The song’s title “Pittsburgh” is a reference to lead singer Joel Birch’s near death experience during Vans Warped Tour, near Pittsburgh. Due to extreme dehydration and too much alcohol, Joel collapsed and suffered a seizure, even stating in an interview that he “went blue and my heart stopped”.
