Pray this wealth & riches will not be concentrated on one segment of the African Powerful people only, but to spread and alleviate abject poverty where needed. By the way, owning your own private jet(s) is not a big deal in U.S; but because of the abject poverty that has continually engulfed the rich motherland Africa, it is a BIG DEAL (with Bold Letters). @@oweakala7234 Sis, what has the fact that cheryl failed to greet the Alaafin properly and thr Alaafin's wife being younger got to do with "spring chicken"? Would she have greeted the Oba of Benin like she did the Alaafin? She knows our culture as a woman married to a very "High Chief" in Benin Kingdom. It's just disrespectful in my opinion.

    • @pauloduye2241
      @pauloduye2241 5 лет назад +1

      Good question. Esama’s wife is a West Indian, Jamaican precisely so she’s not brought up to kneel down.

    • @oluakinwale4859
      @oluakinwale4859 5 лет назад +9

      @@pauloduye2241 with due respect l disagree with u. She has been married to the Esema for long as l can remember. She is also the wife of one of the "highest chiefs" in Benin Kingdom. So she knows the culture and married into it. Would she have greeted the Esema's parents were they to be alive? I bet not. The Alaafin is one of the paramount rulers in Nigeria. She even stretched her hands out to shake the Alaafin! Lack of respect. Am so happy the Alaafin did not shake her hand. I blame the Esema. She should have been schooled. I sure she would never greet the Oba of Benin like that. We have a culture that teaches us how to greet our elders and our traditional rulers. This is unacceptable. Let call a spade a spade. The Esema even gave up his seat on his own house for the Alaafin. Cheryl has lived in Nigeria and exposed to our culture for her to know right from wrong. This is not about money, it's about our culture and tradition that she took on when she married the Esema. Once again kudos to the Olori for doing the right thing.

    • @pauloduye2241
      @pauloduye2241 5 лет назад +4

      Olu akinwale. You’re absolutely right. For Esama to have been married to her for so long it means she’s doing something right to extent her husband accepts that side of her own upbringing and covers her up.
      It seems the Esama gave up his seat to percify Iku Baba Yeye for the ‘disrespect’ of even wanting to shake hands.
      Alafin’s olori on the other hand couldn’t have behaved otherwise.
      West Indians and oyinbos won’t kneel down or prostrate for anyone till Kingdom come.
      Oluwo’s wife doesn’t too.
      And if we can borrow a leaf from the great man; Igbinedion and Alaafin; that’s a lesson in compromise.

      @@oweakala7234 am sorry that not an excuse. A King is a King. She also had the opportunity to hold on to say a chair as support. She chose not to. Also did u see her stretched her right hand out to shake the Alaafin? Alaafin did not respond to her request for hand shake. We need to stop making up excuses for unacceptable behaviours such as this. It's not right.

    i have a question to the 2 royal King of yoruba land, to my little knowledge, Oba of Benin is among 1st class Oba in yoruba- land and history tells us, king/oba of Benin descendants is direct son of Oduduwa(father & founder of yorubaland) this is my question. Benin people are yoruba or not?

    • @victoroged8241
      @victoroged8241 5 лет назад

      they are yorubeni

    • @nioczar350
      @nioczar350 5 лет назад +3

      please dont be miss inform or miss educated. It is very easy for the yorobas to miss interpret this, because they have the population and the media power more than the benins. To make this short. Google why lagos does not belong to Yorubas by - Oba Akiolu. (The oba of lagos). Paragraph 8 and 9 will tell you more, if yoroba is part of benin kingdom or the other way round. For your information, the Benin man that the yoroba king came to visit is a chief, not a king.

    • @nioczar350
      @nioczar350 5 лет назад +3

      Izoduwa know as Oduduwa by the yorobas was the son of Ogiso (Now Oba of benin). Not the other way round.

    • @yemiadeleke4197
      @yemiadeleke4197 5 лет назад +2

      The izoduwa tale is very doubtful. At any rate, Yoruba history is different from the history of Lagos and the Oba of Lagos throne. As I am a core Lagosian, I know that the Oba of Lagos is a foreigner (just like the house of weeks currently ruling the Benins are foreigners). In fact, history is full of royalties who are foreigners I.e. the current family ruling Great Britain are of Germanic heritage, they are not British. So I believe the same situation existing in Lagos, exists in Benin and exist in england. As a lagosian, I know who the land owning families of lagos are and the ruling family in lagos island have no historical claim to land or to a truly yoruba crown as far as I know. That is y today all of Loki and ope, badagry and have kings. So don't confuse the history of Lagos with the history of yoruba. The oldest brass face in Nigeria comes from Ife (the head of ooni). It is still in the British museum today. He was made 100 of years before the Benin bronze heads. In fact, there is oral history in Benin saying the Benins learnt bronze carving from the people of Ife. That may be a pointer as to where the royal blood line of the oba of benin. Obviously the benins are not yoruba just as lagosians are not Benins. It is the royal families that are just foreigners. My 2cents.
