Can we just take a moment and appreciate how the Watchers are actually fighting like a pack of wolves? They wait for the right moment while most of them are circling around Gael just so that several of them come jumping in the moment he gets staggered.
3:58 is literally the most incredible thing i've seen in a boss cross over. All the Watchers ambush him, hitting him until Gael literally just goes all out, exploding anime style on these watchers and begins to bring it down on them. Such a baddass moment holy shit.
I actually found that sort of a cheap coincidence. I was rooting for Abbys and figured they would put up a good fight, but were doomed from the start - I was unpleasantly surprised to see that for 90% of the fight a majority of the watchers weren't doing jack, then all of a sudden by dumb luck their AI said "Pile on!" for the AOE attack...I found it a bit unsatisfying. Without that, they might've actually won.
I like how the abyss watchers fight, the game states that they stalk their prey like wolves. It kinda mirrors the wolves you see in ariendel. They circle around you while one or two take turns to attack you.

I’ve noticed especially in ds3 that most dark souls bosses will start spazzing and spamming their most op moves I have nothing to support this except that I think it makes sense the fight gets faster and faster making you more and more anxious so your bound to make a wrong move and of course it’s in one of their AOEs

The Legion could never go hollow either, because they would never lose their purpose. I think thats why Pontiff let them go free. They, more then anyone, would see the bliss of the end of Fire.

No, it is actually appropriate. Remember in dark souls three you aren't a human or a hollow, but ashes. They don't have dark signs and thus can't return to the curse of the dark sign. Gael has consumed so much humanity he has gotten back his dark soul, hence why he can bleed. The hollow he becomes is more, not less than the ash he was; until he is consumed by the abyss.
I think Gael is simply hollow as fuck but his original purpose in life was to gather up the dark soul for his ladys painting. And when he saw the blood he was reminded of his one true mission giving him the strenght and will so that the last flickering bit of humanity in his soul flared up for one last time before he dies
This would’ve been the greatest video ever if one of the abyss watchers stood up, painfully absorbing the flame of all his fallen comrades and starting a third phase to end it all channeling the soul of cinder, one final battle between fire and dark, but perhaps I’m just one for the dramatic

I’m happy to see that you followed the fans’ advice and shortened the intro. I found that the intro was a cool way to get hyped for the fight, but it was too long.
The intense intro is good but when you stretch it to nearly 50% of the video, it's no longer enjoyable. Even 30% is too much. It's an intro. It should be short.
Those abyss watchers standing there staring at gael is probably the most intimidating thing I've seen in any darksouls related media. It legit made my hair stand.

Right after the huge soul explosion, the music kicks it up to fucking 11 and Phase 3 of the fight begins. The Abyss Watchers stand no chance.

That's where Gael is absolutely done playing around and goes into Phase 3
he is just like: ok i have enough now and complety goes bersek on him
Also abyss watchers get aggressive when they are low on health,so that was kind of a last attack.

I like how the abyss watchers look like they have a strategy and planned for this. It’s amazing how the watchers interact around each other.
I love how much sense this would make lore wise... Gael is the zenith of what they would be fighting, the devourer of the dark soul and destroyer of all remnants of the gods. And the outcome also makes sense from our point of view in the world
I wonder though how many members of the legion would be necessary to take Gael down. I assume that if every abyss watcher of the legion at its prime joined in that fight they would end up winning at the cost of a good chunk of them, but it would be so cool to watch
@@markopusic8258 Nah man, Gael would just slaughter them all. By the point we fight him, he's most likely taken down legions of undead already on his own, literally until only a ringed knight and shira remain.
Plus the Watchers only share fragments of artorias' soul between them, and artorias got stomped by Manus' who was stronger than Gwyn with only a piece of the Dark Soul. Gael has the whole thing
