No, just tried to make 4th and 5th chapter more dynamic. I think it was a bad idea, but that's why RDR2 is a creative masterpiece, not commercial sh*t made to be liked by everybody.
Chapter 4 has a lot of abrupt cuts and missing cutscenes like these, it feels like the most rushed of the bunch. I always thought it was odd how Dutch was already dressed up in camp and it just cuts to them in the carriage all in suits.
There’s a lot of cut content in this game. Cutscenes, Guarma, New Austin, outfits, companion feature, John’s model etc etc. The game needs a Director’s Cut version to restore all this

Worked as a contractor for Rockstar for more than a year, my job was to be on site with the external partner of Rockstar Games specially in-charge of all the animation data cleaning after motion captures were done, co-responding with the animators send by Rockstar for tutorial and review of the outsourcing team, while make sure they maintain productivity. From what I personally remembered, hours of animation contents were cut. Some from missions in the final game such as this one, others were cut completely along with the missions. I clearly remember a series of "Stranger" missions: Some rancher who's not very smart got scammed and lost all of his cattles, and found them with the help of Arthur, only to be scammed again in the later part, which he brought a "mail bride" with all the cattle money, and the mail bride is actually a guy and from the group doing all the scamming. And it's completely cut from the final game. I heard that some times Dan Houser cuts contains simply because "the pacing or tone doesn't fit". Also I got spoiled at the first week on the job "Arthur got tuberculosis" :(
Nice to hear what I thought about massive cutscenes and stuff being cut was true cause RDR2 is so jam packed! Just makes me crave more character interactions, knowing that %100 there is more
I was doing the glitch to get the tuxedo and the game bugged and showed that I was at the tailor. I thought there was some sort of cut scene that was meant to be there and I guess I was right.

Yep. A lot of gamer hear "cut content" and think the devs are trying to cheat them out of money by not making the game long enough or whatever lol. Usually, it is for good reason. I am glad this was cut cuz it is NOT necessary. Plus, yeah, the hard cut in the stagecoach with the fancy clothes is great.

Still I wouldn't mind a DLC that added everything back in that they completed or recorded mocaps/dialogue for. Consider it a Director's Cut and add everything where it originally was to give us more reason to do another playthrough to find all the cool new stuff.

There is proof that about 30% of the game was cut. All of it on story/ missing people and other missions. Even some big giant man from a cave as far as i see in the gamefiles

You have to have like 30 animals studied in your compendium, this will spawn a large flock of birds on the river by the east exit from Wapiti, when you approach the birds they’ll take off and stay in a recognizable formation, follow these birds and they take you to the giant cave. You cannot enter, but he will talk to you through the wall. It’s in the area very close to the Loft on the north border of the map.
I'm not a fan of this cutscene. Arthur looks and sounds so miserable, and the cutscene we did get where they're laughing in the stage coach helps transition into what a shitty party they're going to.
This game has had so much cut content its insane, guarma was originally going to be a fully explorable island and we would've been able to travel back to it but they decided last minute to cut it all out due to it not catering much "to the story" like what? It wouldve been fun exoloring a new area
I think it would have been nice if they'd kept Molly in the party scene, but then she's supposed to be feeling gradually ignored by Dutch so it might work better that she isn't.
I liked the dialogue but I think seeing them leaving the tailor was not needed and it was the right call to cut it out of the story. Mainly due to the fact that going to the tailor is part of another mission.
Honestly this game is amazing but when you learn more about it, you realize it’s missing a lot of stuff. Especially when the epilogue was supposed to be way different

Last time i played that mission when the screen turned black and it begin the cinematic of them laughing on the stagecoach but my Arthur was al beated up , he had a black eye for no reason.
This scene is in the game I remember seeing it and even took some screenshots on my ps4. There are cutscenes that vary depending on the time of day and/or who the quest giver, there are also certain conditions like characters being camp or doing a mission at the end or start of chapter.
Mind you this game was in development for EIGHT YEARS or more. And even then there are things they cut. This either means it wasn't enough time, or it was more than enough time for them to do more than planned so they decided to cut stuff.

Those streamers are idiots if they thought it was too long. One of the reasons I loved Rockstar was because their games are epic tales. Like RPGs without all the numbers.
Add in an infinite series of randomly generated bounty missions, house options for Arthur, and the ability to hire ranch hands...and I'm happy to stay in Ch 2 forever.

I can see why they cut this out. It's unnecessary. Cutting from the camp to the stagecoach on the way to the party right after Dutch says they need to get Arthur some fancy clothes implies that they did that. They don't NEED to show them getting Arthur dressed up. Good on Rockstar to cut it out.
I wish they had cut guarma from the game to free up space for more of chapter 4. It seems like guarmas whole purpose was that they needed a soft time skip.

Not necessarily. Alot of games have cur content and red dead is no exception. Maybe it was cut due to pacing and didn’t want the mission to feel too bloaty and just get to the fun part. Also at the end of the cutscene it looked like you would’ve walked around with dutch and hosea with the suits on before getting to the party. Seems like a good reason to cut it since you’re gonna be walking around again in the part. Or maybe a whole lot of other reasons. But it was cut for probably good reason.

It's a fairly unnecessary scene. The cut from camp to the carriage is a smart choice. It keeps it tight by sticking to pertinent details.
Just remember, the game would have been twice as long if Rockstar didn't force half the team to split their efforts for Red Dead Online.
