@@L.-wx1fcit's like riding a bike. Once you have the basics all you need is an abundance of common sense, a great sense of adventure and either the ability to rent or buy the hang glider. I guess since I was born and raised within a seashells throw of the tallest dune on the east coast of the US and where gliders are almost a daily event, I just assumed everyone would love to soar with the gulls in the County where aviation began. I do know that I'm rather tribal about our island that use to be a paradise until Virginians and northerners destroyed our beaches and chased out many natives just like they have up and down our entire eastern seaboard. They've destroyed cultures, fishing villages and small town lives where about 20 last names tied most of us together for centuries. We didn't need a hospital, multiple schools, yachts or ugly ass McMansions. Ignorance lets them build on the ocean side waiting for a great hurricane or noreaster to wash their huge view blockers into the Atlantic. Maybe that's why quite a few of us sit back and laugh every season as one or two are removed by mother nature and her karma. They can only replace the septic tank 3 times. The owners are never there for the storms or to assist in the cleanup. A beautiful sight while flying used to be our barrier islands . The wildlife was amazing!! The problem now is they are killing our wild mustangs and pushing them into spaces where it can't support the herd. Now strangers and greed will dictate the size of the herd. God said man will destroy himself and some of the greedy self entitled tourists who forget to leave and go back north are a direct cause. Oh well, it's still amazing to see the landmarks from above with only the wind and the birds and your own thoughts 😊❤😊

The masses are very greedy and self centered and hate it when someone (usually not apart of the sheeple zombie robot masses) points out their flaws. Wow...just saw you on the "Lookout Mountain..." documentary...wow, you are an USHGA officer !! Had written to them in 1985 about how I could get a Hang-1 after I got my P-1 from the BHGA ... Now hang gliding is just a shattered dream with needing both hips to be replaced at 70 😢 Homebound last eight years and watching flying vdos only 😢
I worked at ushpa for a few years but I’m not there anymore 🙂 I’m sorry to hear about your hips 😞 would you be able to do something like towed launches and wheel landings?

Not in a day, hang gliding is counterintuitive so it takes a while to learn to do it well
