There was no temperature feature on the add-on at least on the build I'm using which is v1.2.25 so you can still walk on frozen biomes without wearing any warm or leather armor
The Creator said that it will later be available on the marketplace for console players but it doesn't have a release date yet but the creator said that it can release this January

No not really, the add-on does not require any experimental features
