This is so helpful Karen. I went from zero into painting projects and find I am catching up on the basics which I haven’t learned -thank you so much for this.
Thanks for this Karen. I’ve dabbled with acrylics recently and had mixed results. I’m definitely going to try this though as I love the simplicity and think it might reboot me! Lovely tutorial, as ever. 🎨
So pleased you found this helpful Deborah. I deliberately painted it simply to build confidence. I hope you it gives you the reboot you are looking for and thank you for your lovely comment! :)
I have some oil paints which were bought for me as a present. Can I use them the same as acrylic paints , but using the solvent instead of water. Also can you blow dry oil paints due to the drying taking longer .
Hi Kim, yes you can use them in a similar way to acrylics. You are right you will have to use solvents to thin them and clean the brushes. Although there are alternatives out there...Let me know if you would like some recommendations. Unfortunately you cannot blow dry the oils, you just have to wait for them to dry naturally. If something goes wrong though you can scrape off with a palette knife or wipe off with an old cloth. Hope you enjoy using them. If you have any other questions, please let me know :)
@@karenricepaintingchannel4664 thank you for replying so quickly. I will have a go, and carry on painting with watercolours whilst the oil is drying. 🙂
Hi Sharon, thanks for your support on my watercolour Patreon. I don't at present have an acrylic Patreon membership, but may do so in the near future.... watch this space 😊
