I lost a close family member last year and Thanksgiving was always his favorite. He was also our pastor. He had stage 4 cancer for 4 years and God kept him alive. He’d like to say,”I don’t have cancer, I have God.”

Yeah my grandpa died last year. so did my grandma the year before that so that's been rough. (they were both sudden deaths) I feel ya! and i'm praying for ya.

I currently work at a hospital I watch that frustration from patients every day. It is something that hurts me just watching what they go through. I couldn't imagine what it's like being the patient. Prayers for your grandpa. I am sorry that you are going through this. Stay strong

My grandfather experienced the same exact thing and it was extremely upsetting to watch. However, my family prayed and prayed. Eventually, he got better and he is so happy.

I went through the same thing with my grandpa. A few years ago he had a bad stroke while mowing his lawn, and from there everything just got worse, and now he has dimentia. I know how hard it is for someone you love to change like that and to see them sad. He seems so sweet and you will forever cherish these moments with him and those sweet video clips.
My grandmother had a stoke a long time ago. I wasn’t born then, but she still can’t remember everything now. I’m so sorry for you and your grandfather.

My grandparents passed away recently from cancer and I struggle to find God in my every day life, but I know he is with us and with my grandparents. I had to resist tears because my grandpa passed away and holidays are a little hard and I hadn’t seen him for 7 years and hadn’t really kept in touch. I hope all is well with your grandpa 💗💗

I understand how tough this might be. My best friends dad had a stroke years back and he lost most of his memory and only remembers things before the stroke happened so he barely recognizes his family and friends. It was very hard to see him not recognize people or memories and see him get mad at himself because he knows he should know these things but doesn't.. its hard to see the good in situations like these but always remember.. Stay strong and trust that God has a plan for you and your family. I went through something similar with my grandmother and it was really hard for my family and I but knowing God was there for me made everything a lot better. It may be a really hard time for you and your family right now but just know that it will get better with time and faith. Also i struggle with being sad because my grandfather passed away almost 6 years ago and i didn't know what it meant to pass away because i was so young and clue less i miss him every dad just spend the most time you can with him and help him remember your names. love you the most!!! my grandpa has alzheimer’s and has been declining a lot recently. this thanksgiving was super hard for my family so i totally understand this. i’ll be praying for you and your family.
My dad has recently been diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease this year, so I totally feel where you are coming from. It is especially hard for me being gone from home because it is my first year at college. God has blessed us both with amazing families and it is incredible how God does his job.
I completely understand where your coming from. My grandfather had alzheimer, lost most of his memory, and quite often forgot my name and family names. The same way that you shared how you were with your grandfather is the exact same way I was with mine! I appreciate you sharing this personal moment and sharing that everyone is going through something in life!

Hi Jaclyn, I went through the same type of thing with my grandfather when I was about 10. He sadly fell down the stairs of his house and he then kept getting worse on from there. He then got Pneumonia and passed away. I loved him very very much. I miss him terribly everyday!! Keep the memories close and keep him close for as long as possible! I hope you get to spend a longer time with your grandfather then I did! Stay strong! 💓

Will pray for you and your family. Watching someone struggle is one of the hardest things you can ever do, I have been through it as well my dad had cancer when I was 6 and reoccurred 7 years later and I had to see him loose all of his dignity through that and loosing his personality. I don't know if that is exactly what you went through but I do know seeing someone you love in pain is emotional exhausting. I will put you and your family in my prayers. Keep believing and staying strong. Wish you the best!

I understand with your grandfather. My great grandmother has it to where she doesn't remember people as well but one of the people she has never forgotten is my great grandfather whom unfortunately died November 10 2018. We are still recovering after the funeral on the 16th. I thought u should know I understand and will pray for you and your family( especially your great grandfather) ❤️

i am literally crying. my grandma suffered from Alzheimer’s before she passed so i definitely understand. what i would do to have her back- i’d give the world. even now, years later i still get teary-eyed when i see the elderly. but i know i will see her in heaven some day and that’s what keeps me going. your grandpa will see and hear and remember all the great memories eventually. but for now just hug him a little tighter. ♥️ i will be praying for him!
