Actually, I have struggled for years to retain my faith in God.
I'm more likely to be faithful when everything was just fine in my life.
But in the darkest years, there is no reason for faith.
The feeling is that God exists for the world, but not for me.
Still, I cling on, I knock, I pray. Hope never dies.

Most of the biblical suffering that was quoted is about the persecution for preaching the gospel of Christ after his death, and not so much about psycho-social-economical suffering

    • @gsnipernew3.070

Not true, I also used to think so but the truth is different.
Paul used the word perplexed. It's the result of Psychological suffering.
Early Christinas were living in fear of persecution from the Jews first and then Romans and were living and worshiping in fear, They were even hiding in caves. It's social suffering.
Paul talks about his own lack of money and of the fellow brethren in many occasions. Its economical suffering.

“So by suffering the Father would lead us to enter more deeply into the love of Christ. Our hearts are continually prone to wander from Him; prosperity and enjoyment all too easily satisfy us, dull our spiritual perception, and unfit us for full communion with Himself.
God allows us to suffer in the hope that, when we have found our rest in Christ in time of trouble, we shall learn to choose abiding in Him as our only portion; and when the affliction is removed, have so grown more firmly into Him, that in prosperity He still shall be our only joy.”

tbh this whole concept is the one that is the most incomprehendable. I can't agree with what Piper said, experientially, about having a closer connection to God in God inflicted suffering. at least certainly not since I finally was brought to kneel before God . my suffering in the past is understandable, I was guilty and had no right to expect anything Good when I was a sinner...He had to take nearly everything away of what little I had, broken to the point of total despair.
but post salvation I've been repeatedly been lost in despair all the more.
it seems like such a contradiction of much of the Scripture message.
is my torment punishment for sin? if I'm saved by Jesus and His complete satisfaction of the execution of judgement for sin is given to me, that means Gods Wrath is completely satisfied. so pouring out more wrath on me would be a contradiction of the perfection of Christ's rightious atonement.

Suffering is a blinking red light that demands our attention. It's a sign that something is amiss. Physically, spiritually, emotionally. I suffer because I am seperated from my God. I suffer because I enjoy sin more than spending time with Him or doing things His way. I suffer because I do not seek His Healing for my mind, body, soul. I suffer because I allow how I handled past trauma to dictate how I handle present stress.
His yoke is easy, His burden is LIGHT.
    He suffered in our place!
Whatever is causing you to suffer... imagine how that killed Jesus.
Because our suffering is nothing compared to His suffering.
God's will is done in heaven.. in heaven there is no suffering AT ALL OF ANY KIND.
God's will is no suffering at all of any kind.
    We still suffer here.
    Because He suffered here.
He suffered because of everything that causes our suffering.
You mourn a lost child? How much more did Jesus mourn that lost child?
How much more did that crushing loss you feel, crush Him?
    Jesus wept at Lazerus' grave.
He wept at the grief of others.
He wept because it hurt Him MORE to lose Lazerus even for just a moment, even though He knew He would bring Him right back.
He wept at the lack of faith and knowing Him and His heart.
Jesus didn't take your child to teach you a lesson.
For a child to die in the womb, there is a lack or dysfunction, either in the child or the mother.
That lack or dysfunction, wherever it was, KILLED Jesus.
    It destroyed Him.
So that child would no longer experience any form of lack or dysfuction...
    That child is now ALIVE.
We experience lack and dysfunction (and therefore, suffering) every day of our lives.... because we are seperated from Him.
The closer we get to Him, the closer we get to the end of suffering. His yoke is easy... His burden is light.
He loves. He heals. He forgives. He cleanses. He restores. He blesses.
Don't worry about what is wrong... what hurts...
    Worry about Who heals...Who restores
Draw near to Him and He will draw near to you.
    God bless!

Because of what Jesus Christ accomplished for us we can know that we are loved, accepted and forgiven. We are important, have meaning and purpose and have been equipped by the endwelling Holy Spirit and empowered to live out the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

John Piper makes a very good point that the New Testament connects suffering and joy over and over again.
At first sight, suffering and joy seem to contradict each other, and I would suggest this is one of the main reasons why so-called Prosperity Gospel teaching exists. Many Christians can't understand how suffering and joy can fit together, they see that the Bible teaches joy, so they assume that Christians who are following Jesus closely shouldn't suffer. And then they explain away a multitude of biblical passages which teach that Christians can expect to suffer.
Basically, they exalt their own ability to understand above biblical revelation.

    • @oswaldcobblepot502
      @oswaldcobblepot502 Год назад +1

I have never felt any joy with suffering and never will. Once I learned that God actually WANTS me to suffer and even sends it my way, I closed him off completely. I shredded my Bible, shredded my gospel pamphlets, and closed my mouth from sharing the word completely, once and for all.

