Sean Cox epitome of esoteric.A beautiful wrinkle in time that can't be replicated and should have ended with the world tour. As I now look back the band as a whole was genius Shields genius proved not with last release he no longer possessed creative ability, sticking to same formula of loveless exposing a pitiful weakness and tarnished genius. When adding everything up it damaged them greatly,Once thought of as legendary to not anymore. But I digress. K.S. It was recorded throughout the years between as well so who gives a fuck. Not every artists has to completely reinvent themselves every record.

I was just there, resting below a tree, appreciating nature and the blue sky of that sunny day, through the chaotic beauty of this album. I'm sure there are a lot of more "creative" ways of listening to this album, but I don't regret any second of that moment.
@@sethprops4404 I imagine he probably thinks the ideal way to hear their music is blasting at frightening volumes out of a stereo. Creates sonic pressure and a literal wall of sound you can feel in your body. MBV are good no matter how you listen to them though.

This song makes me wonder how Kevin Shields hears music in his head. This is unlike other music in terms of where the voice and instruments are combined with the unusual production techniques. There was an audio interview I listened to where he described "Soon" as being influenced by house music at the time.
Listening to sounds such as this make you feel as though it feels timeless. I feel it doesn't matter if you were born in the wrong decade or not, all that will matter in the end is how that sound connects to you on a spiritual level.
Same them in Sydney. All the crowd got given free earplugs cos we really needed them.I took mine out during the last song /feedback to see how loud it was! My brain nearly exploded.
Just finished reading Kevin's interview on Les Inrockuptibles. Really can't understand how most people, then, couldn't love this disc. It was simply a quantic leap from everything else since, and despite that, a natural evolution. A new breed. Loved it.
This soothes my headache, it's so enchanting. What was it like to those of you lucky enough to have grown up with them and seen them play live? Shoegaze is incredible magic, this feels like being on cloud nine ✨ Also, I feel that this song really needs to be heard LOUD to be able to take full effect 😅 Sounds amazing on a good headset or stereo
I even quitted to any kind of dr*gs after listening to Loveless. The full thing made me realize a lot of things. The most powerful sound I've ever heard.
When I was into H on my last merrygo round, I used to put Only Shallow and this track on as I prepared my fix. As soon as it hit, the music just becomes background sound and you miss out as your brain is flooded with dopamine and you lose interest in music. Becoming sober and hearing this music properly again is a truly beautiful thing.
Wake up, don't fear I want to love you Yeah, doll of pain I let you get to me Come back, don't be Afraid of me soon That I'll harm you Your eyes are blue, blue jewels Come back, have faith Someone like you Can find the reason Of what I did to you Wake up, don't fear I want to love you Yeah, doll of pain I let you get to me
Saw them with Dinosaur Jr, Mary Chain and Blur @ Brighton Centre. The floor shook for hours after they left the stage. That was a pretty brilliant night.
It was called the Rollercoaster tour. Saw them at Sheffield Arena. The security didn't have a clue what to do when the crowd threw all the seating out of the way to form a mosh pit. Awesome gig
I love this song. I've been playing it over and over again. I found about this band on another channel that plays vinyl records a few weeks back. Glad I was watching/listening at that time to find out about them. The bass line on the chorus makes this song. It has a bouncy feeling to it. A very timeless song! Thanks "My Bloody Valentine" for a beautiful song! 👍🎸
Belinda? Thank You. I know you had to go through a lot for this. Thank you from the bottom of my heart. Listened at Max Volume in a 300 series BMW convertible with my head down as close to the speakers as possible. My friends car. He knew I would love it. At “Toad Suck Park” in the parking lot, NW of Little Rock in Arkansas. Life has moments like that. Very Rare. Very, very rare. Especially as you get older. That was one of them.
Thank you so much for the 4 people who gave a thumbs up to this comment. If you know who I am or not. This was a life altering song. Most of the music I have truly loved, from that time period, still exists. Almost everything since then is a flat affect deathscape of a world. In my mind. Caused by THEM. The small hats. I don’t care about anyone anymore. The people using me as a testing lab rat have ruined any ability I ever possessed to love or emotionally appreciate anything. So, I SAY FUCK THEM and I HOPE THEY DIE IN HORRIBLE PAIN, MOTHER FUCKERS. If I ever get the chance, I will ensure a slow painful “Shogun” death for them.
I think that a large reason that MBV didn't obtain the success that they deserved, if they wanted it, is because of the airy vocals that were probably more about feeling than lyrical depth. That's what I love about them is that feeling of musical luminosity that they give to the listener. It's almost like shooting heroin in your ear while peaking on acid. Not this song, but "Sometimes" just makes me want to melt through the speakers into their world. And I do
My ears glued to your 300 series BMW convertible speaker outputs at maximum volume in the parking lot of "Toad Suck Park". A beautiful place NW of Little Rock, Arkansas. I'll bet my life that no other human was listening to this song. Over and over. At that exact time. HDR. Thank You for allowing me to have that experience. And many others. Chameleons.

