On the toolbox on the left you have 3 buttons near the bottom: draw in front, behind or inside, it would've simplify the process of searching and dragging layers (like you did with the black rectangle on the sleeves). Thank you for making these tutorials, they are really inspiring.
you can buy a t-shirt pattern from the fabric/craft store, scan it into your computer, and digitize it on illustrator. :D if your scanner isn't big enough, you can draw lines all over it, scan sections, piece it together on photoshop, and then move it into illustrator. Then you have a blank t-shirt template. (know your seam allowances though. no factory works with the nasty 5/8" seam allowance that are standard on most home sewing patterns. pretty easy to shave off with illustrator.)
I have contacted 5 seperate manufacturers, all have advised they are unable to send out print files. I also contacted gummy apparel where you had mentioned in a previous comment. All have denied to release their print files. Any advice on why this would be the case or how I can obtain such file?
As jersey has many sizes like S,M,L,XL.... So While designing we need to make on all these sizes or only on one size rest printer person will manage it?
I design and create artwork for sublimated cheer uniforms for various nfl teams and this was a pretty great video! :D I would like to have seen the exporting process and marker development (I know the company i work with likes .dxf files) but overall good info!
Thanks Aaron. I usually send the .ai file to the manufacturer for printing. I have no idea what they do after that. Its the first time im hearing about a .dxf file
@@DesignPilot I was the so stumped when they first requested that as well. It's having to do with the scaling and the programs the company uses. When you export the .ai file as a .dxf (some autocad file) it asks for scaling information. Pretty interesting! Probably as a safety measure as well.
hey I have a question.. ; so you say (and it IS) the colors will be a little washed out when you change the mode to CMYK. So, having the "mockuped t shirt" imported into the document *before* the document is being changed to CMYK, don't the colors in the *Design that you take for the reference* will be changed?
Yo, love this video, can you give us some examples of print on demand that we can contact, i did some research i only found ones that force there mockups on you andd don't give you any print files.
Wouldn't it be easier to have a print file and be able to generate a Mockup out of it (with Smart Objects) so you don't have to eyeball everything you just created in the mockup to look the same when printed?
Great video, like all of your other ones! :D One think I would suggest is maybe slow down a little bit, as someone who is new to Illustrator, it's hard for me to understand sometimes.
Thanks. And Yes, I shall keep that in mind. But this Tutorial was actually for those who already have a good understanding of Illustrator as Jersey Designing is not a beginner level skill :)
This helped a lot! Thank you so much for creating this tutorial. I had one question - is there a way we can export the work from this print template to a mockup template? this is to show the client what they will have and even for me to see what I am making?
+ZENGen Learning Glad it helped you. Unfortunately you cannot transfer it to the mockup. You will have to design the mockup separately! Watch my latest Photoshop Tutorial to learn how to do that.
YES! I am watching that video right now! lol. but then how can I create the same thing in mockup and same thing in print files? I mean surely there are bound to be small differences. is that a normal thing in the print industry or is there a way to counter this?
+ZENGen Learning It's common for some differences to be there. But try your best to be as exact and precise as you can. Minor differences won't make a difference because when the jersey in worn, the minor differences won't be shown.
If I already have the primary print file, how can I duplicate it for multiple jerseys to change each one to each players name and send the cards to print department? like turn this into 10 print ready files of the same design with different payers names and numbers
I'm asking how? My designer sends me the print ready files once the design is done. then I send it to the manufacturer and they do all the individual changes for print. I want to be able to do that myself so all they have to do is print. This way if there are misspelled names, it's on me. Or better that I can make sure I'm not getting misspelled names
+Beto Benitez Thanks Beto. Yes, I know. But the Problem is that, I received the template file in that way where all the layers aren't organized. It best to not move them or delete them, as it would be easy for the Manufacturing Company to edit the file the way they want as they were the ones who provided it
But you can do it using Photoshop, so why you don't you ? please, I really need to understand because I usually use Photoshop to design over templates and It really give me a good results but I don't know about jersey and why I shouldn't use Photoshop ?
@@DesignPilot I did use Photoshop to make a print file for boxes, bags, cards ... etc And it was absolutely fine even after printing I was asking will there be a problem if I used it when designing a jersey ?

+Labby So if your the Designer, you will have to take the Print file from the manufacturer and edit it. Then share it to the manufacturer and then he would take care of the printing process. Are you talking from point of view of Manufacturer?
+Amydiamni Roslan Hey Man. You have to ask the Printing Company for the Template as every company uses different measurements and printers. Hope this helps :)

Yeah! That's crazy!
so after the design is ready for printing, are you sending them to another company or are you sublimating the stuff?
If only all indian youtubers speaks english this good.

It's not about English
It's about delivering the information

.ai or PDF. Which ever the Manufacturer wants.

how much the mockup cost or can we get it by some different method if yk what I mean

You need to ask your manufacturer
Very good video.
Where can I download the template to make the shirts?....
Thanks for the compliment. So you need to ask your manufacturer for the template as each manufacturer has a different printer and printing process.
Devil Cube Thanks for the apoorte.
But some similar idea that you can give?
Not sure

anything like this on phone?
No
Is it pattern how to make by size and neck design pattern
