But because both are very experienced vocalists, they quickly adapt to each other's style. They probably play it by ear. Also, I remember Chen singing in a studio with a band he didn't know. He never practised with them but trusted them to know the note pieces given in advance. It was a show where singers sang with a band in a studio.
Hweseung said that they really have no clue who they are having the duet with, they didn't even know if it will be a man or woman, they were just given a guide music to practice with and the duet itself was not rehearsed.
I’ve probably watched this 30 times. I’m not exaggerating. It’s not just how amazing the performance is, I’m fascinated by how they could pull this off. I asked my husband, who is a singer, and he said ‘they can read music and they’re professionals.’ Not super helpful to me but probably sums it up pretty well 😆 And credit to the songwriter. Chen and Hwe Seung had some pretty incredible material to work with.

that's the premise of the show. it's a challenge to singers to be able to harmonize with another singer on the spot without seeing them. you can really see their skill level & experience. hwe seung even said that he almost missed singing his part because he thought chen sang really well & chen also expressed that he want to sing with hwe seung again in the future. the collab that we never knew we needed! may i suggest another amazing duet? Really I Didn't Know by Chen & Baekhyun Last Time - Chen & D.O. both of these are during their rookie days. May We Bye - Chen & Onestar = this one i would say is underrated. this should have more views seriously. the highnotes here is off the charts. btw, thanks to reacting to this! hopefully we can see more Chen & EXO on your channel.
Although everyone in Korea knows Rooftop (or other N.Flying songs) they don't know the members well. However, Hweseung is popular because he participate singing shows a lot like Immortal Song, King of Masked Singer ect. His duet with Lee Hongki was a hit too. Seunghyub is also really popular these days because of his acting in Lovely Runner. Thanks to his drama, N.Flying is on the rise again. 😄

hweseung is sooo slept on as one of the best vocalists in kpop rn, just because n.flying isnt as popular as some other groups :(