@@takecareofyourshoess Indeed. I wrote this cos someone here had put up the ''lyrics''. However this applies to Loveless only, for Isnt Anything does have proper lyrics (and meaningful, too)
I bought Loveless when I was 12 and I just didn’t get it... like I knew there was something there so I never got rid of it and then one day 16 years later I go to Japan and it just clicked it was like a moment of enlightenment
I get that vibe too, as someone else pointed out Stewart Copeland did the music for spyro and he probably had a influence on kevin. Stewarts stuff under the klark kent name most likely
love, love MBV!!! It's totally like, a collective nod to one another, yeah, we all get it, and you all don't! !! what ma NY cast off as mindless noise,, I hear genius, and loud tranquility. ..it somehow induces a relaxation response for me... love it
MBV was the best shoegaze band because they had a lot of variety and didn’t just stick to the “pretty, sad” stuff all the time. This song is such an interesting blend of genres and the emotions it evokes are quite obscure, which is why I think it lives on
This song and album are absoutely magic. When I first purchased it, I think I listened to it 876 times in a row. It changed me and my taste in music in a second.
I think this song could make top 200 songs of all time. This song to me is such an incredible ending to the record.. and definitely top 5 in their entire catalog for me at least.

Back to those days when you thought your 'Loveless' vinyl record was slightly warped, but realize that it's Kevin's unique guitar playing that makes that sound.
I love the way Bilinda looks at Kevin at 1:11. She's mentally encouraging him to keep going. Then she gets so caught up in the moment that she can't help but say "Yeah" along with him. Looks so genuine.

First MBV listen (Loveless): I thought my CD player had gone f*cked. Took the disc out, checked it, wiped it off, put it back in. Same thing............ Billy Corgan was like uh yup I'll have that lol
Who are you I see u on all my favorite songs here

@@Anastasia-2332 oh okay...yeah I know a lot of different bands
Just finished reading Kevin's interview on Les Inrockuptibles. Really can't understand how most people, then, couldn't love this disc. It was simply a quantic leap from everything else since, and despite that, a natural evolution. A new breed. Loved it.
this song really should be in a movie
This soothes my headache, it's so enchanting. What was it like to those of you lucky enough to have grown up with them and seen them play live? Shoegaze is incredible magic, this feels like being on cloud nine ✨
Also, I feel that this song really needs to be heard LOUD to be able to take full effect 😅
Sounds amazing on a good headset or stereo
when that guitar kicks in it is pure bliss
Heard this in the car on a very cold night. Felt like my life flashed before my eyes. What an ethereal experience.
I even quitted to any kind of dr*gs after listening to Loveless. The full thing made me realize a lot of things.
The most powerful sound I've ever heard.
Loveless is a better drug than any kind of drugs
When I was into H on my last merrygo round, I used to put Only Shallow and this track on as I prepared my fix. As soon as it hit, the music just becomes background sound and you miss out as your brain is flooded with dopamine and you lose interest in music.
Becoming sober and hearing this music properly again is a truly beautiful thing.
Proud to call myself a Shoegazer.
makes my ears come every time
Wake up, don't fear
I want to love you
Yeah, doll of pain
I let you get to me
Come back, don't be
Afraid of me soon
That I'll harm you
Your eyes are blue, blue jewels
Come back, have faith
Someone like you
Can find the reason
Of what I did to you
Wake up, don't fear
I want to love you
Yeah, doll of pain
I let you get to me
Saw them with Dinosaur Jr, Mary Chain and Blur @ Brighton Centre. The floor shook for hours after they left the stage. That was a pretty brilliant night.
Pfff what a gig that must have been
@@lockyp204 Yes, it was a great night out. Blur before Parklife, Dinosaur Jr at their peak and the Mary Chain being the Mary Chain; MBV waaahhhhhhh!
listen to "come in alone" i think youll love it
Thank God I finally discovered this band! Freakin' rocks!
her voice is incredible
Oh boy that drum hits my ears like a galloping horse 👌 it balances the entire song
This still gets me all these years later
Belinda?
The first time I heard this album was literally perfect. Changed how I thought in the realm of music creation.
Saw them in Sydney, Australia in 1991. Amazing gig 🤪
I'd say the abstract imagery and mood of this video matches the music rather perfectly.
GOD!..THIS SONG DOESN'T GET OLD. :)
got old for me the first 2 seconds
I think that a large reason that MBV didn't obtain the success that they deserved, if they wanted it, is because of the airy vocals that were probably more about feeling than lyrical depth. That's what I love about them is that feeling of musical luminosity that they give to the listener. It's almost like shooting heroin in your ear while peaking on acid. Not this song, but "Sometimes" just makes me want to melt through the speakers into their world. And I do
Extreme off-the-curve shoe-gazing, this!
I’m living for this song for the rest of my life
My ears glued to your 300 series BMW convertible speaker outputs at maximum volume in the parking lot of "Toad Suck Park". A beautiful place NW of Little Rock, Arkansas.
I'll bet my life that no other human was listening to this song. Over and over. At that exact time.
HDR. Thank You for allowing me to have that experience. And many others. Chameleons.

