We had two of these on the field where I worked. One for skywriting. The exaust was extended till under the stabilo so the peanut oil wouldn’t make the wing fat. Best time of my life. Working in banner towing.

Beautiful. I got to go up in a demo flight in a B.T. 13 ( basic training 450 hp. ) it was similar and was too cool. Did mock dive bombing on a junkyard car lot and lots of other maneuvers.
Even got to stick and rudder a bit from back seat.
Those old radials are singing a song to me.