    • @maxaplin4204
      @maxaplin4204 Год назад

@@oswaldcobblepot502 I am very sorry to hear that, not only that you have suffered (I assume significantly) but also because you haven't understood what was going on.
God's will for Christians to suffer is similar to the will of parents of a child who is seriously ill with cancer to suffer while undergoing chemotherapy. The parents know that the chemo is a horrible experience, yet they know that it is going to do their kid a lot of good. So it is their will that their kid suffers under the chemo.
You seem to imagine that God sadistically delights in the sufferings of Christians, but nothing could be further from the truth. It pains God to see his children suffer, yet he does it so as to work for their good through it all.
I would encourage you to consider that your thinking on this issue might be too simplistic. You aren't seeing things right. You're not going deep enough.
I also have suffered terribly at many times in my life, but I have seen a little bit deeper than you have. I am well aware that God is billions of times bigger than I am, with a vastly deeper understanding. And God has to be good. So, if at first sight, it seems that God is treating me badly, I always become persuaded that he can't be.
I would encourage you also to return to the Lord, trusting that he is good and that he cares about you. And it isn't as if God holds suffering at arm's length anyway. The sufferings of Jesus, the God-Man on the cross are way, way beyond what any of us have been through.

@maxaplin4204 What's even more disappointing is that an all capable "God" created no other avenue to navigate through a problem other than a slow, painful, horrific "chemotherapy" process of suffering, when he could have created a better alternative. But pain and suffering IS what God wants and he DOES intentionally inflict you with it. So don't tell me God is not a cruel sadist, because his actions prove it. I can't change the fact that God is a cruel monster, but what I CAN do is CLOSE MY MOUTH and prevent the Gospel from proceeding from my lips. I have been, and will continue to allow every lost man that God brings my way to pass on without hearing the message, so as long as it BURNS A HOLE IN GOD'S HEART, this is what I will do.

    • @maxaplin4204
      @maxaplin4204 Год назад

@@oswaldcobblepot502 It's too simplistic to say that because God allows suffering he must be a sadist. You are very overconfident of your ability to see the big picture.
The degree of bitterness you have is also quite something. You seem perfectly happy for people - who obviously have not wronged you in any way - to miss out on salvation just so you can inflict greater pain on God. That is very warped. You are prioritising hurting God over helping people.
Your attitude reminds me of the examples we sometimes see of a man who has been wronged by his wife, who hurts his own children to hurt his wife in revenge. His mindset is so full of hatred that he is prepared to see his own children suffer as long as his wife suffers. You seem to be prioritising hate over love, which is no way to live. It is destructive for everyone involved, not least yourself.

He doesn’t will that we suffer but He allows it and promises to use it for good. We have nothing to fear and we ultimately have eternal life! That’s how we can suffer joyfully - He doesn’t willingly afflict. Also we have the promise of discipline. Determinism is false.
For he does not willingly bring affliction or grief to anyone.

Discipline happens to make us more Holy.
In the context of an adult Christian this makes sense, and is biblical.
I struggle with understanding the point of suffering in abused young children. Any thoughts on how this can promote God's glory or make anyone more holy?

And he laid hold on the dragon, the old serpent, which is the Devil and Satan, and bound him for a thousand years, and cast him into the abyss, and shut it, and sealed it over him, that he should deceive the nations no more, until the thousand years should be finished: after this he must be loosed for a little time
Now it came to pass on the day when the sons of God came to present themselves before the Lord,
that Satan also came among them
For our wrestling is not against flesh and blood, but against the principalities, against the powers, against the world-rulers of this darkness, against the spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places
The LORD said to Satan, "Where have you come from?" Satan answered the LORD, "From going to and fro on the earth, and from walking up and down on it"

His disciples healed people, cast out demons, raised the dead and Jesus said, greater things than this, you will do, even calm storms and move mountains. So, what happened? Did Jesus lie, did he fail? Of course not, many Christians have done miracles and continue to do miracles. My hypothesis for why the world isn't as perfect as Jesus said it could be is this, as Jesus warned, wolves have crept in, false teachers abound, lies replaced truth. So who is harmed, but those causing the problems. Sad indeed. Feed the sheep and let the little child lead you, instead of feeding the sheep to the wolves.

I don't remember the details, and can't even remember the names, just the faces, of those teachers. It saddens me and makes me sick when I see Christians who know what sanctification is, and especially teachers and preachers, allowing the doctrines of the world into their hearts, their churches, and their lives.
I believe that for some it's coming from an honest, but misled, attempt to do the right thing. For others, it's because they want the world to love them and THEIR church, and to have their churches full. I've missed some of these pastors. But, a little leavine leavines the whole loaf. I guess I have decided to not listen to this after all. 😢

