Commemorating the death anniversary of Baba Guru Nanak Devji. Here, Bhai Ghulam Muhammad Chand (1927-2015) renders a famous Shabad penned by Baba Guru Nanak ji , composed in Raag Aiman (Yaman) in an intimate session at my place in the presence of Ustad Naseer Uddin Sami on Delhi Gharana.

Too much fanaticism can ruin an ideology's spirit. Guru sahib would have never objected to them for not covering their heads. Where was this religious sensitivity when the Rababis were kicked out of India. The Gali Rabbabiyan in Amritsar had only the houses where these people lived. They only practiced their art all day long like a true exponent of tradition who were committed to their community and the panth. Guru sahib himself questioned rituals and negated them all through his life. And today these panthak people only see flaws and are paranoid and arrogant. Covering the head is a must when you are aware of the tradition. But when the whole family tree is shaken by the tragedy of partition, a huge part of memory is lost. But SUR, the ultimate truth remains and that I think is the purest form of life which is being celebrated in this video. So, I suggest that all those who are always looking for a reason to get offended must shut up and listen to the Bani and feel the emotions that these raags and poetry evoke. Rest is up to Akal Purakh, Allah, Parmeshwar to decide what the future of the sub-continent is. Enough violence has been committed by our minds and bodies let's not ruin this comment section with the same rigidity. Peace be upon him and his family. Je nahi kuch kar sakde te har jagah jaake negative comments karna band karo.

Gullak pratha ch dubbi hoyi thuwadi phoki sikhi. Guru de sacche Sikh ho te Gali Rababiyan Chon jadon kaddeya si Rababiyan Nu kutt kutt ke ohvi dass. Te Sacche Gyani Gurudev Nidar Singh Nihang Vargeyan Toh mafiname likhwande ho te zor zor naal gundeyan di taraf jaikare bulande ho. Thuuu hai aisi sikhi te. Sacche Sikh Singh Sabha waali sikhi toh bahar ne zara ohna lokkan ch vichar ke vekho thuwade naalon zyada sehajta te haleemi hai ohna ch. Sir ni dhakeya te pata nahi ki ho gaya. Prakash nahi keeta ohna ne guru Sahib Da. Loki gharan vich Bina sir dhake najane kinni waar guande ne. Je ohna ne gaa ditta te ki hogaya. Kamiyan kaddan toh ilava vi koi kaam karo. Baani nu samjho. Baani da adhar hi kirtan hai. Jo ki aaj kise vi gurudware ch ho hi nahi reya. Bollywood de gaane ga rahe ne ya fer shadaiyan vaang Wahe Guru Wahe Guru Wahe Guru Kari ja rahe ne. Damag Bhur gaye ne sabse jhede log asal gyani sige ohna nu galan kadd kadd ke tussi lanat pai te ohna ne vi kaam shadd ta. Sardool Sikander Sahab vi Mardane de Khan daan cho ne Master Saleem vi. Sardool Ji di zindagi ch bohot Vadd dukh si ke ohna nu kadi gurudware ch jaan nahi ditta kirtan Karan lai. Jadki ohna ne kadi meat sharab, cigarette nu hath vi nahi laya si. Saleem vi vegetarian hai. Kinne hi naam gina deyanga list khatam nahi hoyegi. Jao pehle apne SGPC de election sahi tareeke naal krwao fer ethe aao Wadeyan Nu kush bolan. For your information Bhai Ghulam Mohammad Chand Ji ne 3-4 waari Darbar Sahib ch kirtan keeta Hoya ee.

Stumbled upon this, and learnt about the rababi musical tradition of Bhai Mardana ji. As a student of classical music (sitar), this is very inspiring and fascinating at the same time, that a tradition is being continued till the present day. Please share any more recordings of Bhai Ghulam Muhammad Chand ji - I did see a snippet of something in bhairavi on Instagram, which was really touching. 🙏

THere is anotherutuberecording of Bhai Gulam Mohamad chand showing with turban and he also explained briefly about the shabad the lady in the green should have notified everyone about covering ur head at least person on the left has white cap. I think this was a just a genuine mistake. Respect from 🇨🇦
