Kyōjurō must've been by obanai's side when they were younger and they must've been good friends until shinjurō fell into depression and kicked him out. That's my reasoning. The ship isn't bad and the two have history together, they also have close ages as kyōjurō is 20 and obanai is 21. Nothing about it is weird nor strange. You don't have to like the pairing but please be respectful and mindful of all reasonable pairings!!
Ive never hears of RenOba, I might like it, but also Giyu, Rengoku, and Tanjiro are prob the most shipped people like RenGiyu, SaneGiyu, GiyuShino, SaneObaGiyu, Tanjiro x LITERALLY EVERYONE, Rengoku x LITERALLY EVERYONE
