Recording videos on Sunday evening probably isn't the best idea. I look and sound so tired lol. But hey, I'll do anything to keep delivering you guys helpful content. What do you use to record worship services at your church?
Hey Jake I wanted to let know what the Lord has you doing has been a huge blessing not only to myself (out here in San Bernardino, CA) but to the entire community you have here on RUclips. I know all this might be tiring and exhausting especially having to pick up and tear a church every sunday. Make you rest and give sometime to you and your family and most of all God. You're doing a great thing here, thank you for your hard work and dedication!! Much love!!
PTZoptics camera has been the changing game for us to spread the Gospel and the quality is amazing. Easy to use and friendly, got to say we have made the most wise choice of cameras for our live stream. We currently just started last year in September and there is no greater thing than this.
Thank you for your video on the PTZ Optics camera and your church set up. I have watched a lot of your videos and took notes. I'm part of a small church just getting into streaming. I found the information you provided very helpful. I'm doing this all by myself and not very techy myself so I had no idea where to start. Your information was very vsluable. God bless you!
It would be great if PTZ Optics included an option that would allow for users to set ease-in/out and movement timing between programmed camera positions. This should allow for a more natural look during single camera setups particularly when live streaming.
I'm not sure if you already know this, but things like how fast it move to a preset can be adjusted in the menu. Or at least ours has a setting for that. (EDIT; Just saw the date of this video, and I'm sure you know by now)
I am looking at PTZ cameras for a different application. It looks good but one thing I noticed with the video is that the color has a fair amount of red in it. You may be right that the lighting has a factor in that.
Looks good for a first time video shoot. As a small church here in Texas with limited funds maybe we'll get lucky and win one of these PTZOptics video cameras. We have been trying to get our leadership to begin setting aside funds to get into videoing our services. Wish us Luck.
Thank you for the video! I may have missed you mentioning this, did you live stream plus record this service then go back and add transitions in post? I am thinking about suggesting to my worship pastor that when we live stream, we don't publish after the stream end. Instead, we work on it a bit in post. I would actually prefer that we don't stream at all and just post a pre-recorded service that evening. Our internet is too slow to stream anything over 720p.
I purchased the while setup, except I purchased the Behringer x32 board and it has an interface built in so there was no need for the separate Behringer interface.
I want to use one of these cameras to stream from a worship place to surrounding homes, so all those from home can take part in the worship. I hope it is good for this purpose.
NSCaster X1 supports operating PTZ camera such as zoom, focus, aperture operation, up, down, left, right, top left, bottom left, top right, bottom right movement. It also supports drag and drop arbitrary position, and quickly locates the target. Learn more: nagashare.com/
It looks like this video was recorder in some DSLR or something similar. I’d love to know how a PTZ camera compares to a DSLR in video quality, but there’s nothing on the web. Could you say how and if it’s comparable, regarding lens quality? Thanks.
Great resource Jake! Thank you for the time you put into providing the information. Do you remember what manual settings you used on the PTZ camera? We're in the process of setting up the same camera and your lighting and distance look very similar to our setup. Thanks in advance! - Chris
Ok, we just got this camera at our church and it looks like absolute trash. I've been messing with exposure, white balance, etc. with no luck. We have really good lighting in our building and basically it looks just like you showed on all auto. So HOW did you get it too look that good in the manual settings? can you send your exact exposure settings you input? And how is it not blurry with motion? Ours you take two steps and it looks worse than a VHS on a tube TV. I just don't get it and am thinking of returning this camera, for $1800 it's picture quality is garbage and there has to be better out there, probably for less money. Any help would be appreciated thanks!
Hello Jake, interesting video....I'm wondering, have you use the Blackmagic cameras before such as Mini Ursa, BM Micro Studio, BM Studio & BM Pocket cameras ? If yes, how does the PTZOptics compares to them in low light ?
While I have never used the PTZ camera, I am not sure the Ursa Mini cameras would do any better in low light. However, they provide a host of other efficiencies to the workflow that the PTZ misses. For example, the Ursa allows you to; 1. Use fast lenses to help with low light situations. 2. Use zoom lenses for reaching much farther than the PTZ. 3. Take audio input from the sound board/mixer. 4. Etc.
I like this setup since it’s pretty straightforward. If I were to add 4-5 static GoPro cams on stage, and maybe one more PTZ (or the like), how could I add them to this setup?
Also what are your thoughts for a digital mixer... Allen & Heath SQ-7 or Midas M32 (or any other options that you recommend)? I have some older volunteers at my church... they would probably prefer a interface with 32 physical faders rather than digging trough layers... also our church prefers more that 32 inputs for future expansion.
Hey Jake, two gear questions - 1. What camera, lens, and lights are you using to record yourself? 2. What projector are you using in the church service? Is it being projected from behind, so that you are not casting shadows? Thanks for all of your work & videos! Love watching & listening to the podcast!
Thanks for subscribing to the channel and podcast! Would you do me a favor and leave a review on the podcast? It would mean the world. In this youtube video I'm using a Canon 6Dmii with a 24mm f1.4 lens with a senheisser mke 44o mic on the camera. As for lighting in this video I'm using a Neewer Dimmable Bi-color LED. I have it aimed at the wall in front of me for a nice diffused look. Most of my videos I film in the day next to a window with natural light. In a lot of my other videos i also use a Panasonic GH5. Hope that helps!
What do you know about power distribution? My church is a bit dated. Our options to power the stage at the moment are plugging into the available outlets near by. Which can be an issue causing a ground loop sound in our speakers. Also cables everywhere. I feel like Ralph’s dad from Christmas story connecting almost everything on one outlet. What are some solutions/options to distribute power effectively?
Hey Jake, would you happen to have any idea how to get Logic Pro X mix into OBS studio so I can live stream with better audio? I’m having some trouble figuring that out
If we just need one camera., Can you plug your ptz optics into a Mac via HDMI without messing with IP address configuration? We are trying to plug it in using hdmi and it’s not recognizing the camera.
thanks for the vid. I'm looking at this camera for live streaming and was wondering how feasible it is to connect an audio feed directly to the camera's line in port from the mixer for embedding the audio? I'd like to skip the computer and audio interface altogether and just broadcast live streaming with audio directly from the camera via ip streaming.
There are many ways of adding efficiencies to this depending on your situation. One way to do what you are looking for is to have the audio interface go to a Atem Mini/Studio, then have the video from this camera feed into the same Atem device. The Atem can now mix it both for you and output to either a recorder or to your streaming PC/Mac.
How does the ptzopics camera’s compare to other PTZ camera’s when it comes to moving shots (like panning, maybe a bit of zooming)? I’m considering getting a few PTZ camera’s for my church but I’m not sure if shot will be jerky when trying to pan slowly or zoom slowly... I’ll appreciate any kind of info about these camera’s in real world applications. It’s difficult to find information and if videos of how these actually operate in the real world for churches. Thanks in advance! - Max M.
Hey just an fyi, you should look into the new Mac control app for this camera. @ ptzoptics.com/apps You will need to add a simple network switch/router to your setup but if you're looking to start streaming this is something you'll want anyways. I don't know for sure if the USB models are capable of POE but if they're you will really like not having to deal with the hassle of the power cable. Just run an either-net cable (CAT5e or 6) and your USB cable for capture. The network controls will give a lot more functionality vs the remote and if you update the firmware you can set the preset recall speed to a very low speed and it will be less jarring. I don't know if the usb gamepad control is available on Mac yet but I'm sure PTZOptics is working on it if it's not. Feel free to email me directly if you need any help with this. I've been using PTZOptics cams for 2 years and have become a bit of a fan boy. Also their user group on FB is a great resource if you need help. facebook.com/groups/ptzopticspals/

