I can say this with confidence and no bull shit, but I was up late one night and this is when "Trap Queen" was first introduced and it was on MTV Jams or something like that, and NOBODY knew who the fuck Fetty was, and I remember thinking "damn this song has a nice hook, this dude is different, what the FUCK is up with his eye"...and I wasn't a huge fan of his verses but the beat and hook were very memorable And I re-winded it a few times and the verses wore on me too. But I did like the shit but thought he was a no name that may have himself a nice radio single....literally what felt like a fuckin year later "Trap Queen" was THE SONG, and I really didn't think that many ppl would ever fuck with it like that...and I'll admit I did think he may just be a flash in the pan but he's proved that not to be the case cuz for 1) the guy can really sing 2) he's unique, NOBODY sounds like Fetty 3) his look is unique as well....like it or not this generation of hip-hop image is EVERYTHING, it's more important than the fuckin music, and I can say that with extreme confidence and give examples...Lil Yachty, the red hair, the odd voice, the unusual personality, that's his niche, Uzi Vert, same shit, crazy hair, squeaky unique voice, charisma comes right at you through the computer screen. Asap Rocky and the Asap Mobb, very stylish, a Harlem collective and artist from Harlem that sounds like they should be signed to fuckin Swisher House LoL...but Rocky has that personality and pretty looks, PAUSE, to add to his talent to make good hip-hop music....but back to Fetty 4) he has a great ear for beats...that is a VERY VERY underrated trait for rappers that many other artists lack, even the greats that had such great lyrical ability that it outshined the production, but NAS is a great example. Of course he has spit over some crazy ass beats, and Illmatic his taste for production was a HUGE reason that album is so revolutionary...he put together a fuckin ALL STAR group of producers for Illmatic, shit first ballad Hall of Fame producers!
