I dropped out in the tenth grade to get a job to help my family. I am smarter than ninety-five percent of these idiots in the maga movement. I'll be sixty this year, with common sense and street smarts. I'm really shocked to see that so much of America doesn't have that.

My father was born in 1910 in the back country hills of Arkansas. He had no opportunity for formal education. He did, however, strive his entire life to educate himself. He was widely regarded as an intelligent man, being well read and intelligent. My high school teachers on more than one occasion in answer to a question on history or math told me to ask my dad when he got home. It was good advice. Lauren's head is only as good as her will to learn. It is increasingly obvious that she has no will to learn, only to talk. "
It is usually better to remain silent and be thought a fool than to open your mouth and remove all doubt. Anybody that still doubts Lauren's lack of intelligence may just be a bigger fool than she is.

My dad had to leave school at 14 during WWII to work on the railway (in the UK. He had some interesting stories!). He had to help with the family finances too.
I have 3 sisters, two of whom went to uni, one has a master's degree, the other trained as a nanny, and I left school at 17 but started a part-time degree with the Open University at 19. By then I was working at a university library (I have worked in a number of different libraries - my favourite job!). The following summer I went to summer school with the OU, met this nice guy, and this September is our 36th anniversary.
In between Dad leaving school and retiring, he took countless courses. When he went to work at the steelworks, he got a qualification in metallurgy. When my mum had a stroke, he used the knowledge gained from an evening class (in which he and his best mate, both in their 70s, came top of the class in the exam. The rest of the class.had teens and businessmen!) to create a book of images for Mum to use to communicate with him. She even got some of her speech back - something the doctors said she'd never do. He always knew what he didn't know, and set about learning it.
He is - despite being gone nearly 10 years - still my hero. During my life since meeting my husband, I have got two bachelor degrees, one of which my parents were able to attend the graduation ceremony. My sister with the master's had got it with the same uni, and we planned to complete our degrees at the same time so they could see us both. Had I not seen Dad preservere with his education throughout my life, I'm not sure if I'd have done it all.
I used my love for learning - alongside my husband who has a similar history to me despite both his parents being teachers and then head teachers - to influence my own 4 kids. 3 have degrees, one of them is a PhD medical biochemist (way smarter than me!) and the other has her specific qualifications in her field of educational social work.
Dad was never stupid. His teachers would get frustrated with him for not succeeding when they knew he could. Now, because of the way things have worked out, we think he may well have been on the Asperger's spectrum (my 2nd son is, and we think I am too, but at near 60 I can't be arsed to find out lol.) I would get cross with him for calling himself stupid because despite knowing many highly intelligent people, I still think he was the cleverest person I ever knew.
Qualifications mean squat. It's what you do with your life that makes the difference. And given your story, I think you'd be in the same "class" as my dad. Too smart for your own good at times 😉! Keep your head held high, you're a great success!
