Artemiy, probably the reason why I think that you think that this mod isn't polished because I don't think it was because of the devolopers, I think it was because people was rushing the devolopers.
The real deal with incredibox is that all of the combination always makes banger sounds, it shouldn't have to be acapella, even the vanilla version give up on some of the version
I think Artemiy, though has valid points, and is his own opinion, is being a little nit-picky and compares it to his own mod a lot. And a lot of people are when it comes to this mod (and others of similar theme). To say it's "cliché" to have robots and scary things, although has some truth to it, doesn't mean a certain mod, or version "owns" that style. If that were the case, all mods would "copying" another version. This is less of an argument with Artemiy, as there are valid criticisms, however, it's more of an argument to people who dislike the mod just because "it's like Dystopia!!1!" However, my opinion is coming from a guy who thinks Brazil is pretty good, and doesn't think Alive is as good as everyone says it is.
i just dont get why so many mods try to tell a story through the bonuses instead of just making the bonuses actual bonuses. every incredibox version up until dystopia were actual tunes, and even then dystopia still had catchy numbers. every mod that takes the dystopia angle just plays a backing track with nothing else included. whats the point of using a bonus if it's hardly music?
I do like the mod but there's still a lot of problems, like effect 3's teeth, some notes and animations, there sprite tilting (which just makes them look like cardboard), etc. I just think it would be better of they took more time, maybe beta tested it, got feedback, and didn't set a release date 4 fucking times they would have been easily one of the top mods
While I do admittedly like a lot of the sounds, I have to agree with you that there are a lot of glaring problems with this mod, not that it’s bad but just that I think there is a lot I feel could have been done better or needed more time. Yes I am aware that people rushed coldbox and their team to make this but they also kept setting many release dates which I feel for passion projects like this or travis tend to do much more harm than good. Hell Fnaf security breach is much bigger example of something being rushed by its creators and its fans and given a scope that kept growing when it really shouldn’t have been. In terms of the sounds and aspects from the mod itself… I hate comparing things to cliches and saying stuff copies others, that being said, I agree there are elements that feel out of place. The steam and mask for beat 4 feel forced in since in the beta version of mechanic, he only had a visor that covered his eyes but a beat that felt way too quick to be realistically done in person. Here the beat is slowed down and more realistic but this change is pointless now that the mouth is covered and made from pistons and steam that feel shoehorned in. It would have been so much better to see lip syncing to it. Effect 3 while it has been kept through all 3 versions of this mod with changes throughout still feels out of place and I’m not sure why they kept it. I wanna say I have a controversial opinion that I absolutely love voices that have the traits of effects and vice versa (examples to me would include little miss’ effect 3 and voice 5, the love’s effect 2 voices 2 and 5 and Augury’s voice 5). I love voice 5 a lot despite it being more of an effect however it has issues that hold it back a lot. It is way too quite compared to a few melodies and voices and the clipping between each note make the voice not work on its own and feel too much like an effect when I feel it would be a great choir without them. Lastly, Melody 5’s animation feels lazy to me. I feel there could have been much more that could have been done comparing it to dystopia’s beat 2 (in the first demo of mechanic, the sound was a whistle which I imagined would have a sort of vibrating and blur effect but no). Having the head static like this feels boring which unfortunately is an issue that also bleeds over to bonfire even more so. Before I finish this probably needlessly long and overwritten comment, I want to say this. As someone who’s favourite versions and mods of incredibox are the more unorthodox and techy/sci-fi stuff like Alive, Dystopia, Augury and Travis, I am tired of a lot of mods being more focused on making scary or overly complex and grandeur mods (I know RB kind of fits into this category but he has more refined his own style and uses his own limitations and inspiration from incredibox to make his stuff stand out and makes some of my favourite mods. People should take inspiration from them on smaller parts of their own mods not for big things like polos and sounds). I know I am absolutely not cut out to try making a mod especially not a good one as if I did it would be my first time, but from looking at this and some other mods that I didn’t like I did learn one thing for if I ever do try it out. Sounds come first, designs after. Try to beatbox the sounds and see if they sound good out loud and able to be done in person before putting them in mods. You don’t have to entirely use organic sounds if it doesn’t sound good even after a thousand takes, as long as it can be done in person then you can try to make use if editing samples to recreate what you are trying to beatbox.
I think you will like bonfire more than mechanic,i mean i like mechanic(effect 4 carries for me)but bonfire sounds nice so im excited to see yoyr reaction abt it

But the designs, while I know they are supposed to be distinctive, don’t really stick out to me and I forget them easily. Also same thing with the sounds. I usually like creepy/eerie/weird sounds, like the ones in Airline, Two Faces, and especially Evadare. But I can’t remember most of the music from here. If you like this mod, then I guess I can see the appeal but for me it just doesn’t click.
Effects, melodies were the only things that were good. Voices sounded off tune and weird and beats were eh. just average mod beats. Mechanic, id say it would be a 6/10. Melodies were a BOP. Absolutely good and smooth, though i think melody 1 needs a lil more work. Effect 3 or something the WIP one sounds like a melody. Beats though were better and the voices too were good. Just a little rushed. Bonfire, Is an 8.2/10
This mod has nothing to do with incredibox. The voices and effect 5 are the only polos that actually use human sounds for once, everything else is just effortless when it comes to sounds. If people wanna take inspiration from other creators, then how about the creators of incredibox themselves instead of RB and his repetitive community. And also, Dystopia's lore told through it's three bonuses was simplistic and easy to understand, making it more memorable. Both Evadare and Arbox do not follow that rule of simplicity in the bonuses and quite frankly I hate it. I'ma take a wild guess here and say that it's not gonna look any better with coldbox
For me the voices are ok but they don’t fit especially the chorus voices and effect 4 I think has too much also I despise the sound of beat 5 it’s tooo high pitched I liked the old one but my biggest problem is that the animation of the Melodie’s just aren’t great melody 3 is fine and melody 5 is okay, i Iike melody 4 but I wish it kept its more bouncy head from the old version. But mechanic is still good I love beat 3. Coldbox isn’t that great and suffers the issue of things having too much sounds in 1 guy
Another shitty Dystopia ripoff with way too over detailed designs, out of place inconsistencies between colors, tones, and beats that don’t sound well together. Sounds that are obnoxiously "scary" and other sounds that are way too minor to even be noticeable by themselves, and don’t forget bonuses that tell a cryptic, uninteresting story through an automatic walking simulator about a society overrun by technology. I’m tired with mods that follow these exact cliches. Maybe So Far So Good knows exactly what they are doing by returning to their beatbox roots. We need more simple mods that aren’t over the top, as much as I like mods like Armed. I just want to see more mods that are more simple and humble. Travis was a futuristic mod in many ways (aside from the tribal characters) but it was simple, it’s characters fulfilled a purpose, it didn’t hurt to look at. It was memorable and well made and shows that you don’t have to follow every single cliche to make a futuristic mod. *EDIT:* now before die-hards continue to call me an evil heartless man for not liking this mod I do admit I am being rather harsh, but I stand by my point. This mod took a long time to develop and it was made by passionate people, but by calling this mod a shitty ripoff (which it honestly probably is) I’m not attempting to harass the developers but call attention to the obnoxious amount of repetition found in most Incredibox mods.
