I decided to watch this on a whim before delving into Eiseley for the first time by reading the Library of America box set of his works. Your analysis and commentary put me in the right frame of mind to get started. I hope to circle back and watch again after I finish. Thanks for posting this. Excellent work.
A book I have read repeatedly since I first came across it in the mid-60's. I very much enjoyed your talk, the selections/moments you have pointed out, and the perspectives into which you place Eiseley's thoughts. Thank you. (I don't know what course this is, but it does sound like it was interesting and unique.)
Absolutely, and thanks - this is exactly the kind of cue I need! I’ve got some course-related content planned for the moment, but Eiseley will go to the top of the list after that.
Siderial "saı'dıerıel" is what my dictionary showing me ;) British and American english differ once again. Bonus: SIderial has its roots in consider - "thinking below the stars"
interesting author interesting you put him as a transcendentalist as well the approach is different from what i see but the motivation may well have been the same

one of my favorite books. Eisley is the transcendent biologist
His style is marvelous, read him after Bradbury's reccomendation!
Deeply enjoyed this lecture and the speaker's voice. Great production value as well!

Thank you for the analysis, eagerly awaiting your next video.
Kindly add some of Eiseley's books for discussion as well.
I know it's asking, but you've a lovely voice and clearly think much of Eisley, could you read more of him for us?
