i find it so sad that there are not many places with this kind of shows anymore i hope there comes more places with shows with animatronics i would love that
Agreed. In an era where companies want to spend less money on things, I doubt that we'll ever see restaurants return to animatronics. They'd just as soon have a TV with virtual/animated characters as that's much cheaper than paying a tech to work on animatronics that tend to be high-maintenance. It sucks, and I wish it wasn't like that. They'd draw such a crowd by featuring animatronics, but they just won't do it in today's modern age. Sad.

Nice! Those are some pretty good footage, I'm also assuming that was filmed before the weld on Dook's left arm broke. Glad to see ya both got to see the Rock Afire Explosion all decorated for Halloween. I also see the center stage curtain is stuck open on Dook & Fatz's side. I had a feeling something like that would eventually happen with the closing sequence on both of the curtains not being exactly in sync when they both were still operating.
I appreciate it. This footage was filmed on 10/22 and 10/23, so I'm not sure if I arrived just before or just after the issue with Dook's arm. As far as the curtain issue goes, I definitely noticed it. Braylon was there and working on the curtains on 10/23, so they might be fixed by now.
The tech at Billy Bob's, Braylon, fixed them up in late 2021 and early 2022. I believe they debuted at a show in late January after restoration (or something like that).

I wish there were more. I sometimes worry about Billy Bob's. If they close, that's it for public Rock-afire shows in the US (and all of North America, if I'm not mistaken). I know the creator, Aaron, loathes and despises this place. However, I still want to see it survive so that I at least have a show that I can visit.
@@csxno601 I live in San Jose, But I have a few friends in the DC area; next time I visit I have to make a pilgrimage to go there before it's too late!
@@ultragor Aaron and the former owner of Billy Bob's Wonderland had some sort of falling out around 10 years ago, and there has been bad blood ever since. I don't know too many details, and I try to stay out of it. However, I do enjoy this show nonetheless and hope it lasts well into the future. If it goes, the legacy of Rock-afire is likely done in North America - at least, in terms of public access (as mentioned). I'd definitely make an effort to visit if you're ever in the area.

Seth I noticed that dook has a small rip on the side of his mouth.
