Purple angel...Will come and see us today...and stay by our side? Will comfort us tonight in our dreams...And I can hear your answer..."I see you every day...I live in your dreams every night" "I watch over you...I love you"..."I LOVE YOU!"
This is fantastic love it....I went to Minneapolis in June and the place, Paisley Park and First Avenue are such great places to visit....I'm from the UK
I sure miss Prince. I'm from Minneapolis/St. Paul and a musician. I was in a band in the 80s when purple rain came out. What a crazy fun time we had. I've met many of the people in this video, except for Prince and a few others. The Minnesota music scene was very tight knit back then.
Can't stop thinking about you, still can't listen to your work, more than a couple of songs, so I keep stranding, but listening to all these 1st person narrations keeps you with us! Stay around 4 Ever, the most beautiful One!!!
This 10 minute documentary says it exactly right. Prince was a legend who changed the industry, was a pioneer, and was THE musicians musician. A unique wonder of my lifetime. He will be remembered more for the work he did changing the industry, but to me he was the ultimate musician. Is it just me or did it seem that being a Prince fan felt like being part of a cult, even at his peak? Anyway, pleased I lived to see the great man perform. Superstar!!!
Prince was the consummate musical renaissance man, and he went to eleven with respect to all categories by which we have to measure the talent of a given artist: singer; musician; songwriter (on multiple instruments -- not just guitar); composer; performer; dancer/choreographer; producer; bandleader; fashion sense; acting; showman; business acumen. I struggle to name anyone else in the music industry, before, during and since, who was as was on-point on so many levels as Prince was.
I remember when a co-worker of mine told me about Prince. Late 70s and because she was dating one of the Gordy kids, she was getting in on music early. She played Soft and Wet for me, and I never looked back. Prince forever RIP!
Prince has always been my #1 favorite musician since I was a kid read all his bio,s when I was a teenager Prince and a few more in the music was responsible for making me the great man I am to this day and lead me to Jesus Christ. Prince is beyond special I've argued and argued with people all my life over Prince because I've understood from the beginning who he is and what he's about I Love you Prince
The music alone to this day cannot be duplicated no tribute band can touch come close to or supersede those 9 songs from the film. The intro from When Doves Cry is so amazing I never heard a guitar sound like that. The intro to Let's Go Crazy and its finale is just amazing. As for the movie I accepted it for what it was, critics had thier day with it but it played put perfectly as a band typical of indifference and dysfunction trying to work it out.One line that stuck with me was the drummer who said "We're still a band right" .They were up against 7 members of the Time including Jerome Benton. But 6 as the musical aspect of it.The music and the performances was probably what Purple Rain will be most remembered for.
J Crash Yes it did, you stupid fuck. The success of Thriller led to Purple Rain's success. Prince was on Jackson's coat tails. When Thriller was on top, 1999 and Purple Rain trailed behind. At the end of the day, Thriller - 110 million albums sold, Purple Rain - 24 million albums sold.
@@clue104 clue104 im so sorry to say this but I saw MJ an number of times live like i saw Prince, but Prince every time made MJ looked nailed to the floor. So glad to be part of that era. There is no other time I'd rather be in.
Prince was awesome, a true genius, he is so very missed.
Damn! Glad I lived to witness his raw talent and fire. I wonder what drove him, he was magnificent.
He will always be my favorite. He is 1 year older than me so I have heard him practically all my life and his music is like a sound track for me.
