I really like my 8x10 suncast shed! It's 4 years old and now my only complaint is the corners of the shed are cracking. From the inside I can see sunlight coming through in some areas at 2 corners. The corners are not two separate pieces that attach together, they're actually one solid piece that arrives flat in the shipping box and you bend it 90° to make a corner section. The area that bends is thin (about 1/16") flexible plastic. So basically one solid piece is going to split into two pieces, minimizing structural integrity. However, considering how much I like this shed I'm contemplating purchasing four pieces of aluminum angle & attaching them to every corner. I'll have to drill holes through the angles to attach them to the shed but I'm not complaining too much because EVERY shed requires upkeep. ALSO the front wall where the doors are isn't very solid. I purchased a cheap aluminum strip (you can get these at nearly every hardware store) & attached it to 1/4" unistrut nuts in the ridge beam (bar going front to back of shed) & door header beam. You could use steel but it's harder to bend. The only reason I can fit unistrut nuts in my ridge beam is because it was accidentally installed upside down, that's why a unitstrut nut worked for me. Otherwise just use a self-tapping screw WHILE WEARING SAFETY GLASSES to drill into this beam. The other end of the aluminum strip connects to the door header beam. Why this isn't included in the shed kit is beyond me because I feel it is absolutely necessary. Watched your video. Then studied the instructions and stood my Tremont up with 2 helpers in under 4 hours. Thanks so much or the video, super helpful and my shed is tight!
That's good news! Can you tell me how long it took to do the pre-assembly step? I need to hire someone to build mine and I want to be sure I'm charged a fair price. Thanks!
Very informative video. I just bought one of these sheds, and noticed that the handles appeared to be fake (non-functional). I came here to see if that was the norm, and my question was answered. Thank you!!
Did all pre assembly on 8x10 tremont...waiting for 2 son n laws ta come over soon and put walls and roof on...and then I'll tie up loose ends....so far has been fairly easy
Injust got mine on Wayfair. It was aabout $1800, and the placed it on special and on top I had a 15% coupon. I got it around $1680. Looks great. Will install today.
Start on the left side, it went together pretty well. My floor didn't line up right, had about 1/4 in gap in the back left piece, played with it and got the outside diameter to line up.
Very well done video Stewart. I bought one to build & convert into a cat shelter (I have a mini cat rescue). I'm going to install shelving, have doggie doors installed and I contacted Suncast to find out they do have some windows I can purchase to install. In your video you said it took approximately 5-6 hours to assemble. Does that include the pre-assembly time as well? Also, it looks fairly simple to disassemble (what's your thoughts?). This is going up temporarily, until I move. Thanks!
This helped. Just bought mine today to off some storage to convert my actual 3 car garage into an office and small gym. How did you configure your power you ran to the shed? Did you cut a hole or ran it through the vents?
Yes I bought a some 1.5in plastic conduit and cut a hole in the back wall to run the extension cord. I caulked around the pipe. I’m not using much load so extension cord was fine in my case.
A few questions, please - 1. How wide are the double doors edge-to-edge when both are swung fully open? I had my eyes on the same shed and would need to move the fence anyway. 2. Do you need any workspace in the back when putting up the back wall and the roof? If so, how much would you recommend? 3. You bolted the floor to the concrete slab at the end. I thought you'd always have to bolt the floor to the concrete slab before commencing erecting walls and things. In your opinion, which would make more sense? 4. I (will) have 110VAC at the site. Does the shed have any provision, such as anchor holes for conduits, for overhead work lights? I intend to use the space for my work bench and need power for my tools. Thanks in advance for your answers.
I seriously thinking about it. I know the biggest issue is the foundation. I'm only going 8x10 but I plan to use the block and wooden frame style foundation. I'm treating the wood with sealant then plywood on top of the wood. It's going to be a long job. Anyone tried the steel prefabed foundation?
Candace should be assembled if you only have access from the inside. I only have about 12 inches of space all the way around the outside so it may be difficult to work around the perimeter
Hey just a question - can we replace the locks or door handles on these sheds? Having a hard time figuring out if I can buy a replacement part on this shed. Wonderful video - thank you!
Working good for me, I cut twice a week. Does sometimes struggle if you let grass get too long or if your trying to scalp a yard. There is a boost setting though sometimes helps. But I cut often it doesn’t stress. I bought used and last year could cut my .5 acre yard 3 times before charging.. this year about 1 time as I think I need to replace batteries. They are probably still oem batteries so several years old. I knew buying it they may need replaced.
Thank you for the video. I'm leaning towards Suncast versus Lifetime however I would prefer a 10x8 instead of 8x10. Based on my searches Suncast doesn't make a 10x8. What were the dimensions for the concrete slab? If the shed is 8x10 I'm guessing maybe 9x11 for the slab not counting the concrete ramp?
9x11 would be good. I made my slab I bit smaller. Essentially when I did the measurements I gave 3 inches of space on each side. So + 6 inches on the width and length. I recommend going to the Menards website and looking at the demensions as the actual size isn’t exactly 8x10. I think it’s a couple inches bigger. www.menards.com/main/outdoors/sheds-accessories/sheds/suncast-reg-tremont-reg/bms8100/p-1444444189057-c-9658.htm

nice video - to save cost and not have to rent a van from Menards, do you think the 2 boxes would fit in a say the back of a Jeep cherokee sport? based on the video, my visual view thinks it might but do you recall the size of the boxes (Length, width)?
I don’t think it will. My van fits 8x4 sheets of osb board easy and these were not going to fit so I had to get a trailer. But, you could go up to Menards and give the boxes a measure before you purchase.
@@StewartMotoring thanks for the quick reply, I think I might just bite the bullet and rent a van from Menards for $30 bucks. You wife doesn't look happy. Strange, they say the couple that builds a shed together stays together :> Good shed and good looking couple. Any updates? I heard some of the rubbermaid ones had walls that bow out.
Hey looking into buying this shed for my yard - quick question. What are the measurements of the boxes the parts initially come in? Want to make sure I have a large enough vehicle to pick them up in.
Where should I place this 10 by 8 shed in my 54’ wide and 50’ depth backyard? Should I place it at the corner with a 2 feet clearance? Facing which direction? my backyard faces west. Thanks
I did, I use some tapcon concrete anchors with the correct size drill bit in a couple spots on the floor. Only used 4-5 of them and they weren’t very long. Probably 2-3 inches long. Put a washer on them as well. Hope that helps

If you really want this size shed, there are options. First one I think of is laying like 2ftx2ft pavers on the side. Adds extra room, maybe gives you a walk way? Just a thought.
When you put the metal hinges on the door how did you do it? Cause I noticed the round part is still molded to the door did you have to cut it or just fight with it a little bit to get the bracket on?

I did the same shed but I poured a 12 x 9 slab. This left room in front of the door way and roughly a few inches around the shed. Look at the shed dimensions, remember the dimensions for assembled size is larger than the interior dimensions. The sun cast tremont shed assembled size is 8’ 4-1/2” and 10 ft 2-1/4”.
I made the cement pad about 3 inches wider than the shed on each side and then in the front made the ramp. It was about 250~300 dollars for the concrete pour and I spread it myself
Can you slide it to a different location once it has bin put together? IT BLOCKS MY KITCHEN WINDOW NOW I DIDN'T RELIZE IT WAS GOING TO BLOCK THE WINDOW
