  • OzSTOL 2024 - My first ever aircraft competition!!
Flew the Skyreach Bushcat ultralight aircraft from Tasmania up to New South Wales to compete in the shortest take off and landing competition.
Around 9 hours flying each way spread over 2 days for just 3 take offs and landings.
Competition is based around your takeoff distance added to your landing distance (from a set of flags).
Not my best video yet with some different camera settings, locations and usual failed audio and batteries making it a challenge but I hope it is still worth 20 minutes of your time :) I will keep trying to do better - all advice/tips welcomed..
    Safe landings!!

Ground effect cheaters! (I'm kidding! Don't hurt me! 😆) I think it's awesome we have these here - so often you only see them in the US, especially among the Alaskan bush pilots. I take it your plane is NOT IFR rated?

Sadly RA aircraft in Australia are not permitted for night or IFR although some are equipped. Always loads of fun flying them :) the interest is growing here in oz.

@@thrusteroz I am in Aus ;) But didn't know that model is RA category. Yeah, there's a Topaz dealer nearby, who sells IFR equipped models. Not sure why.
