I have a query to ask ma'am about the temperature of atmosphere one - like in general asking about atmosphere not traposphere only what I mean is the top level of the atmosphere will be exposed to far more radiation than the troposphere what I actually mean is I know the greenhouse effect of the atmosphere that the ghg gases have provided throughout the years and keep the temperature warmer in comparison to the higher altitudes up to the tropopause but what I mean to say is the upper atmosphere is exposed to much much higher intensity of the solar radiation which turned up to 200 degree Celsius so as the UPSC ask which thing that heated atmosphere more the incoming solar radiation or the greenhouse gases so can it be possible that the incoming solar radiation is the thing that the upper atmosphere is being heated more than the ghg as the UPSC asks and if it's been asking about atmosphere in general not just the troposphere as I said.
This question will be answered in coming lecture when we will discuss green house gases, for now just understand GHGs act transparent to incoming radiation and act opaque to out going terrestrial radiation …. This is why terrestrial radiation is going to cause more heat …. We will discuss this
