This is my absolute favorite knife I EDC it ! Thank you WINKLER!! AWESOME JOB on all of the knives and I just love the sheath!
Amazing video man. As for everyone commenting on the price, I don't think you've realized this but this isn't your average survival youtube channel BlackScoutSurvival reviews an amazing array of good quality products and has solid, down to the point, no no bullshit tips. If you want cheaper, shittier gear the vast majority of so called survival experts out there on youtube can tell you how great a knife the Gerber Bear Gyrlls is. There is a reason why a bunch of SF guys trust Daniel Winklers knives and tools not because its cool but because it works. Cheers from a brother from the Great White North, keep up the good work.
+Richard Cook Thanks Richard, you get it! and i appreciate that!
Great review of a very nice knife made in the USA by a premier knife smith. This is what you get when you combine premium steel with master craftmanship. Thanks for sharing this. - Bryan
Thanks Bryan!
I've found the belt knife in 52100 carbon steel with a camo coating and 80CRV2 with a black coating but not CPM 3V and was wondering your opinion on which is better for survival applications in a woodland setting as well as tactical applications
I am a proud owner of this model of the TAD Edition Winkler knife. "Hands down one of the finest knives in my collect!" ;)
So how did it clean up after this use? DLC IonBond is strong and might clean up like new after what you did on the video. Curious.
I own two. I dont care about tactical titles. It is a new meets old. they remind me of a french trade knife.
I think the rubber is from horse stall mats. Mr. Winkler is a genius.
I have the TAD HD Winkler axe. The belt knife was not in stock when I bought it. I can't wait for a restock, the two make a nicely matched set.
Are you in the TAD Junkies group on FB?
Nice review!
I really want this! Would you say this is superior over winkler regular belt knife?
Amen bro. I love supporting American businesses when I can afford it. And you're right, the quality and performance you expect and depend on is there. But you gotta pay for it. I think now a days Made in America has a different meaning than before. In a use it and replace it world American made products stand out much more than the rest. It's a privilege to own a U.S. Product
That's actually the same jimping that goes on a lot of winkler knives and not added specially. Great video and review
Yeah, I just got a winkler hunting knife. Man oh man does that jumping hold on. First day working with the knife it grazed my thumb.
I know I commented on another video but this same thing but I was wondering if you could show us some good and roomy bugout /survival bags??
yeah man
Thanks : )
When will the patches be back in stock at the store?
within the next two weeks
How do you sharpen your knives?
Does it come with a 90 degree spine?
What kind of Jacket is that?
What knife did you carry when you were in the USMC if you carried one?
Alot of different knives but usually a kabar and a emerson CQC7B.
Winkler's customer service is great too! let me borrow an axe while mine was being remade
+Kazak Thranduil That sounds like a story I'd like to hear. Care to share?
+Rusty Shackleford tad edition axe folded when I used it because the heat treated wasn't done or done wrong. he sent me one to use in the mean time. very nice axe with wood handles. I used it hard.
Kazak Thranduil Wow, thats surprising.
Nice!
Thanks
Good review. TAD is pretty pricey. I'm sure the quality is there and it's America made but the cost doesn't seem practical for the majority of Americans. I like the review you did on the BK2 I believe. Kabar. The price is great and it leaves room in the budget for more preps.
BK2 isnt even in the same ball park as this knife.
BlackScoutSurvival I can't argue that. If I was going to buy one knife for the rest of my life then yeah, this would be a good option.
Is it full tang?
Average cost?
Thanks for the review.
+Sig Sauer Full tapered tang (better balance without sacrificing strength) around $350. You can get the non-tad version for slightly cheaper. It is a different steel (80CrV2) which winkler prefers. Hard to say if its better or not as both are fantastic steels. 3V has the "supersteel" connotation and is currently in vogue among the knife community.
anyone hear a typewriter in the background lol
Yup very annoying.
I think it’s the auto focus on the camera.
Hey. I am looking for a knife that can take Much absuse and damage.
Any tips?
SRK in CPM3V. Get one while you can
Very nice looking knife..
Thanks brother
Love black scout survival.
Love the winkler knives.
Absolutely hate TAD Gears insane prices. Will never buy from them again.
+croatoan777 TAD's price for that knife is about the same as Winkler's normal knives. But I'm with you, the prices for some of their stuff is absurd but I love the stuff I have from them.
These blades are awesome, but man the quality comes with a price
This is an American made product and price is a direct reflection of quality. It would be cheaper if they were to outsource production. But that takes jobs from Americans and hurts our economy.
TAD Swag everywhere haha. Is that a Ranger Hoodie?
Yes
Would be great if it was a inch bigger. Great video as always
An inch longer and a dollar cheaper. lol, nice blade though.

BlackScoutSurvival I agree, but not everyone can afford every quality knife that is produced. Maybe good for someone who doesn't own an expensive blade yet. Always enjoy a video on quality items though, thanks.
How come I didn't see the tip test like the gerber big rock? Afraid the tip might break on the $300 plus knife?
Chew Her no, if for some reason it did, Mr. Winkler would replace it or fix it I'm sure.
Yolp
sell it to me! been searching over 3 years..
Send me $3k. It’s yours
Making these knives is art and difficult, pricing on these is high but fair. Quality is superb.
Hardest part is begging the wife's permission to get one 😂
Upgrade camera please. Women after downing a grande cappuccino from Starbucks are quieter...