OSAS is false, and salvation is the central theme of Scripture, so you need to know this.
One sin is sufficient to damn a soul, even to the righteous. One sin cut the whole race off from God: "By one man sin entered into the world.... by one man's offense death reigned. ... by the offense of one, judgment came upon all men to condemnation.... by one man's disobedience many were made [constituted] sinners" (Rom. ‪5:12-21‬; Gen. ‪2:17‬; 3:1-19). One sin, whether committed before or after a person is saved, will have the same effect that the one original sin had. "When the righteous turneth away from his righteousness, and committeth iniquity . . . All his righteousness that he hath done shall not be mentioned . . . in the sin that he hath sinned, in them shall he die .... for his iniquity that he bath done shall he die" (Ezek. 18:24- 26). Again "The righteousness of the righteous shall not deliver him in the day of his transgression.... for the iniquity that he hath committed, he shall die for it (Ezek. 33:12-20).
    One sin cursed the whole race (Rom. ‪5:12-21‬); Cain (Gen. 4:8-13; 1 John 3:12); Pharaoh and Egypt (Ex. 3:2; Rom. ‪9:15-23‬); Nadab and Abihu (Lev. 10:1-7); Achan (Josh. 7); Gehazi (2 Ki. 5:20-27); Judas (Acts ‪1:25‬); Ananias and Sapphira (Acts 5:1-11); and many others (1 Tim. ‪1:19‬, 20; ‪2:14‬; ‪5:11‬, 12, 15, 20; ‪6:10‬; 2 Tim. ‪2:18‬, 26; ‪4:10‬; Heb. ‪4:11‬; 1 Cor. 10:1-18; Jas. ‪2:10‬; etc.).
One sin caused Lucifer and one third of the angels to fall (Isa. ‪14:12-14‬). One sin caused angels to be sent to Hell (2 Pet. 2:4; Jude 6, 7).
    God revealed that one sin would cut men off from Him. This is His own law and He cannot be just and truthful if He does not enforce it (Gen. ‪2:17‬; Ezek. ‪3:18-21‬; 18:4, 13, 18, 20, 24, 26; 33:9, 12, 13, 18; John 8:34; Rom. ‪6:23‬; ‪8:12-13‬; Gal. 6:7, 8; Jas. ‪2:10‬; 1 John 3:8). Many times God promised to "cut off" any man that committed certain sins (Gen. ‪17:14‬; Ex. ‪9:15‬; ‪12:15‬, 19; 30:23, 38; 31:14; Lev. ‪7:20- 21‬, 25, 27; 17:4-14; ‪18:29‬; 19:8; 20:3-18; 22:3; ‪23:29‬; Num. ‪9:13‬; ‪15:30‬, 31; ‪19:13‬, 20; Ezek. 14:8; Mal. ‪2:12‬; Rom. ‪11:22‬, 24). The phrase "cut off" means destroyed in death and “cut off from my presence" (Lev. 22:3; Ps. 109:13-15; Zec. 13:8; Matt. 24:51; Luke 12:46; Rom. 11:22-24).
Sin committed is as much sin one time as it is another. It is as much sin to the saved as to the unsaved. It is the sin itself that is sin, and the time it is committed does not make it unrighteousness at one time and righteousness at another, or sin to one and not to another. Any transgression of the law is sin, whether before or after one is saved, and the penalty for the broken law must be enforced without exception, as well after salvation as before. To reason that sin is not sin when committed by saints, or if committed after salvation, is poor reasoning, and the very devil himself would blush at being accused of such utter lack of intelligence.
Whenever one sins he must, for the time being, cease to be holy. He must stand condemned and must incur the full penalty of the law that the one sin of Adam incurred, or God would be a respecter of persons and a party to selfishness and sin. If He broke the law which He and all free wills are obligated to keep, He would be a sinner. If man does not incur the penalty, then the law is abrogated and he has no rule of duty- consequently, he cannot be either holy or sinful. The penalty cannot be abrogated unless the law itself it abrogated, for precept without penalty is no law. It is only counsel or advice. If God's law is merely advice, then there are no sinners to be saved, there is no need of a Saviour, and the whole plan of the Bible is a sham.
A man is damned for breaking the law of God and for his own sins, and that 👉 the sin of rejecting Jesus is merely the last sin that seals the doom of man for his own sins and for original sin. 👈 Only past sins are forgiven (Rom.3:25; 2 Pt.1:8-9; Eze.18:24-26). If you fall into temptation, following the devil and your flesh, then repent again for justification with all sincereity (Eze.18:30-32; 1 Jn.1:9; Rev.2:5, 16, 21-22; 3:3, 19), not giving God lip service so you can get away with living after your fleshly desires... that will not work (Gal.6:7-8). Temptation will always be the lot of the child of God, but no sin need be committed and no self-condemnation need be indulged in just because of the presence of temptation (Heb. ‪2:18‬; ‪4:14-16‬; 1 Cor. ‪10:12-13‬; 1 Pet. 1:6-7; ‪4:12‬; 5:8-9; James 1:2-12; 4:7).

He's a tool for knowing Good from Evil which is a major recurring theme throughout OT, NT and Quran. At the time of the crucifixion Genesis 1 left the body so that it was the human Genesis 2 that was crucified.
