You know they messed Quint up when: 1. He's not even in 10's DLC (Not a MMK, I know) 2. When the fans make a better boss fight and/or him more interesting (8BDM for the former, Quints Revenge for the latter.
Idea: since he is a future version of mega man he should have the mega man 10/11 weapons to Make the fight harder, make the fight more unique and Feel like he actually from the future .
It's funny how many people trash this soundtrack but I'd rather have original tracks than just reusing ones we've already heard. I absolutely love Magnet Man's theme in this game. The gameboy games are a blast and growing up with a gameboy as a kid I gotta say these are some of the best nes to gb conversions next to tetris.
@@UnitNo.2 Agreed. Though, I will say that I prefer the soundtrack to Mega Man 1 on Game Boy to those of Mega Man 3 & 4 simply because the arrangements are so different from their NES counterparts. Mega Man 3 & 4 tried to get the music as close to the original as possible.
I love the soundtrack. You can tell the devs understood music in Mega Man games had a certain energy and they captured it, but not all of them were as catchy as their NES versions. I still love the OST.
The music is much better when put down an octave to sound as intended. RushJet1 has a high quality fixed version of the soundtrack on RUclips. Still, I agree with you it’s not up to Mega Man’s high standards for stage music themes but I do like it.
There's nothing particularly wrong with the musical compositions themselves, they were just programmed in the wrong octave (as mentioned) and given almost no effects, such as tremolo or pitch bends, which normally breathe a ton of life into 8-bit compositions. For anyone who's interested, Tpcool did a redux of the OST that sounds _way_ more in line with how the rest of the GB titles sound.
great video as always, and I can tell you're getting more used to this due to how emotive you are now and all the silly little edits, although after a super negative review I expected a lower score, but aside from that, great job! Can't wait for Super Mario Bros!
A bit loud at points, but good video nonetheless! I still have yet to play MMII, but just seeing someone else play it feels like experiencing an anomaly.
Good review! Yeah, this is definitely the weakest of the GameBoy Mega Man entries. Luckily, they bounced back with the sequels! There are a couple patches that fix some of the sprites and greatly fix the music of this game, but, sady, the core gameplay isn't repaired. It is a shame Capcom didn't get Minakuchi Engineering to develop this game properly.
@@angelriverasantana7755 Oh, that's right. I forgot they were tied up with many other GameBoy games at the time. Well, at least the other Mega Man Game Boy titles were actually good. Though, not particularly a huge fan of Dr. Wily's Revenge.
not going to lie... I didn't play it back in the day, played it for the first time downloading roms and when it loaded my first thought was "Oh crap did I download a pirate game with the same name by accident?" it was more alarming than my first encounter with Tetris GB version 1.0 hearing minuet.
Love this game. I enjoy all the gb Mega Man games. The original tracks on the gb are absolutely some of the best. Magnet Man's theme is awesome and the title to Mega Man IV on gb is one of the best in the entire series.
Yup, I have to admit, this one is pretty bad. A 3/10 may actually be a bit on the generous side. From what I remember though, the rest range from much better to really good. I hope you fully review both the sets of 8-bit Mega Man games in due time.
Hey speaking of Mario bros can you play the wii all stars collection, i don’t remember alot of it but my friend will hates it and says it has the worst input delay in a Mario game, ild like to see your take on it. Maby compare it to og too
Great detailed analysis! It’s clear you did your homework and you make a lot of solid points.

Don't forget about Rockman Shadow from the WonderSwan MM&B game.
hey... he has a maybe (not entirely clear) second appearance in Rockman and Forte for the Wonder Swan...that's got to count for something right?
its not quint

Honestly, I love the soundtrack from this game. I just don't like the sound. The compositions themselves were very good and very "Mega Man."

Definitely check out the redux Tpcool did for this game's soundtrack, it 100% feels like how the compositions were 'meant' to have sounded.

@@KBXband For sure. It has that unmistakable "Mega Man" sound and earworm-ness.

mega man world 2 is that one game that just makes you want to play quints revenge or that one mega man maker based remake instead
That music hurts my ears. Great video still and have played this one.
Great Video! I can't wait for the Super Mario Bros Review, and I could tell you had a blast! Keep having fun, man!

What?! How dare you… oh you mean the GameBoy version. Yeah that one sucks.

It didn't help that Minakuchi was busy with other ports to GB, like Bionic Commando

Also, Thinking Rabbit was more inclined with making Soukoban games, so Capcom choosing them is quite baffling
I dunno, I welcome a Mega Man game I can breeze through especially after MM GB 1. While it has many flaws, I enjoy this game overall.
Rockman world 2 was made in 2 months (if not less)
Megaman 7 was made in 3
Megaman 2 and 3 were made in 4
Man capcom sure loves rushing games out

It can't be worse than DOS and DOS3 hahaha
I wonder what is more useless. The cane in Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde or Sakugarne 😂
definetly the cane
@@maksxx5437 I'd argue Sarkugarne because at least the Cane doesn't actively kill you.
Awesome video
Keep in mind that the terrible passive matrix gb screen meant that this game was much more difficult on real hardware.

first game boy game was a 3/10 and this is also a 3/10 what world do we live in
jk good video lol
thats a bit harsh... the music on the first game gets it up at least 2 stars.
dw i was just joking around. The first game isnt that bad, this game is just boring lol
