They gave council flats to taliban commanders during The Blair dictatorship and certain councils have been infiltrated by gangs
Who allocate flats to their own trafficked folks from many countries and charge them way above normal subsidised rents as they are trapped as illegal immigrants. Such cases take decades to prosecute . MPs are too busy flipping their second homes and filling expense forms to even notice.

I live in Glasgow and most of the beggers I see are Romanian. I know for a fact that they live in council houses and get EVERYTHING bought for them eg dishwashers and the houses are entirely furnished, decorated etc. I know someone who lives beside them and they resent it because they are not given any help. This is soneone who served in the British Army.
I do not give them a penny of my hard earned cash. I always give money or buy sandwiches and drink, to GENUINE homeless.

There was a kid in Swansea that once did this. It soon got out, with pictures on Facebook to make everyone aware that his parents would drop him off in their Bentley and he had an iPhone and other pictures and videos of people confronting him when he was all suited up drinking champagne in an expensive restaurant. Anyway he soon learnt his lesson and never did it again. When he was kicked in, Mugged. His money given to the poor and his iPhone stolen.

It must be said that these professional beggars are mostly foreign and are part of organised crime gangs, they have accomodation and are picked up at night, and dropped off again the following day, - these gangs are taking desperately needed funds from those who are genuinely homeless and do not receive any benefits whatsoever, worsening an already very bad situation. Let's not tar all homeless with the same brush, not all are alcoholics or drug users, not all belong to gangs, and most of our own homeless will be lucky if they see £2 a day. Remember, that when you give, you are helping to keep someone alive.

The UK's roughly the size of the Australian state of Victoria. This poor little rock in the sea expected to accept every human who pushes their way in. They don't come to love and contribute and learn and assimilate; they've heard that every system is ripe to pillage, every loophole open to them to manipulate. They're here to take as much and whatever they can in order to get a good deal for themselves in life, it's not remotely difficult to comprehend. I get it. The problem is cultural and personal values. I need to see some affection, some love, some sense of personal duty and a real enthusiasm to learn about customs, traditions and culture...to feel pride in contributing and loving the UK. This entire culture is broken. All unstable and disordered so in a way, to be even-handed, no wonder these incomers barging their entitled Selves through probably shrug and wonder 'what EXACTLY is there to be subsumed into culturally?!' You need a strong culture and infrastructure that makes it clear what we're all about and that we do not bend to imposition of will, to slippery demanding adults trying to 'work' the system or arrogantly demand changes made to accommodate their demands and whims. We do of course. Which is entirely the problem.

Some people might beg temporarily to avoid eviction. But those who are known to beg long term whilst having a room to rent and receiving benefits should be arrested for fraud and jailed. Their behavior is not victimless. They cause the public to distrust the genuine homeless and withdraw support for them and in winter this lack of support can lead to people freezing to death in winter.

@@varidian694 yeah when I read your comment was shocked when I saw Stroud lmao. The guy outside tesco literally lives in same block as my mum so I know for a fact he's not homeless. Addiction issues etc

I never give them any money. This is a super wealthy country, there is plenty of employment if you really need money.

Hello. I've lived in South Africa all my life. I've watched beggars in designer boots begging on street corners. Must be said, by now, most South Africans pass by the average beggar. Sure, some are needy and deserve help. They are far outnumbered by those who randomly beg, preferably with a wanton waif child. It's heartbreaking to drive by, but one has to do it. Rather find one person worth supporting because they are looking for a better future, than perpetuate the 'gimme' agenda of poverty. Oh. I've also been accosted on trains by women who are clearly blind, walking with a stick, followed by her 'pimp'. Yes, life is tough for that lady. She doesn't get the money. Her pimp does.
