Hi Kait! I’m not counting calories this time. I sent you a comment a few weeks ago about how your videos have helped me considerably. I’m 69 yr old male and I am following your plan very closely. The goal is to bring my insulin resistance down to within spec. I only eat twice a day and cut out the carbs. I lost 35 lbs which was really a bi product of working on my insulin resistance. I’m 5’10” and weigh 160lbs now and I feel great. I’ll get more labs early in October so I’ll let you know how that turns out! I’m excited!
Thanks Kait! You are helping me so much.
P.S. I work out as well , 30 minutes cardio almost everyday, planning to get bicycle when it cools off!

My doctors have told me for years to eat less and move more had me on 1200 per day since age 17, with little or no weightloss. In my 30's still very much overweight again, same advice from a new doctor except she slashed my calories to 500 per day 😮. Now in my mid fifties and fatter than ever, I was diagnosed with insulin resistance. I'm trying all I can to absorb as much info as possible and implement lifestyle changes. It's a long road ahead, but I need to stick to it.

Undereating doesn't work. Every time you hit a plateau you need to eat less again. Then fast longer and longer. I like the idea of cycling feasting and famine, cut and gain. But slowly so you don't gain weight. But cutting quickly so your body goes into a deficit. But you aren't starving. 1800- 2000 calories seems right. 1200 to 1500 is ridiculous. If I don't track I undereat and then I don't sleep. Plateau and basically get stuck gaining. I'm doing all the things you suggested but am still gaining because I was doing OMAD and it really messed up my metabolism. Now I feel like I can't lose again.

I lost 5 stone over 2 years by one meal a day of between 2 and 2.5 thousand calories which includes chocolate, butter or olive oil.
I eat at lunch time and nothing else until the next day.
This means my morning workout of 20-45 mins is in a fasted state which makes it dramatically more effective.
It's much as we evolved to eat, no snackable food just one large meal after the exertion of hunting.
Obviously no sugared drinks are allowed outside the meal but I avoid them anyway because they are terrible for you.
Give it a go you will see results even if you do not restrict what you eat, just when.
    Good luck.

Thanks for another helpful video Kait❤.No, calorie counting was definitely not sustainable for me. But Im curious if u have any videos/ thoughts on how to go about losing/ maintaining weight whilst also trying to have a baby? I used fasting ( skipped dinner) + low carb to lose weight(12 kilos in total over 6 months) and got to my ideal weight in June 2022, currently i dont fast anymore and dont think it wise to do so in case i get pregnant but i am starting to gain weight slowly (+/-) 2 kilos and im not sure what to do about it. Sticking to low carb for life is very difficult when u live with others who are not low carb so i guess my question is twofold:
1.How do u best maintain weight whilst pregnant/ trying to get pregnant?
2.How do u realistically stick to low carb for life?

I’ve been doing all the things you mentioned to try and nothing worked for me. I quit the ACV after a year without any success. 😢

Hey! Hi! First, we need to stop usin the word "weight," and say "lose fat." We're not looking to lose muscle, right? The eat less/exercise more doesn't work because eating less junk is still eating junk. What works is changing your diet to healthier food and getting off the addictive junk food. Yes, it's that simple. Take it easy.

I just did my very first 72 hr fast. And I’m eating during a 8 hr window daily. Carnivore, zero oxalate, low carb. I lost 4 pounds the first week. I eat scrambled eggs with sausage, bacon or hame with cheese. Second meal is a large portion of salmon, steak or chicken with a small portion of vegetable. Snack is more cheese. So far, so good. I’m doing this for Crohn’s disease, but I also need to lose weight (BMI 30) and build insulin resistance.
I was a constant snacker because I thought keeping food in my GI would help me. I ate a ton of high oxalate foods because many of them are super foods. This made me very sick. Pottenger’s Human RUclips channel set me on the right path. Check him out if you’re a nerd that appreciates a deep dive into physiology and biochemistry.

Breakfast high in protein and fat, but how about lower protein, higher fat and carb breakfast like a raw yogurt with some frozen berries?

Just subbed a few weeks ago.. your videos are very informative. I have a question tho, if your body is used to keto with little to low carbs for sometime, what will happen if you go on a high carb diet? Will the body still process the carbs without issue? Or cause insulin resistance?

When your insulin sensitivity is improved you will be able to tolerate and metabolise carbs better 🙂 However, if you go back to eating the diet that got you insulin resistant in the first place then it will creep back.

Low carb, whole foods. I target 30g~ of carbs around anaerobic workouts (resistance training) and competition 🙂
