As some historical context, 7th Infantry Division was exclusive to wearing the scrim on their helmets. Not to mention on the Soviets they look like they’re fresh out of Afghanistan and are motor rifles.
@@gucci1131it'd be better to make it modern day because scaling it back to the cold war era with mods wouldn't be too hard. My biggest issue with reforger are the limitations when it comes to implementation of modern equipment.
@@kawasockeye It really sucks that a game set in the 80s comes with the limitations of the 80s. Why dont they make something fresh, like the 800 games with a future setting, i wonder.
@@KBKriechbaum First of all, no need to be a cynical pr*ck. The point I'm getting at here is that having a game with no modern tech whatsoever severely impacts how much and how easily modders can add new content. It's easier to restrict content with mods to make a cold war setting than to try to make a modern framework for mods on a game set in the cold war.
technically yes, and there are similarities, but quite a lot of differences it’s more like they just wanted to do some call backs rather than remake it.

The 82nd also used helmet scrim
I hope arma 4 keeps the same setting. The cold war aesthetic is gangster
It looks cool but you know Arma 4 is gonna be modern/near futuristic
no way they do two cold war settings back to back

@@KBKriechbaum would be really fucking funny if a4 was in the 60s/70s
it is simples.
USA: there be got dang COMMIES on this island!
USSR: there be ameerican cappytalists on this island!
It is not that simple, if you play the first flashpoint/arma game. It is basically same story to the first game .
@@contra7631 i was joking tbf. it's a "what if" the cold war in the 1970s-1980s went hot and even that is a super simplefied lore
I want single player so much. I think the 1989 theme is so epic wouldn’t change it
Gulf War Era, honestly I think is what ArmA 4 will be set in.
@ that would epic indeed
@@GamerGamer-o9u Think about it. All of this stuff in 1989, and what would've been right after?
Good to see you on Reforger!
Are you aware that AR is sort of a remake of the first arma game (Operation Flashpoint: Cold war crisis)?
There is a bunch of lore in that game.
It’s technically a remake but it’s mostly just a gimmick imo. There are definite similarities at least, and I intend to get around to the first game.
@95percentrookie You will be amazed how far we come. Like travelling back in time.
FINALLY A LORE VIDEO
At least it’s 80s stuff that’s cool and not quad nod operator tac tard stuff
p sure its just ment to be a rework of the first arma game
