    What up is the long tool you are using to slice? is there anything you can use other than toothpicks?

    • @krazykoolcakes
      @krazykoolcakes  4 года назад

      The tool you see us using is a long straight blade. You can find the link to it in the description box underneath our video, or you can purchase at any craft store. You can use skewers if you want instead of toothpicks. I hope that helps and thanks for watching! :)

    How long do they take to dry because I made these 2 days ago and they are still soft

    • @krazykoolcakes
      @krazykoolcakes  3 года назад

      Thanks for your question. How long they take to dry is completely dependent on whether you used fondant or gumpaste (we only use gumpaste for our decorations) and especially what your work area is like. If you're allowing them to dry in a cool and dry environment (not warm and also free of humidity) then they will dry pretty quickly. Ours are usually rock hard in 2 days. If yours aren't drying then be sure to check your environment and be sure you're using gumpaste. If you used fondant, feel free to check out our tutorial on how we make gumpaste. It's super easy and quick. Hope that helps and thanks for watching! :)

    Hello Laura :)) ! Your cactus are sooo cute!!! I would like to try it myself :D Thank you for sharing your tips! I have a (stupid?) question..
    What are the ingrediens for making this very strong compacte pastry? :)

    • @krazykoolcakes
      @krazykoolcakes  3 года назад

      Hi Lo! Thank you so much! Glad you liked them. :) You're very welcome. It's our pleasure! Not a stupid question at all. Gumpaste is simply fondant with a powder named tylose mixed into it. It's a type of hardening agent. Check out our tutorial called "How To Make Gumpaste" and you'll see how easy it is. Your local cake supply should carry typos powder. We use "CAI" tylose (Confectionary Arts International). I hope that helps and thank you for watching! :)

    Hi! Gorgeous creations... Can I make these with fondant?

    • @krazykoolcakes
      @krazykoolcakes  6 лет назад +1

      Thank you Daisy! You "could", but probably won't come out as good. Gumpaste is much sturdier than fondant and doesn't crack and wrinkle as easily. Gumpaste is simply fondant with tylose powder added to it. Feel free to check out our tutorial on how we make gumpaste.

    Is gumpaste the same as fondant?

    • @krazykoolcakes
      @krazykoolcakes  5 лет назад

      Gumpaste is simply fondant with tylose added to it.

      @@krazykoolcakes 🤔🤔Mine held up just fine...I believe I added edible glue to the ends too...for added support.
