Not sure if Europe has anything to offer the Russians. As with the U.S, Europe is de-industrializing, especially now that their energy is much more costly since they cut off Russian energy. The west is finally losing its financial grip over their past colonies. France being kicked out of the Sahell is one example.

Russia does not need military assistance from others to fight a widened war against NATO, bolstered even by Americans directly. They have already prepared for the eventuality. While their attitude is not one of "bring it on," they do understand that the Western view is that Russia is incapable of winning against them. An attitude similar to that of the Germans in June 1941. The difference is that today, Russia is much better prepared.

      Russia got stronger ??
Ha,ha,ha. Putin is BROKE !! . Russia IS BROKE !! Russia has lost its main source of income which is the sales of has and oil. Western Europe that was Russias main customer are buying oil from Norway . The 2nd main income for Russia which is its international arms sales are GONE for good after seeing how poor Russian tanks performed in Ukraine. And that is BILLIONS of dollars worth of sales every year are GONE . Now everyone is buying arms from France . And the 3rd source of income is the Aeroflot commercial airlines has lost 80% of its income as most of its planes are grounded due to lack of spare parts because of embargo . Import/ export of Russian goods are down 80% because of embargo . And the war in Ukraine is costing Putin hundreds of millions OF DOLLARS PER DAY ! And that is the cost of food and ammunition for Russian soldiers . Plus they get paid salary and that is another huge expense for Putin .
All of the above DONE by Ukraine pal. Ukraine has already won !! All that damage done to Russia!! And Russian rubel is WORTHLESS now. It went down to almost 100 rubles to one dollar . Before the war it was 1 to 3 ratio. War is not only about territory eon but it is about all of the above that I have mentioned. You need to expand your horizons pal !!!
Putin must be very sorry that he has invaded Ukraine . Before the conflict Russia was somebody . Now Russia is nobody . Small country like Ukraine is kicking Russian butt for almost 3 years. Putin has lost his face and respect. It will take DECADES to RECOVER for Russia from this conflict. Putin has destroyed Russia .

Thankyou DW for this excellent guest and conversation, helping us as you do to understand the present dynamic geopolitical circumstances.
The U.S. administration must know at some level that it's struggle to remain being the global economic and military hegemon, has failed; consequently it is now doing it's best to spoil the inevitable alternative, an emerging Eurasian centric multipolar world order. World orders exist primarily to maintain stability and avoid chaos within and between nation states. However, as we saw during the Jan 6th 2021 attack on it's Capitol Hill, U.S. governance has become demonstrably unstable and chaotic. Moreover, this riot took place within the world's wealthiest and most influential nation state, demonstrating that it was thereby symptomatic of a failing U.S. led Western centric unipolar world order; a world order that is now coming to an end after many centuries of being the dominant world order. The Liberal values upon which such a world order was built, stabilised and legitimised, are becoming less relevant during a rapidly advancing 21st Century because the more advanced Liberal democratic forms of governance such as the U.S. and many of it's Western allies are failing to adapt such values to our rapidly changing geopolitical circumstances.

This article explains where in Ukraine the support for the Nationalists does and does not come from. Pro-Russian support comes from poorer and older Ukrainians. The bourgoisie is behind Zalensky. Zalensky is unpopular with many Ukrainians because he eliminated fuel subsidies that were possible with the import of cheap Russian energy - important for older people in a cold country.

They are now in a position to demonstrate their approach to working with others. WWII and the manner in which the Soviet Union allowed itself to dissolve permitted Americans to believe that as a nation they were all powerful and that other nations should recognize this illusion as fact. The past 35 years have taught other countries to deal differently with Western nations.

    Great program!
Of course the average Ukrainian wants an end to the war as soon as possible. By that I mean the average Ukrainian in western Ukraine. What do they care about the Donbass anyway? I think the only reason that Kyiv was willing to fight the Donbass Militias and then the Russian Army is the resources available in that part of the country. Losing that would have a profound negative effect on whatever is left of Ukraine.
The only Ukrainians actually fighting for their homeland are the ones in the Donbass Militias, now a part of the Russian Army.
The jokers on social media are fond of repeating the old motto - better to fight Russia in Ukraine than in Berlin or Paris. The real lunatics include Washington in that deal. Totally deluded, near medical intervention level.
I simply can't fathom why the US wants a war with China. How can a country go to war with another country that essentially supplies everything from plastic KFS to medical PPE? Walmarts would be empty of stuff. Amazon likely won't be able to get anything made in China, etc. And Taiwan? Why the heck would the US care about Taiwan? Computer chips? Well wouldn't it be a lot better to build computer chip factories in the US than going to war with a country like China? It must have something to do with economic reasons. The trend towards not using the US dollar in every transaction for stuff like oil must be a huge hit to the US economy. Which is mostly just printing more money to meet needs now. The US debt and/or deficit must be a massive problem right now.
I think the west still thinks it's in the 1980's. That they have a huge Army in NATO to deter, fight, and even beat the despicable Red Commie Bastards. I was a Leopard tanker in the Canadian Army at that time and was in Lahr, Germany. So I know the feeling, kind of. I was sure we would be able to defend Europe against the Soviets horde. Well, in public anyhoo. NATO Armies are nowhere near that strength now. Good grief - the UK will only have around 140 Challenger 3 in the future. That is almost as few tanks as Canada has, which I think is around 100 Leopard 2. Germany certainly doesn't have the Army they had, as well as most if not all of the other members of NATO. Except maybe Turkey. Not sure about them but Col Doug Macgregor says they have a large powerful Army.
And of course the US is willing to go to war in Europe. Or seem nonplussed about nuclear bombs dropping on Europe, especially in a place like Ukraine. Politicians like Lindsey Graham are a dangerous lot. Most of them are totally corrupt and thus will do whatever their donors tell them to do. It's a bribery and blackmail scheme all folded into one package. I pay you now; blackmail you after unless you do as told. I'm sure it's similar in Canada as well. Our dear potato sounds like he is ready to go directly to war against Russia recently. "A war Russia cannot win" or something like that.
Our arms race against Russia had slowed down since the Soviet Union fell but now it will be back in business. And that business is a profitable one. Look at all the wars that the US (I choose the US because they have the most industry) have been in since the fall of the Soviet Union in 1991 or 92. That, in retrospect, seems like a bridge between cold war and arm races to me...
I think President Putin is doing what he has always done and that's whatever is best for both Russia and Russian peoples. I don't think he has any intent in the rest of Europe. Like you say - what would be in it for them? I think people forget that the only reason the Soviet Union was in the rest of Europe was because they were in the act of pushing the German Army back to Berlin. Once the war was over they were genuinely afraid that their former allies would invade them. So they stayed in Berlin and German and what would become the Warsaw Pact to defend against that. Even though I thought at the time that they were a danger to Europe when I was in Germany. I never had the wisdom then to think about why would Russia try to take the rest of Europe now? I shouldn't say wisdom - experience is a better word.
The rest of the world leadership could learn something from both Russia and China leadership.
Dolts like Biden, Macron, Sholz, the EU parliment, Trudea, etc are weak moldable folks that can be taken advantage of by the world elite. WEF et al.
I think the people of Taiwan will learn a lot from what is going on in Ukraine. And if they know what's best for them so will the Georgians.
Business will always find a way to proper.
It seems to me that a peace summit without both sides is just a war conference.
I think pro Russian Ukrainians are in fact Russians.
    Cheers.
