About Chapterhouse: Dune. I believe Herbert would go and try to write a Dune 7 that would wrap it up his ideas about power and humans at the stage they were in the last few novels, - because why not? - but I also think he probably wouldn't be too bummed up to learn he wouldn't get to write it as "Arrakis teaches the attitude of the knife: chopping off what's incomplete and saying 'it is complete, because it ended here'".
Hey! I've really enjoyed your channel for a few years, and I'm glad to see you streaming! Just as a heads up, the Blue Yeti is "side address," which means instead of talking into the end of it, it sounds better when you talk into the front of it (the side with the logo). Some folks don't know this about those mics, but hopefully this helps! Thanks for all the great comics content. Looking forward to the next one! 🙂
It's cool finding people who love the comic lore and stories in general. I read a lot growing up, and the art and stories of comics drew me in. Sadly, I didn't have many friends I could share that with. It has been a blast finding a lot of people on RUclips that are into comics, too. There are a lot but few that are actually into them for the stories. When I saw your vids a while back. I instantly recognized you from old vids I caught on RUclips about comics. Then I just thought you were only a commentator. It was cool finding out you actually like comics personally, too. Keep up the great work. Your last video with Amanda taught me she was like you, too. I remember seeing her in some of the same kind of vids. I don't remember the name of the channel/channels, though. I started catching her channel vids, too. Hmmm Went kind of long there, lol. Probably won't get to even notice the comment. Still, if you do. I am happy to let you know that I appreciate your content. Can't remember if I've stated this before or not.
All the damian questions on this livestream made me remember the bizarre deathstroke paternity arc. Would love to see that covered and summarized bc i tried so hard to wrap my mind around it while it was coming out and could not manage it from premise alone
I HATE that WW barely has a Rogues Gallery and DC then: doesn´t use one of her most popular ones in Giganta (that I want to read significantly in comics and have her shown in movies), that ones that are created and great aren´t brought back (First Born) and that when there´s a glimpse of hope that they´d bring back her original villains they never do (a brief mention, a panel, if you are lucky maybe single story arc and that´s it). Meanwhile, everything revolves around Cheetah...and less so Ares. PS Some of my favorite comics are: Justice, Brian Azarello´s WW (and the entire New 52 to be honest), New 52 Aquaman till the end of Rebirth, Blackest Night, Morrison´s JLA, New 52 Justice League, Red Lanterns, Rebirth Trinity, Rebirth JLA...
I think the New 52 WW was smart to give her the Greek pantheon to clash with. There's so much in the well to pull new ideas for Diana to fight with/alongside.
Based on your humor I just ran with “casually comics” being a fun inside joke explained in an intro vid somewhere. Like “We go DEEP, we LIVE in the deep. But come join us and have fun, cause we’re casual like that.” 😂
My favorite era of Jean in the comics is the time between the end of the Dark Phoenix Saga and right before the X Factor series launched. Wish they'd go back to writing her like she was then.
I'm generally okay with Morrison's X-Men run for its overall novelty and inventiveness, although I think they took some major liberties with some established characters. I agree that Morrison is one of those writers who are overrated by fans, though. The whole metanarrative "I know I'm a character in a comic book and I'm looking through the page at you, the reader" thing just isn't as clever as they think it is, IMO. (Al Ewing's current use of metanarrative works for me because he doesn't take it as seriously as Morrison or is as twee about it as Gaiman.)
I love the LSH, but the Bendis stuff was bad. We need to go back to the original incarnation that has the history, not reinvent the concept. They should be adults now.
@@matthewlloyd5130 Somewhat 5 Year Later started in the late 80s so it was a precursor to Vertigo . I think LSH would really benefit from an R-rating, so to speak.
Avengers: Disassembled has a place in my heart for my most recent drift back into comics. BMB's Disassembled thru Siege including House of M, Civil War, New Avengers: Breakout, Secret Invasion (the good one) with the New (and Mighty) Avengers then bits and pieces since. I liked Ed Brubaker's Cap omni as I'm a massive Steve Rogers fan. I need to get back in, I enjoy your channel 'cause I can vicariously enjoy it. I'm neurodivergent, and subsequent depression, so sometimes it's a motivation thing others a focus thing but it has been a special interest many times over my life since I was too young to read the words. I LOVED to draw as a kid and it really made my heart soar seeing how exciting an accomplished artist could make a line drawing. My gran used to buy me JLAs and X-Men in the 80s (as a completionist I hated it was last time/next time format and I'd often not get 2 in a row), a brief teenage renaissance with X-Men #1 in the mid 90s, the Avengers: Disassembled was early/mid oughts. Holy hell, I'm old lolz. 2 months behind but my other interest is off for a week so I'm trying to catch up with my RUclips. I'm excited to see what you thought of X-Men '97. I went in with low expectations and I LOVED it! Special mention for The Marvels comic too, where journalist , a human watched throughout his life the emergence of the meta human from Jim Hammond fighting Namor all the way to the modern era. Very cool. The MCU homages to panels from it are very cool. Oh, and any art by Alex Ross.
I missed this! I'm so mad cuz I had to work overtime on day number six this week. I have no life anymore and now I'm having a really hard time emotionally.
I love the first Nic Cage Ghost Rider movie, watched it several times as a young teen. I know the second takes more beats from the comics, I think it just looks awful.

Honestly best use of the Eraser would be a rogue using him to screw with the Riddler and Cluemaster.
"WHAT IS BEST IN LIFE?"
My Answer: "crush enemies, see them driven before you, and hoarde more comics than I'm capable of reading"

I've always thought DC should make a Legion of Super-Heroes series made in the style of a late 90s Vertigo series.
@@williamdyer5086 Wasn’t that what 5 Years Later was like? It kept the history but had a wholly different feeling.

@@matthewlloyd5130 The sad part is I don't think either of us will get what we want. The people at DC don't have a clue what the're doing anymore.

Watching months later and that '97 part of will get to it when I get to it is funny

21 seconds shy of two hours.😊

Adaptations better than source: Wanted. Decent movie, rather awful comic. :)
