If you go to the top of the native cloth sim there are 3 bars, click on that and there will be a drop down with the type of cloth option. :3 I'm working on a trench coat animation as well thank you for making this!
What would be the best option for simulating clothing made of multiple materials, armor with cloth and leather for example? Split it into separate objects per material?
Do sims need to have key frame tweens like no key frames between each pose so that the movement interpolates rn my animations are frame after frame pose to pose (for rendering pixel art character animation)
Your tutorial ended up being a testament to how bad, subpar and superficial Blender’s cloth system really is. It’s solver algorithm is old and dusty and especially when it comes to relatively complicated clothing, like in your tutorial, the results are never convincing and mired with interpenetration issues that refuse to go away. I doubt that we’ll never get to see this shit deprecated and replaced with something modern that really works. And I’m not even referring to MD in any way. Just something that produces convincing results…
@@mg-se5ws For very serious and demanding work I use Houdini. This also goes for multi layered clothing. If the cloth to be simulated is as simple as a blanket, flag, napkin or a small appendage of an object and the like, I might just get that done in Blender.

I've been dying for a good video on clothes
hopefully this helped you out
Exactly what I needed, thanks
Good video, definitely what I was asking about the video with the cloth sims.
Glad I could help!
first thing I'm going to do is give a like! (already subscribed)
brilliant
Thanks for the tutorial👍
No problem 👍
Thank you for the video. I how blender gets improvement on cloth Sim.
Good stuff! Where did you get the jacket from?

this is what i need. thank you

Very nice. Thank you sir :D
Most welcome mate, always a privilege when you are here.

You should have fiddled with the settings until it worked properly. 😊
Is simply cloth with it?
no, this is a addon that you can get
@@Markom3D sorry I meant *worth it!
it seemed to have the same problems as the native cloth sim...
so do you think it's worth?
@@MysteryFinerythere is a demo version, i think it gives you enough features to get this done
Will this help in blender o sculpt a Batman pose from a cover of comic book? Thanks i hope this will help complete finish a sculpt thanks again
Does any of this work with Unity or unreal engine?
I am trying to do this, but with clothes from a third party like Daz, but there's no video on how to make simulation with pre-created clothes
How did u unlock that panel??
Is it possible to only add cloth modifier to a portion of the jacket? (Instead of the entire jacket)
they would need to be separate objects then. That is the point of the vertex group
You can apply to certain vertex only
Hi markom3D, do you know how to do belt simulation in iclone 7?
no I dont unfortunately
Great
cheers
Looks like you set the cloth inner collision to higher than the exterior, 0.05 for the interior and 0.002 for the exterior. That might be a problem?
yeah, so this is where you need to play with the values. I just really wanted to bring it to the forefront
Arma 3 can’t do this, I’m so angry

What software would you use for clothing simulation ?
