Absolutely lovely video, I’m a 67 year old Granny here in the UK who was also brought up on a farm, it was on the beautiful South Downs in West Sussex and we would go blackberrying during the latter half of the Summer holidays ( August / September ) we would get loads of them, Nan made apple and blackberry pies, crumbles and Dad would try his hand at Blackberry wine. They were idyllic days and seeing you with your beautiful children looking for them and picking them, has brought back many happy memories of my, childhood, thankyou, also your garden is looking fantastic 👍💕
That's my kind of recipe... simple!!! I love how polite and respectful your kids are. You don't hear many kids saying yes ma'am, no ma'am anymore. When Elora said, "I like cooking with mommy," melted my heart. 💜
I just love how the whole family loaded up in the truck with their baskets to pick berries together! You don't see this kind of stuff very often! I just love your family Steph! Stay blessed! Love you guys so much! 🤗❤️🥰🙏🏻
Your videos bring back so many memories for me. As a child, we would spend 1 week vacation every July with my grandmother in Kirkland Lake Ontario. This is wwaayy up north. It was always blueberry season. I hated Blueberries. I still do. But I would walk back into the deep woods with Nan so we could pick them for her jams and freezer. One time, a black bear appeared, which was common in this area. After that, I refused to go back into the woods. Steph, you and Buddy have such well-behaved and respectful children. Something that seems to be lost in a lot of families now. Will definitely try your cobbler recipe with my favorite raspberries.
Ur kids are soo smart and respectful. U can tell yall are raising ur kids right and spend so much time with them on and off camera. U both have great patience with them. I loved when my son was little he loved to cook with me. And before my parents passed away he would go spend time with them and cook for them. He had gotten pretty good at cooking by then too. ❤❤❤
You & Buddy are FANTASTIC parents. You set a good example of what a family should be like. Love how you spend time with each other helping each other, & you evolve your kids, teaching them. Love your videos.
How cool is that your family did all the work from the beginning to the end to pick the berries & than u made the finish product Great job guys👍👍👍🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼
So happy to see you teaching your kid s how to cook. My mom had me helping her at the same age. By the time I was 10 doing most of the baking for our family of 6. I could bake everything from scratch. Didnt use a mix till almost 30. Such valuable lessons
I love blackberries. My aunt used to take my cousin and I to pick dewberries near the railroad tracks in Boerne When she made the jelly we would call it railroad tracks jelly This brings back good memories. Thanks
This brings back great childhood memories for me. We use to camp at our state park, when I was young. My grandparents lived close to it and had lots of blackberries. We would go spend the day with them and pick blackberries. Take them back to the campground and my mom would cook them down with sugar and butter. Then she would make homemade biscuits in her Dutch oven. Hot biscuits with butter and the the blackberries on top were my favorite treat!! Plus, it's my favorite cobbler!!
Stephanie, I made your cobbler recipe tonight with some frozen-ish berries (since I didn't have enough dewberries!) And I forgot the vanilla, so I sprinkled on some ginger and all-spice and baked it 45 minutes at 350 F and it is wonderful! Thank you. This is a recipe I don't even have to write down. I do tend to use slightly less sugar in all sweet recipes so it is still quite sweet. The flavor is great!
Good morning Stephanie and Buddy and family ☕🌞can't believe how far ahead you are in weather and crops! We can't even plant in the ground yet 32 and snowed further up north! My mom made blackberry wine when I was young and it was brought out for Thanksgiving! What a fun time as a family, you should have packed a picnic to enjoy by the river💞 yummy, a cobbler! Thank you for sharing your family day🥰
Looks sooo good ! My mouth is watering ! I loved picking blackberries when I was a kid, brought them home to my Mama & she would make blackberry cobbler too. We had ours with a scoop of vanilla ice cream on top or a splash of milk if it was just hot out of the oven. Sweet memories ❤
I love blackberry cobbler , when I was a child we use to pick wild blackberries and we would make jam , freeze them and make cobbler , blackberry dumplings and blackberry muffins ! So yummy 😋God bless ❤️🙏🙋🏻
You’re sure making me miss my childhood neighborhood where we literally had almost every kind of fruit growing apples, pears, strawberries, cherries, grapes, plums, peaches, rhubarb, mulberries and blackberries I miss just being able to walk outside and grab fresh fruit.
I have wonderful memories of cooking with my Mom and Grandma from a young age. I learned from some of the best cooks and to this day, many years after their passing, I still love to cook the dishes as they taught me.
I would love to try growing blackberries, I love the flavor. I do grow raspberries, and have planted strawberry plants in some dollar store stacking containers. I am hoping they do well. I am trying to expand my selection of home grown fruits. It's wonderful that you can just go out and find good food growing wild on the family farm. 💖💖💖
I grew up in Illinois and we would pick tons of them but it was in June. My brother would sell them to the neighbors to make money for the fair, at 4th of July, so he could ride the roller coaster. I would mostly eat them🤣 Thanks for the memories! Love your channel!❤❤❤
I could almost taste the blackberries! The cobbler looked fantastic. Don't have any bushes near me but there is a supermarket a very short distance away. Think I'll be having myself a Denman Cobbler this weekend. Thanks for sharing!
Allora (sp?) saying, "I love cooking with mommy," was so sweet. I had "cooking shows" with my kids and now with my Littles, when I can. Good memories, and your cobbler looked delicious. Thanks for sharing with us.
Seriously thank you so much for this recipe and showing me how to make it,I literally have about 4-6kg of frozen blackberries from last year that I need to use up and this is perfect ❤️
Love blackberry pie, we used to get chiggers when we're picking them, not fun. I learned to take a bleach bath after picking to get rid of the chiggers.
My neighbor accidentally cut up my blackberry bush last year with his bushog. I saw another one in a different area last week so I'll check it. I grew up eating fresh blackberry, blueberry & peach cobbler along with fried apple or peach pies. I always ate my blackberry cobbler with a little cream, but did the vanilla ice cream once I grew up. Now you've made me hungry for my childhood favorite. 🥺 Oh I hope there's some berries. 🙏💜
Hi Denman Clan👋 Thx 💙 for sharing family blueberry foraging. It was wonderful. I made some subs cause we don't eat white flour or sugar or use whole milk or butter. But it was yummilicious! Thx for sharing guys. Loved it n you ❤! Have a blessed 🙌 day. ❤ n 🙏s always. Elly 🇨🇦

Hi Denman family. I can remember my dad visiting from MN. He picked the blackberries and then he talked me into making blackberry jam so he could get them back home to his wife. Never made blackberry jam before or since. I don’t do blackberries. I love 💕 that memory.
We called them briarberries. Used to eat them with salt on them. But now I have to buy them at the grocery store. Cobbler looks delicious. GOD BLESS Y'ALL.
Going to try this later in the year, our wild blackberries won't be ready until mid August. But our Blueberries are earlier so I think they will work. This recipe seems simple, easy to remember and looks delicious.
Wow! U guy's already have blackberries. We're like month away or longer. I used 2 get them by 5 gallon bucket full. Guess u know 2 watch 4 snakes 🐍 and such. I'll say this again u guys are some of a hand full I enjoy watching and feel good watching. I can smell them berries and taste them. Be safe. I used 2 mix in my berries with the mix and it was outstanding.
I remember going berry picking as a small child. The best part of the day was the big cobbler my mom would make for after dinner. Mmmmmmmm. Good times.
My sons when they were younger used to love going berry picking. We’d get either black or blue berries. The BEST blueberries we ever picked was in Acadia Nat’l Park, Maine❤❤

What a fun berry picking adventure. I’m surprised the animals haven’t eaten all the berries.
