It's not a typical day for any officer to have to lay down suppressive fire. Even after he tried to kill them, they licked his wounds before booking him. If he was of color, I don't think he would have a chance to live, and they probably would have beaten him to death.

I’m very much a fan of these incident reviews - as someone who is both concerned with officer safety as well as conduct, I appreciate this chance to see these situations and how they unfold. I think these reviews go a long way to showing how dedicated and professional most of our police force is, while at the same time providing ample evidence to prohibit police bad actors and misconduct against members of the civilian community. Excellent professional content. Excellent handling of a shootout. Excellent performance without death or serious injuries on both teams. This was handled professionally by the book. The suspect surrendered when the police went tactical and organized. He knew that there was zero chances of getting out alive. He surrendered placing his existence in jail. This was a video compilation and editing by the book. Phoenix police department was tight with this one. 10/10.
I don't care about the suspect. I care about the civilians there as the police were blindly firing on 2 windows just for "cover" fire without seeing the target. Over 20 years ago I went out to our backyard to check some commotion. Unknown to me the police were chasing a fugitive who had fired at them. I was there standing unmindfully, luckily the police did not return fire blindly to the direction of the suspect. I could have been hit.
It's honestly crazy to think this happened right down the street from us, seeing this unfold live was probably one of the most wild things I'll ever get to see. Bless the officers and everything they did.

"More student can get hurt" also applies to them sitting outside the school setting up a perimeter for hours, the scene of an active shooter is never going to be safe until the officers take action. @@grantrichards7128 actually, police protocol in an active shooter situation is exactly that. Go in and immediately make contact. If you watch such bodycam footage as the Pulse Nightclub or the Vegas shooting, you will see officers doing a perfect job of engaging. This became protocol after Columbine because the officers refused to breach the school, especially in the library and instead waited outside while shots rang out the whole time. It's part of being a cop. If they can't be prepared for that, they need to find another job.

When those two police officers are behind the truck, discussing their plan to shoot at the target while running for better cover, must be a super intense, stressful moment. 😬 I cant even imagine having to run through a possible line of fire to get to a safer location. I think I would freeze up and not be able to move from my first location. Police officers deserve so much more respect than they receive.

They use cover fire when they need to get away. “Blindly firing” is called blind fire, that’s is when you fire your weapon without being on your sight like sticking it around cover or above cover and shooting while you cant see what you are aiming at.

They knew the house was armed, so they had to kill the house. The house was trying to flee, so, for Officer safety, they had to pump a few hundred rounds into the house, pain compliance technique. Next week they are going to dog pile any non-compliant houses! I’m sure you would understand when you got home to your house riddled with bullets that you brought it on yourself by owning a firearm and having ammunition in your house for any random person that breaks into your home could have access to. Have you learned anything here? I used this tactic more than once when I was in combat. It’s called “Recon by fire.” Just mag dump blindly into an area where you are not sure if there is a threat. Anything left standing when you’re done usually doesn’t want to play anymore. Their book doesn’t suck, if their book is for a Terminator movie. The only thing I consider a success was the suspect was taken into custody, ALIVE, and with only minor injuries. That’s refreshing.
Honestly these officers did fantastically. The tactics used were clean, clear, concise. Good communication, everyone kept eyes on suspect, no one got brazen and tried to stoke the fire, and everyone knew their role. Well done to those officers and God bless them.
Lol except they completely botched the movement to the secondary position by spraying and praying. Cops like to think of them as the elite but any boot out of infantry School knows how to do movement under fire. They could maybe learn something from an 18 year old PFC.
Communication behind that vehicle was not clear, clean and concise. Fortunately, they were not pinned down and had time to repeat a couple times the plan and target for suppression fire. The one officer did not seem clear on his target. They finally figured it out and moved, as we saw. It was great to have such a great view and audio of their tactics. Great training aid!
Who pays for it? The police don't have to and the scumbag criminal responsible probably doesn't have a penny to his name. The family has to find someplace else to live for weeks, if not months while everything is replaced or fixed.

These are very brave men. My heart started to pound when the first shots were heard. They were in the open at first. This is how all police should work. They protected the community and caught the criminal's without killing people. Great job.

Great work by the officers, but way too many of these creeps end up back on the street after only a few years in prison. In high tense situations like this, communicate what the other persons needs to know, first. “You take top left, I take top right.” If you say “I’ll take top right, you take top left” they might forget the first thing you said if it doesn’t directly relate to them, &/ could block out the second half because they noted the info relevant to them (at the end) (forgetting) resulting in the information being repeated until fully understood.

If you listen they corrected their plan to switch windows so they had better sectors. The least experienced of the 2 has 13 years, they knew each other and communicated well and confirmed the plan before they moved. @@bldshd189 aggravated assault which each ag assault charge is 10-20 years per count. Add on law enforcement enhanced its more. It’s the same as attempted murder but it’s easier to convict on. That’s why you see a lot of suspects get charged with that instead of attempted murder. Gotta love internet law experts. He’s looking at 170-340 years in prison.

