@@donaldsmith6814 Thanks okay, now you know! Isn’t the whole idea of playing quizzes to improve your general knowledge? It is for me. If there’s something I don’t know, it’s such a simple matter to Google the answer these days. It can actually make you more curious to learn more about certain subjects.
Me either. I'm American. We don't have Prime Ministers (but everyone knows Churchill!) or cricketers. I was wrong on Jackie Robinson, too. Never have liked baseball.
Thanks for this...Nice music, but kept hoping for Nat King Cole & others to be one of the quiz photos. Also, Ingrid Bergman & Lauren Bacall, but no Bogart?? Guess you'll have to do a Part 2!
@@jetstream6389 He was also one of the composers. I was verbally inquiring when that tune came on..."Where's Nat (a photo)"?? Could have been one of Glenn as well. I did appreciate the appropriately swinging music used (compared to the schlocky offerings on many of these videos).
I missed 3. I mistook Duke Ellington for Cab Calloway. Have no idea who Don Bradman or John Curtin were. I looked them up: Curtin was a former Prime Minister of Australia. Bradman was an Australian cricketer. How the HELL were we supposed to know that?!? I'm giving myself credit for those two and apologize to the memory of Duke Ellington. I should have known better! So, ONE wrong!
I,m 87, I expected to ace it,, but failed on no 19, but so did most, I got the first 19, but like a lot of people missed Curten, for the viewers Who missed Don Bradman, Google him the Greatest Cricketer who ever lived, I saw him in 1948.
John Curtain was the Prime Minister of Australia during the Second World War. Sadly he passed away just before the end of the war. Sir Donald Bradman was Australia’s, arguably the world’s best cricketer. He retired with a batting average of 99.94, which means that every time he went in to bat he averaged nearly a hundred runs. That, I believe is the equivalent of batting 1,000 in baseball terms. But that was for every test cricket game he played! He is still considered by many as the greatest batsman who ever played the game.
@Paul Goodier John Curtin was an Australian who led the country through the Second World War. I’m impressed that you are at least curious to even ask who he was. Most quizzes are American centric and everyone is expected to know sporting legends and famous Americans. It’s nice to have the playing field levelled a tiny bit for a change. 😊
@Paul Goodier yes Paul, that’s why I enjoy playing quizzes. I’m 65 and I believe they are helping to stop my mind from atrophying or turning into mush. I also play a game called QuizUp. It’s an app on my phone and you play against people around the world. I have made a few friends in the US and Ireland through it. It’s a great way to while away some hours and hopefully learn something at the same time. You take care against this new strain of the virus and let’s pray that the worst will be over soon. I’m so lucky where I live. We’ve only ever had two cases down here on the southwest coast of Victoria and we seem to have it under control at the moment. Stay safe!
@@joycie014 Wow! Thanks for setting everyone straight, in a thoughtful & educational way! That is, those of us who notice there's some explanation provided ☺️
Not bad I was born 21 June 1944 and I could remember 15 of them .👍♥️♥️💯💃💃
As a non-Australian, I feel pretty good getting 18. Sorry, never heard of Curtin & Bradman.
john curtin was our war time prime minister and don bradman was our greatest ever cricketer.
Sorry but I didn't know these two either.

@@joycie014 Very true!

Only an Aussie would get Curtin and Bradman. Greatest cricketer ever.
Born in late 50's. I missed Curtin & Bradman.
Me Too plus a couple more - lol
All of them were easy except for the two Aussies. 😊
Thanks for this...Nice music, but kept hoping for Nat King Cole & others to be one of the quiz photos. Also, Ingrid Bergman & Lauren Bacall, but no Bogart?? Guess you'll have to do a Part 2!
14/20
Not bad for someone who was a baby in 1965
I missed 2.Did not know Bradman and Curtin.
I also missed Curtin and Bradman
I had three mistakes. Thank you!
I missed numbers 7 and 19. I like history so I'm off to read up on Misters Bradman and Colin.
18/20 again. I think I'd fare much better at these if I had any vague interest in sport.
14 out of 20-not too shabby for some one born in 1965
I got 16/20. I, myself, was born in 1976 but love the Greatest Generation..I misses out on Bradman, Curtain, Ella Fitzgerald, and Duke Ellington.
Born in 1966, but I had 18 out of 20 correct. Never heard of nr. 19. Don Bradman I have heard of, but didn't recognise him.
I was born in 1951 and I missed Curtain and Bradman.
Vivien Leigh and Hedy Lamar are practically twins
No
Missed three Curtin, Bradman, and Duke Ellington...Ellington looked familar but got it wrong anyway.
.
never heard of number 7 and number 19 but I got all the rest
I have never heard of John Curtin or Don Bradman, missed a couple of others.
The same with me I got them except the Aussies
18/20, missed the 2 Aussies.
The two Australians #7 and #19 I had no idea who they were. The rest was easy. I’m not Australian, would they really be as well known as the others?
Not so much Curtin. I bet some Aussies would have missed that one. But...Bradman...total legendary Aussie.
Nope
I missed 2 out of 20 , Bradman and Curtin
Missed the same 2.
I'd no clue of John Curtin or Don Bradman, which were British. I confused Frank for Jackie, and Count Basie for Duke Ellington. 16/20.
Don Bradman and John Curtin were Australian; cricketer and Prime Minister, respectively.
British?? Every Aussie cricket fan just fainted!!
@@suzyfarnham3165 This Brit, cricket-hater has also just picked herself up off the floor! Even I know Don Bradman.
As a Finn, I didn't know Bradman, Robinson and Curtin. Di Maggio was a lucky guess.
13/20.The easy one's I got wrong, typical me.😤😤😤🇬🇧🇬🇧
I did better than I thought. A couple I just never heard of and a couple looked familiar. I got 12 right!
36/40 Although two were out of time !
Well this was obviously a shorter quiz but I only missed 4 this time! Not bad considering I wasn't born till 20 years later.
16/20 gutted!
Join the club mate.
Got 9 correct. The 50's got 5 correct. 🤷🏻
17 out of 20 without really trying. The only ones I missed were 7, 14 & 19.
I was able to name 18 thank you i
I´m Brazilian and I missed 2 out of 20. Mr. Bradman and Mr. Curtin I don´t know them!
14 right out of 20
Who are Don Bradman and John Curtin?
12/20
I missed number 7 and 19!
I reconized the tune "Straigthen up and fly right" but I don't know who performed it..
@Paul Goodier The opening tune is In the Mood, but at about 4:00, it's Straighten up and Fly Right (I think)
@Paul Goodier it's OK to make mistakes, as long as you don't make the same mistake over and over. We--should--learn from our mistakes.

I recognized 18. Just missed the ones I never saw before.
For someone who wasn't born then I got 12, which I thought was good
Got all But 1

Missed 3
Got 17 right.....missed no. 7, 10 and 19.
Hey, maybe next time you should include Viv Richards, the famous cricketer from the island of Antigua. Nobody'd get that one.
14/20.
Bradman and Curtin I all so missed them, who are they?
If you look at some of the earlier comments above, you will find several explanations. They are famous Australians.

Missed two
Who's Don Bradman?
Australian cricketer
_What the heck is a "John Curtain" !??!_
I got 2 wrong, never heard of Bradman or Curtin.
Don Bradman was an Australian cricketer but I do not know who Mr Curtin was.
Don Bradman was our most famous cricket player John Curtin our prime Minister there is a Canberra suburb named after him

7. Don Bradman and 19. John Curtin : Are NOT Famous!
They are here in Australia! The same cannot be said for the American baseball players.