it can be a realistic expectation for aspiring worship leaders though! Many of us are worn out come Sunday evening!
2i2 focusrite is it good ?

I bet they are working great! We personally love the one we have!

I've watched your videos before. They are very helpful. The PTZ Optics camera looks amazing! Hoping to get one for our church one day!
For Windows I'd highly recommend OBS
With so many features it’s the only type of camera you need!
Great production value

Strongly recommend switcher studio maybe doing a video about it? We use it at our church and it’s an amazing software an easy to use
I’ll check it out!

You mentioned that the tripod sits tall, what tripod
did you use?
I love the Casey hoodie
The least I can do for my favorite RUclipsr is wear his Merch. Lol
Churchfront with Jake Gosselin I love it, your videos are killer! I want to lead worship soon!
Bro, great stuff. Looking forward to hearing more from your services! =D
Great Jake
We love ours
So this is a way to pre record? I keep seeing “live stream” with PTZ but needing something for pre recording
Great giveaways GOD BLESS YOU !!!
This is the only real world footage I have seen for PTZoptics camers..can you tell me which model it is?
@0:43 "I forgot the power cable for it." @01:31 "I couldn't find our little audio interface." 🤔
Awesome!!
Footage is at 2:33. You're welcome
The footage looks really nice. How does it look if you put it on the dark crowd?
I'm considering the camera for indoor shoots.
Gonna be dark and grainy. Good lighting is a must

@@davidbrandtdesign Have you used adkido ptz camera?
It's jarring all right... Dial down the motor speeds LOL. I feel like I got whiplash. Thanks for the video.

How far away from the stage is your PTZ camera?
20X zoom can support 200ft
Hey Jake, would you happen to have any idea how to get Logic Pro X mix into OBS studio so I can live stream with better audio? I’m having some trouble figuring that out
I'm not sure how to set that up. In this video, the mix you hear was edited in post.
Thanks!
Hey Jake! Great Videos! Quick question. What is your settings for multitracking. I have all the preferences correct and I'm getting no audio in Logic
If we just need one camera., Can you plug your ptz optics into a Mac via HDMI without messing with IP address configuration? We are trying to plug it in using hdmi and it’s not recognizing the camera.
Did you run into issues marrying the sound to the video or was it pretty much plug and play?
This past weekend we actually recorded the audio multitrack then synced it up later. I’ll let you guys know how it goes when we sync it up live.
What projector screen are you using. Did you change the one that you first started with? How is this new one working for you?
Same one we started with from Carl’s Place. Works great!
Does the PTZ camera do tracking? How well does it work?
Any idea how far away this camera was from your stage? Thanks! 😊

I haven’t worked with other ones. I’m sure tho if you got the joystick control and had the settings right it could operate smoothly.
Now that you have used it for a while since this video, have you figured out a way of doing smooth pans?
Hey there! You mentioned you had the M32. We are looking into the X32. Is this a good choice or do you think that the M32 is way better?
I recommend the M32 because it has better quality hardware. It’s worth the extra expense if you can swing it. Chances are it will last longer.
Would love to get your thoughts on audio routing for live stream to go through Logic Pro and then output to live stream.
Very difficult there's some videos about that you need Blackhole.

Hey Jake. I'm trying to run a multitrack from my churchs' M32 and i cant get an audio signal into logic. Suggestions? Thanks
Does the M32 show up under the audio input in system preferences?
Churchfront with Jake Gosselin Yes it's selected
Have an update to this setup?
thanks
