I was a medic back in 2021 (my squad was one of the few last generation in Afghanistan ) I was a basic army infantry medic and gotta say everyone laughs at you until they’re bleeding hahaha

@@Thomashallender a Combat Corpsman is in the Navy or the Marines (mostly USN Corpsman getting attached to USMC platoons). A Combat Medic is the US Army. These are US Army soldiers so it's correct to say Combat Medic. (You can tell by the uniform)

I can’t imagine being a Combat Medic or Corpsman. Seeing your friends go down and knowing that you alone have the responsibility of keeping them alive in the heat of battle. These people are built differently.

@@aaronbligh3619 ya man I felt that. You just try to calm your guys down however possible, especially on versed/ketamine they will need some coaching. I was a platoon medic in Ghazni and my friend got shot with a DSHKA round and after getting treatment done and in between getting vitals all I could do was hold his hand and try to comfort him. Those are moments that will live you for a while.

@@astelli6181 Not necessarily. Infections and other complications often set in depending on the extent of damage and amount of particulates in the dust from animal dung. Was a big problem for our wounds when i was there.

@@ChickentNug start learning anatomy and of course get physically fit. I went through medic school almost 20 years ago. I've been out of the Army since 2013. I'm not sure what or how they are teaching things now
