I moved one off the the middle of the road to the direction he was heading in about 3years ago, I hope they survive, this is sad 😞
I hope they can come back strong 💪 Let's be more mindful of the small hearts beating on the Earth with us humans!
💚❤💛💙💜🐢Turtle Power!⚡
You've been awarded 1000 virtue signal points to spend at your leisure on virtue signalling fridge magnets, badges, t-shirts and bumper stickers !
Awesome long life turtles have……. Taken away 🐢
I moved one from the road back in 1992.
Hopefully he/she survived.
theyre so beautiful
best post covid new normal pandemic food you can find.
"Turns out humans are one of their biggest threats"...We're everything's biggest threat. lol
shadows221 even to unborn babies
@@Maximus01776 fetus not baby , just like an acorn is not an Oak tree nor is it an unborn Oak tree .
Mankind is not anywhere close to extinction. The survival of any species is dependent on some dying , on some being killed , on some not surviving .
@@shari9721 you hypocrite, your technicality doesn't change the fact that you are killing a human being, a acorn in a dead seed, that it doesn't come to life until us fertilized and germinate in the soil, totally different things, but this is what I have to deal with every single day, with people like you that are mentally challenged
@@Maximus01776 Once that fetus is born the Christian right doesn't care anymore as conservative politicians close Planned Parenthood clinics that provide prenatal care to mothers to be. And further restrict aid to mothers caring for those babies. You are drowning in your own hypocrisy and don't even know it!!! This is all besides putting your irrelevant comment on this story which demonstrates your lack of awareness!!
Put a tiny barrier fence on the side of all the roads, a foot high would make it not able to cross it but we could step over it. Then make tunnels every mile or so over or under the roads. They don't have to be big just big enough for a tortoise to cross. Trust me, they will figure out where the tunnels are.
I have been fortunate enough to see several of these up close in the wild
I'm surprised people taking these babies home isn't part of the issue.
Good luck little turtles! Sad to hear the biggest reason they are dying is because people keep running them over. Imagine the amount of life that would exist on earth if human didnt.
Humans are the problem……. All of us are responsible for killing Earth’s creatures
maybe speed bumps, or street cameras with light sensors when crossing
I work on a solar farm in Blythe and the project has special fencing to meep the desert tortoise out. Now I know why we have to have such precautions!
Beautiful animal
absolutely delicious in a stew too.
Those tortoise have beautiful eyes
How do you measure tortoise in the .1 s
Extremely sad please protect these sweet little creatures
Why not put up a small barrier along the roadside so the tortoises cant enter the roadway? Why not close off parts of the park to humans? Why not relocate the tortoises a little farther from the roads? Putting up signs is the bare minimum, but they should have already been up a long time ago if they knew this was an ongoing issue.
surprised everyone arent blaming the short term rentals
a dessert turtle is like a mongoose in the snow.......
I live in Temecula and would love to help if you need it.
Why not built some desalination stations. The Pacific has plenty of h2o
What do you expect when you have half of the East Coast and tourists from all over the world just invading Southern California and our National parks. Too many people.
damn I live in the middle of nowhere and I seen one of them before
If they have some captive and they’re breeding then they won’t be completely extinct, but if there aren’t any captive and breeding then they should consider getting a good bunch and keeping them to repopulate
There are a bunch of organizations that are working on preserving hatchlings and captive bred tortoises. The issue is that at the moment they cannot release these tortoises without risking the health of the wild ones, and these captive bred tortoises do not know how to survive in the wild. They are working and studying them to help one day cure the upper respiratory infection problem that threatens the desert tortoise. At the moment common California natives like us can just become more educated on them and help where we can in saving this species.
I hope I can see one in person one day!
It must be when people travel in the interstate 10 to LA because you pass Joshua tree national park before Indio man port tortoise
Ravens are the problem nobody listens to me but ravens Love baby tortoise
the raven population has grown as human population grows we need to get rid of the ravens
👉😥💔😥👈
The attention span of today's member of the bewildered herd emoji spamming sheeple is that akin to an amoeba.
Make a big pond and breed it like crazy fools
The law enforcement that agency i work for encourage us to properly remove them from roads. Ive seen only two in last eight years.
Please y’all let’s take care of are wild for many more generations to enjoy ☺️
Why don’t they just put some water out there for them to drink? Africa has watering holes in its desert for their animals and they just have to refill it every once in a while.
I would imagine the more animals become extinct the more problematic these will be on the wildlife ecosystems and eventually the landscape and at the end us. There's a butterfly effect for everything
They should put water bends for them
what about water straights ?
Good luck
Chuck.
Save the scallops! poor scallops
Well the land itself is dying n turning into a desert
:(
How are there .5 less tortoise . How do you fractionalize a tortoise
The mojave's most iconic animal try the mojave's only animal it's the only reason it is iconic
There isn't any other animals in the desert
all the hypocritical nature lover's heading out to Joshua Tree...that and Ravens
Alot of people take them home people come from all over
Oh god🤦🏾♂️ here we go🙄
Bye bye tortoise.
THESE TORTOISES ARE VERY EASY TO BREED IN CAPTIVITY. NO REASON THEY SHOULD GO EXTINCT.
They need a mass breeding program
s few shots of Fauci&Gates cureall will do it.
There are several Tortoise Breeding centers in the desert. The problem is the number they loose when they are released... People just need to leave them alone and the park service needs to close off most of the desert to human traffic.
@@sardave that's wussup and yea people don't need access to endangered habitats for animals that threatened
First I have ever heard of these going extinct. Arizona has so many they will even let you adopt them.
😪😡🐢
I now how to save them............... but you may not like it
If we get rid of all humans
If we keep going the way we are going then humans will go extinct.
My tortise got cold head :((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((
increase the flame on the stove !
Humans...
...are the worst
Bots....
@@peniparker7968 that is the problem you think humans are bad. They are not we are here to learn. Stop being a clown!!!
Is only a matter of time till humans go on the endangered species list too. Humans are the worst thing to happen to this planet after the asteroid that killed the dinosaurs.

Ban all Cars from Joshua Tree National Parks and problem solved ✍️
Come back when you are ready to make a realistic suggestion!
🐢 soup help me whit my canser
Cars are biggest problem
People steel them all the time
Its ok at this rate the rest of us are going the same way except for the authors and their clique that constructed the Georgia Guidestones.
America has grown, first they slaughtered a billion natives, then 80millon buffalos and now let’s save the turtles at Joshua tree while continues not to act like nothing happened they’ve always been civilized. Lol
Let's not forget the whales that were brought to near extinction but are now placing the blame on the Japanese.
@@theotheleo6830 A majority of the sea life on our coastlines are endangered.
