JB Samzun - Fiddle
Charles Monod - Concertina
Vincent Fogarty - Bouzouki
From the album's sleeve notes :
“The Morning Lark” is a pretty common session tune in Clare and it also appears in O’Neill’s The Dance Music of Ireland as “The House in the Glen”. JB & Charles learned it from the playing of the late Kitty Hayes, and Mary MacNamara also recorded it on her album Blackberry Blossom. “Whelan’s Jig” is associated with Tommy Whelan, a flute player and member of the old Ballinakill Céilí Band from East Galway. Peadar O’Loughlin recorded this tune a couple of times, on an old recording with fiddle player Aggie Whyte and on the album Legacy with piper Ronan Browne. JB also associates this tune with the great Paddy Carty.

Love to hear musicians like this, not treating the tune like a race, just a lively bounce and well balanced !
Thank you so much for the kind words @siamterry, and glad you enjoy our music 🙏🎶💚 Best regards from Doolin ☘
Too many sessions have become 'pissing contests' who can get to the end of a tune first :
This one steals my soul !!

Hello from Milwaukee, great stuff lads! JB was here two summers ago for a few months and we had a chance to play a few tunes over that time. Hup!
Thank you so much Asher! That’s right JB told me he met some great musicians while he was in America as well! 🇺🇸🇮🇪🎶
Great playing lads. I discovered that the first tune is also called “the house in the glen” and is often paired with the Bohola jig
Thank you so much for the comment Stuart, great to hear you enjoy our playing! The Bohola is a great tune too, must post it on the channel sometime!! Are you a concertina player as well?
@@TunesFromDoolin no the whistle very badly !