@@kidcurry2273 Yes, this happens, eg wild fires, or something like 9/11. But it's not that way every day all the time. Not even close. It's mostly training, working out, keeping equipment clean, cooking, bunking, etc.
If you want to go to some of the cleanest bathrooms out there, go to a firehouse. They have a lot of down time.

"More student can get hurt" also applies to them sitting outside the school setting up a perimeter for hours, the scene of an active shooter is never going to be safe until the officers take action. Cowardice killed more children than a potential negligent discharge ever could have in that scenario.
@@grantrichards7128 actually, police protocol in an active shooter situation is exactly that. Go in and immediately make contact. If you watch such bodycam footage as the Pulse Nightclub or the Vegas shooting, you will see officers doing a perfect job of engaging. This became protocol after Columbine because the officers refused to breach the school, especially in the library and instead waited outside while shots rang out the whole time. It's part of being a cop. If they can't be prepared for that, they need to find another job.

When those two police officers are behind the truck, discussing their plan to shoot at the target while running for better cover, must be a super intense, stressful moment. 😬 I cant even imagine having to run through a possible line of fire to get to a safer location. I think I would freeze up and not be able to move from my first location.
Police officers deserve so much more respect than they receive.
I love that once he surrendered they didn't hold the fact that he was shooting in their direction against him and handled it professionally.

They use cover fire when they need to get away. “Blindly firing” is called blind fire, that’s is when you fire your weapon without being on your sight like sticking it around cover or above cover and shooting while you cant see what you are aiming at.

They knew the house was armed, so they had to kill the house. The house was trying to flee, so, for Officer safety, they had to pump a few hundred rounds into the house, pain compliance technique. Next week they are going to dog pile any non-compliant houses! I’m sure you would understand when you got home to your house riddled with bullets that you brought it on yourself by owning a firearm and having ammunition in your house for any random person that breaks into your home could have access to. I used this tactic more than once when I was in combat. It’s called “Recon by fire.” Just mag dump blindly into an area where you are not sure if there is a threat. Anything left standing when you’re done usually doesn’t want to play anymore.
Their book doesn’t suck, if their book is for a Terminator movie.
The only thing I consider a success was the suspect was taken into custody, ALIVE, and with only minor injuries. That’s refreshing.

Honestly these officers did fantastically. The tactics used were clean, clear, concise. Good communication, everyone kept eyes on suspect, no one got brazen and tried to stoke the fire, and everyone knew their role. Well done to those officers and God bless them.
Lol except they completely botched the movement to the secondary position by spraying and praying.
Cops like to think of them as the elite but any boot out of infantry School knows how to do movement under fire. They could maybe learn something from an 18 year old PFC.

Communication behind that vehicle was not clear, clean and concise. Fortunately, they were not pinned down and had time to repeat a couple times the plan and target for suppression fire. The one officer did not seem clear on his target. They finally figured it out and moved, as we saw. It was great to have such a great view and audio of their tactics. Great training aid!

These are very brave men. My heart started to pound when the first shots were heard. They were in the open at first. This is how all police should work. They protected the community and caught the criminal's without killing people. Great job.

I would like to thank all the great,honest cops and their families. These cops did a great job. Glad they were not hurt. I don't like the justice system. Jail / prison is a revolving door to many.
Talk about revolving door, he only got 17 counts of assault!! He might not of even gotten anytime after he plead that down. Maybe just probation that’s crazy, but someone with drugs will get double digits.. that’s what I don’t understand

Great work by the officers, but way too many of these creeps end up back on the street after only a few years in prison. This crime alone should be enough to tell anyone with a grain of common sense that this guy will cause nothing but trouble for the remainder of his life. And you know this isn't the 1st time he's pulled a stunt like this.
Hate to say it but it might have been better for him to just get smoked...but I understand why they did it, they had an opportunity to de-escalate without losing any officers lives so that was probably the best choice. Maybe he ran out of ammo lol

These cops aren’t always scared for their lives. This allowed them to be remain calm and composed. Great job 👏🏾. No bystanders and no suspects killed.
They were definitely afraid for their lives, that's just the natural reaction to bullets flying at you. Anyone who doesn't fear for their life will lose it quickly.

“You take top left, I take top right.”
If you say “I’ll take top right, you take top left” they might forget the first thing you said if it doesn’t directly relate to them, &/ could block out the second half because they noted the info relevant to them (at the end) (forgetting) resulting in the information being repeated until fully understood.

If you listen they corrected their plan to switch windows so they had better sectors. The least experienced of the 2 has 13 years, they knew each other and communicated well and confirmed the plan before they moved. They don't need to be the top graduate at ranger school, their skills where more than sufficient

@@bldshd189 aggravated assault which each ag assault charge is 10-20 years per count. Add on law enforcement enhanced its more. It’s the same as attempted murder but it’s easier to convict on. That’s why you see a lot of suspects get charged with that instead of attempted murder. Gotta love internet law experts. He’s looking at 170-340 years in prison.
