I was wearing a red shirtwaist dress a while ago when I was still working. One of my friends commented that I was so brave. Yes, walking into a classroom of 10 year olds takes some bravado, but I still asked what she meant. She commented that I often wear bright colors like red, yellow and orange. I was confused by this until I looked around the lunch table and noticed every teacher was wearing black or navy. No real color. The colors always boosted my mood!
I know the feeling. Whenever I need a boost, I wear bright colours, and I always notice that so many people are in drab colours. I couldn't survive without bright colours in my wardrobe!😊
I am 66 and constantly get complements from people of all ages but young people comments ease me the most.I know what flatters me and love to look elegant and interesting. So much fun.I make myself happy everyday.
Hair - I have longish straight hair and I've recently discovered that a side pony tail or a side plait are more flattering because the hair is near my face when seen from the front. I used to have an ordinary pony tail/plait but they're only visible from behind and my face looked really stark and severe - hair near the face is more feminine and flattering.
I really enjoyed todays video Nada, most informative!! I am really looking forward to tomorrow as well, my “uniform” since retiring from my nursing career has become lounge wear (boo) and if I go out for lunch or a friend visit I end up in jeans and a fun or pretty sweater. I guess I need to mix it up a bit and that’s where I find the videos most helpful!! Have a great day!! ♥️ Tina ♥️
So many thoughts on this video! Wow I love the “look interesting” concept. And the discussion on jewelry really spoke to me. And pairing dressy with casual. I’m in my 50’s.. loved yesterday’s video as well. Nada you are knocking it out of the park on decades week! ❤LeeAnn
One thing that's so important as we age is to look after our teeth, easier said than done if you can't afford to go to a dentist. But try at least not to let them get discoloured, especially if you're wearing a red or dark lipstick. Also nails, keep your hands and feet looking clean and natural with well-manicured nails, either in their natural state or buffed or with a neutral-colour or red nail varnish. Yellow toenails are NOT a sign of ageing, you can file/buff them to get back to their original colour and thickness, it just takes a bit of regular effort. Your eyebrows will tend to become thinner as you age so be careful not to overpluck.
So glad you fell into my feed; love, love, love your tips! Shopping my closet and putting together new outfits. Also pulled out "fancy" former work pieces from the donation pile to mix with my jeans and simple tops. What a great transition from my "old" life to my "new" way of feeling good and looking fine. You've got a new subbie in me. 🥰
Love that you include minimalists in this decade. The video on statement dressing in one's 80's left me scratching my head, because your advice is so balanced to include all approaches, including the less flamboyant. Then again, I am probably missing the point. (LOL)
Welcome to the club! I'm 61, and utterly refuse to give up on style and self care. I admit it becomes very challenging the older we get, but it's worth making the effort.
I Love you and your sharing. I wanted to let you know that Walmart is a good place to find 100% cotton. The scoop and free assembly lines have some good choices. (I would not trust those other vendors that sell through Walmart’s website.) Thanks for all the help you are giving us.
I love Vintage fine jewelry, and find it adds so much interest to an outfit! I can’t wear most plated jewelry because the nickel turns my skin green - nothing takes away from a look more….
I love vintage charms and chains, but they're expensive! I treat myself occasionally, buy myself a gold charm as a birthday present, they're so unique and beautiful, irreplaceable and unlike all the modern pieces

If you go for a short cut, remember it is high maintenance as it will need regular trimming. I like being independent because I don't trust hairdressers. I have long straight hair and I cut it myself, also dye it with Clairol Nice & Easy.
I’m in my 50s but quickly approaching 60. I’m letting my hair grey and wear a pixie cut. It’s funny how many people seem shocked by my short hair but I won’t go long again. I love wearing fun earrings and just got another piercing. I also love funky shoes. My wardrobe is mostly neutral and solids though.
Do you have a video on how to shop vintage/thrift while keeping it cool/modern, not outdated?

I have lots active wear, retired in '09. wear yoga pants msotly and tops. Denim and Addidas jackets, rarely dress up. Husband likewise. I ditched the skirts, no dresses, have one pr dress shoes to wear with pants if I have to attend an event.

I would love to know if anyone watching this has worn easy to use hair extensions now that we are in our age group? I have, I guess one would say, normal thick hair, I wear a little longer bob, but I thought it might be fun to have longer hair for dinner out with my sisters one night. I haven’t ordered any yet but was just wondering if others think I am crazy..lol

I am 60s. I like wearing your clothes even when you are at home. Not saving clothes for special occasions, wear them everywhere.
It's a moral booster when you dress in your best clothes.

@LjijanaMercier... good for you!
Age 65, I was working out today in an orange workout top. Three people commented on how fun and bright I looked. Color changes perspective.
“Nobody knows your age or your weight”. What a great point!!
Your sample outfit visuals are SO inspiring ❤
Proudly in my 70s 😅

I turn 60 in a couple of months.

For me, there is a difference between looking interesting and looking like a clown…….sometimes a fine line in choosing what to wear at any age.

I turned 60 two weeks ago, new era with a red handbag I think. Thank you so much for this video.

Excellent video, really enjoyed the addition of examples to illustrate your points!

I’m 60 and I really like mixing men’s jeans with feminine clothes, and this combination is honestly common in my area >
Comport, baggy and casual.
wow, thank you !
Super cute thumbnail!
I want to look 70 forever😅💐
Can’t wait for the 70’s! Thanks for these tips and ideas! ❤
Amazing, my age group. Cheers from Canada

Seems like everyone where I live in CA is soooo casual. it really limits what I would choose.
Love these videos. I learn a lot of great things..❤
I've just turned 60
Love this
💖
60’s here. Best tip: mixing vs. matching. Instead of “cute” how about vibrant?
I like your idea. I haven’t felt cute for 60 years. I do feel attractive or vibrant though!

I've done it, it's fun to play around with different styles. I have no intention of growing old gracefully 😂
Approaching this decade and don't want to dress "age appropriate"