I did't see the lyrics anywhere so I went over a copy and pasted for you guys.
These Lyrics are formatted weird so it will take you a second for you to realize what they are saying in correlation to the lyrics
Cole Williams 🌹
God only knows how it is possible to make out any of the words on this song
@@lucioandriulo9011 Who cares WTF the words are. It's not at all about the words...it's about the SOUND of the words.
@@takecareofyourshoess Indeed. I wrote this cos someone here had put up the ''lyrics''. However this applies to Loveless only, for Isnt Anything does have proper lyrics (and meaningful, too)
Might be my favorite song from the album, I absolutely LOVE the looping style, burned into my mind
MBV puts me in a trance their melodies hypnotize me in a very pleasant way.
No one makes music like these guys. I don't know if its even possible to do so without sounding like a copycat. This era of music shines.
Not that this is my favorite song by anyone but this song sure is PERFECTION.
I bought Loveless when I was 12 and I just didn’t get it... like I knew there was something there so I never got rid of it and then one day 16 years later I go to Japan and it just clicked it was like a moment of enlightenment
why do i get a spyro the dragon vibe off of the beat
Hot Ham on a Hoagie---> I definitely hear it!
Dude yes
I've been thinking this for ages. I think it's that jittery snare
Hot Ham on a Hoagie omg now I can only think about the first Crash videogame, specially the first level
Stewart Copeland of The Police wrote the music for Spyro lol
I get that vibe too, as someone else pointed out Stewart Copeland did the music for spyro and he probably had a influence on kevin. Stewarts stuff under the klark kent name most likely
love, love MBV!!! It's totally like, a collective nod to one another, yeah, we all get it, and you all don't! !! what ma NY cast off as mindless noise,, I hear genius, and loud tranquility. ..it somehow induces a relaxation response for me... love it
Best band I ever saw live (Boston). That Petrol Emotion was a close second. I want a Hot Tub Time Machine!
when was that?
@@dirtmcgirt1038 1992 Avalon (Landsdowne St, Near Fenway Park)
This song and video gives me weird feelings i can't explain
I miss that time when it was 100% about music. No image to create. No marketing. Just sound
eternal... timeless... nothing can beat this masterpiece... that's a 12 on 10 !
Ethereal and sublime
It's now 2018 and I still love this album. Thank you from Sicily, My Bloody Valentine!
MBV was the best shoegaze band because they had a lot of variety and didn’t just stick to the “pretty, sad” stuff all the time. This song is such an interesting blend of genres and the emotions it evokes are quite obscure, which is why I think it lives on
They are not shoe gaze
@@williampowell15 funny joke bro😂😂😂 loveless is literally the pinnacle of shoe gaze and one the greatest albums of all time.
Is the Best shoegaze band. They still record albums
Top 200 is a disrepectful number to be honest. lol
Top 100. Top 50. It's amazing *_*

Loveless! Perfection.
I'm quite sure in a thousand years this will still sound fresh.
Back to those days when you thought your 'Loveless' vinyl record was slightly warped, but realize that it's Kevin's unique guitar playing that makes that sound.
The best use of the tremolo bar with alternative tuning ever.
Love it! The sound never gets old...
Agreed 🙂
i can definitely see the influence of this in type o negative’s album october rust. lol pete trying to get the goils in the door hahaha
I love the way Bilinda looks at Kevin at 1:11. She's mentally encouraging him to keep going. Then she gets so caught up in the moment that she can't help but say "Yeah" along with him. Looks so genuine.

the only shrine to kevin i own lies in my heart. i'll steal church candles and work on a physical one however
First MBV listen (Loveless): I thought my CD player had gone f*cked. Took the disc out, checked it, wiped it off, put it back in. Same thing............
Upon my *sixth* listen, while doing the dishes............epiphany. 48:31 of WTF? beauty.
Six listens to hear greatness? Now that's new music. And it has only continued to blossom in my psyche, since.
Haunted by memories I never lived
