I won’t lie- the job I applied to and am moving for had a mixup and forgot to send me the background check so I didn’t get the job offer until way later than expected and these might have been how I was coping… but now I have to move them LOL
The thrift stores that get these in Japan usually have like one photoset of a similar product that they use for every listing of that product. I got a Sailor Moon Pizza Bike from one of these types of stores on ebay and the photo they used showed it broken and what arrived was not broken! So maybe that doll was actually brand new and the store was reusing photos of a previous doll they sold to save time.
I forgot the pic for the listing of Mami but I was mistaken anyways! She was dressed in her pic. I was wrong on her price though. I paid a little under $350 USD for her. Also the dolls retailed for $600 apparently I was very mistaken! Current resale does sit at $800+ normally though.
What a deal you got. Especially being hard to get and find here. Great additions to your collection. Thank you for sharing them. I just love your videos.
Someone may have already said but the Cure Milky item at 5:20 is a gummy case! Bit of an odd item, but every year in Japan you can buy Precure themed gummies at supermarkets with packaging and gummy shapes matching the seasons theme. In Star Twinkle they kinda used that to promote the gummies. You can see it in Lala's solo part in the OP, and at about 7:40 of episode 2!

as a non-collector of japanese doll brands i love watching these videos and just learning about foreign doll brands, even if i have no intent to collect them! those pretty cute dolls have me tempted but north american releases already have me broke💀
I find these videos fascinating because it opens a whole new world of dolls I never knew existed, or would have had any reason to ever know did. Honestly, gaining the experience to know how to shop for these is a skill set.

5:30 ‘プリキュアコスモグミケース’ says Precure Cosmo Gummy Case (in english). its a gummy candy case, i looked it up and there are pictures of it with gummies. idk anything about precure so idk what its based on. it may just be the merchandise’s original design

I was at a con like ten years ago and saw a doll about American girl doll size maybe a bit bigger with probably the same range of motion. Would you happen to know of her? the only thing else I remember is she was in a full window box and her outfit seemed like you where supposed to buy or make outfits for her. Seemed more like a toy then a display piece stilled seemed pretty cute. I just dont remember who she was or who made her.
my dream Japanese dolls are the mermaid melody ones. The other releases are all excellent. My all time grail is a nib live in concert and Tokyo a gogo collection. (Also the head games doll that has the same screening)
cure milky's brooch-looking thing is a gummy case! the past three seasons have had one and usually makes a cameo in the anime. they make good little trinkets, the healin good cases look like little smoothie cups and the tropical rouge ones are these (imo) gorgeous little bottles.

I strongly dislike fromJapan as their shipping and fees are suspiciously high. Buyee is pretty good and the only option for Mercari Japan. I mostly end up using Zenmarket because it’s very user friendly and I get the best shipping rates by far

Mami is still my favorite character, even how much of a drop Ep 10 was. It was so nice to see more of Mami in it and all of her vulnerabilites.
