author that I admire said in her book "The Earth likes to be covered in leaves, think of it as being naked and defenseless". It needs the leaves for nourishment, to hold in moisture, to create a habitat for insects in the soil, beneficial mushrooms and worms you name it - so much happens without us thinking about it. I just learned that there are bees/butterflies/moths that borrow into the soil/leaves, not to mention the nests for the critters that seek warmth in the winter. Your tree is stunning - enjoy the wonders of nature.
Hello Rose You are so right, those little creatures are so busy under those leaves, it's amazing! I love your Golden Raintree and that quote you shared is so perfect, I will remember that one. ❤️🍂 I’ve tried to grow a golden rain tree many times, but could never get the seeds to germinate. You must have the perfect weather and conditions for it. Once again, I truly enjoy reading this comment and appreciate you taking the time to share. 🥰❤️Liz
Hey, Liz, nice to see you on today! Funny about those zinnias popping up. We have been getting some hard freezes but the sparkling icy bits are so pretty in the morning light. I am running around during the warm part of the day moving plants as I can and enjoying the respite from the extreme cold. Isn't this next week going to be gorgeous? I have some tulips to plant, but I will put them in pots on the porch so the heavy snows don't crush them when they begin to bloom. Beautiful video...🌹
Good morning Pam it’s nice to see you in your garden too. Yes it’s very funny about those zinnias popping up. So many of them, hundreds. Why couldn’t they do that in summer? Hahaha it’s very beautiful outside, but it is getting cold down here as well. I like to plant tulips and pots as well. That way I can move them around and out of the rain when it comes down. That’s a good idea Pam this year I’m going to try and grow allium. Every time I plant the bulbs and rotting. This year, I will put those in pots and see how it goes, appreciate you taking the time to comment. 🥰👍❤️Liz
Oh my goodness, the ginkgo tree leaves are absolutely beautiful. A heavenly carpet of gold. Happy Thanksgiving to you too Majellamaas and thanks for taking the time to visit me today. ❤️👍🥰Liz
Happy Thanksgiving Liz! Your channel is so inspiring and I love having the opportunity to be apart of your journey 😁 Thank you so much and have a blessed holiday!! 🪴🌺🦃
My dear Liz, I wish you a Joyful Happy Thanksgiving! I look foward to your viedos because I know they bring a relaxing feeling to my moods! I am thankful for many things including the time and beauty you extend to us! I love the look of the leaves on your property. They are natural and, yes they do benefit the wildlife. Many gardeners appreciate hosting wildlife in our yards. This year I became a member of the Federal Wildlife Habitat organazation! My next accomplishment will to become a registered Butterfly Way Station. It's so important for us to host gardens where pollinators can live, visit and be safe in. I enjoy the different birds, rabbits, bees and even a harmless snake or toad that show themselves sometimes! I am surronded by chain link fence so it's easy access for many! Again enjoy your Thanskgiving and thank you!
Oh wow June! I love that you're working to create a welcoming habitat for the pollinators and wildlife in your garden! If we were neighbors, I would want to put a little opening doorway between our fences. I remember making friends with my opossum that was visiting my garden. The little guy did me no harm. I love that you make friends with your visitors as well. Thank you for sharing this, I think you just inspired me to look into this and do more of the same, Happy Thanksgiving! ❤️👍🥰Liz
Happy Thanksgiving Miss Liz. Hope you have a blessed day. How magical does your front yard look with all the felled leaves it paints such a pretty picture of how the cycle of nature operates. Leaves are such an important part of a reproduction they contain nitrogen and yes they are great for mulch and compost. Growing up we had these huge maple trees on the farm and every fall we'd play for hours in mounds of red, yellow, brown leaves. The good old days of ole when outdoor surroundings were your entertainment.
Good morning Kelly! Those huge maple trees growing up sound like they added so much fun to your childhood. What a great memory!!! Yes I agree the simple things on life sometimes are the BEST and most memorable! Thank you for your lovely comment this morning! I have a fun visual in my mind of you jumping on and through that giant pile of leaves. 😀❤️👍❤️👍🥰Liz
Have you noticed just how many tan and blan neighborhoods there are these days? Color is disappearing in many yards! NOT MINE! Everything is so plain and sterile and uninteresting!
Yes, Kelly I have noticed that. I think because these days everyone has to work more and harder in order to keep up with life requirements and material things, So people have less time in the garden. So many kids these days don’t even realize they can grow their own food. We live in a world of fast and convenient. And of course, the public schools will never teach kids about gardening. Yeah, I guess you could say it’s kind of sad, but just like you I will never stop gardening and will teach all of my grandchildren, the simple ways of life, which, in my opinion are more rewarding in the end. 👍😇❤️
Morning Liz! I love the trees and leaves. My pet peeve are the tree trimmers who literally hack the tree up. Horrible! We can never have enough trees! ❤
Oh my goodness JoMarie know exactly what you’re saying. Especially the way they hack those crêpe myrtle trees. I called that crêpe murder! Hahaha thank you for taking the time to comment. 🥰👍❤️Liz
Happy Thanksgiving! Just a thought for a video; how about a plant trade video? In my area I belong to a local plant trade group that meets once a month and I get so many free plants. Do you have such a group in your area?
Oh my goodness Thea that is such a great idea. I will definitely look into that. I will inquire with my cities garden club. Thanks for the great idea and I hope you have a beautiful day. ❤️👍🥰Liz
