Oh wow. My friend, where I grew up in coffee county Georgia, there are so many places I've learned of throughout the years from family that would blow your mind. There's a patch of words on the corner of an old dirt road where my grandma said there was a general store but it looks like woods. Down from that is an old cemetery with dozens of graves, where my Indian great grandmother buried her baby but the farmer just let the cows stomp it down. My mom showed me several old homesteads and I could see the rocks or corners of the houses but I had to walk deep in the woods. Oh so much!! Also there's a bare field in Ocala that my daddy took me to when I was little and there's one boulder that marks the entrance to an underground cave. He let us go deep into the cave that leads to an underground lake. It goes on seemingly forever. The walls of the cave are marked and there were like candle holders. You'd never know that was there. My aunt says it's still there in the middle of that pasture down from where my father's little brother is buried in a cemetery. There's several Indian burial sights where my uncle said he found jewelry all over the ground. And skulls were just strewn about. ( That broke my heart and the government doesn't care) . I think I'm the only one in my family who asked about these things and I like you, love to stand where those before me stood. History is addicting. Anyway, message me and I'll be glad to show you what I know. I can't stand to see these things just disappearing and no one bats an eyelash. ❤️
As a fellow member of the "never having found a silver dollar club", I was so stoked to see that giant coin with the reeded edge- thought for certain it was a Morgan or Peace $, but what you found is rather awesome as well- I cannot ever remember seeing one found, and in such great shape, especially given the condition of the two Seateds you dug earlier. Epic find, Huge Congrats!!
Awesome hunt, ive been looking forward to more from your Louisiana hunts. You definitely hit some great spots, the Panama coin is a cool find, I think I did the same thing when I found my 8 reale and kept going what is it, what is it. Lol
Awesome hunt and finds! Love your enthusiasm! This past November I had the good fortune to find an 1845 Half Dime. The little brother to your dime. I was near hyper ventilation like you!😂 Love your content.
Thanks, Ian! Appreciate you watching. I do most all of my detecting within an hour or two from Memphis, except when I hunt back down in Louisiana with my brother.
That's a thick coin!! I feel like the horse tack looking thing could maybe be a rosette of some kind? Ether way, those are all killer finds. That field is great!
Congratulations on an exceptional day of detecting. Farm fields have been tuff for me. If you get bored you could do a video on civil war travel routes and camp site reserch
I was wondering if you think those dimes might have suffered from the burning of the cane fields? Always appreciate you taking the time to share with the folks at home! Even though Germany is home currently and not Ville Platte. LOL
Thanks! This hunt was actually back up north near Memphis, but you def could be right, they do burn these fields at times as well. Appreciate you watching from Germany!
I’ve been in a bit of a silver drought lately. Half reale is the only silver I’ve found in the last 8 months! You had a great silver day. I did find a cartwheel penny (my first) rang up at 68 on manticore. Surprisingly that low for how big it is. Happy holidays
New sub here from central Massachusetts!! Great hunt, love that Panamanian silver dollar. I dug a Vickie large cent a while back that rang very low as well, low 70’s I think on my Deus ll. Anyway, what state are you from? Keep the videos coming, love the channel
Thanks for watching and the sub! I'm in west Tennessee near Memphis, but I hunt in neighboring states and a good bit down in Louisiana. Happy digs to you this year!
I found a key exactly like that two days ago, had no idea about a banjo tuner, so i sent a pic to my son (who plays and collects stringed instruments) and he said it is 100% a stringed instrument tuner
I'm still very new at detecting but I have a question, why are you able to find so many coins is a field? Money was so precious back then that I would have thought people would have been extremely careful with their money and would not have lost it so easily. I live in a pretty rural area of middle TN with plenty of hay fields but have yet to find an old coin. Any insight will truly be appreciated.
They didn't have much back then but you also have to think about the time they spent outside too. Everything was done manually and daily. Plus, most money back in the days was coins. I've found my oldest coins in old farm fields.
Most of the fields I hunt had an old homesite there at some point. I use old maps to find them. As far as why folks lost them, almost everything they did was outdoors, and most of the working class wore homemade clothes with no, or very crude, pockets. That's one of the reason you so often see holes in old coins, they were tied on a string to keep safe or even sewn into a piece of clothing. I'm betting there were some old sites in some of those hay fields near you.
Nice dime just dug 2 last week one totally worn one very nice I’ve found 3 Morgan dollars one was a spill with a walker half next to it! My pastor had just found a white sapphire gold ring minutes before!!! Just subscribed check out our hunts Dave Evers jr

Wow, that all sounds like great places to do some treasure hunting! Is any of the land owned by family?

Thanks! As you could tell, I was pretty excited thinking it was US, but still very happy with what it was. Appreciate you watching and commenting 👍👊
2:39 i would call a Concho off of a saddle. Saddle strings would go through the slots and could be used to tie things on to the saddle.
I think that's right. Thanks for the info 👍🏼
What excitement! Two seated dimes in one day and some amazing foreign coins. Congratulations!

My goodness brother, what a day! Congrats and thanks for sharing. This over in West TN? Middle TN here
Thanks, Ian! Appreciate you watching. I do most all of my detecting within an hour or two from Memphis, except when I hunt back down in Louisiana with my brother.

Much appreciated. And that's a great idea! Thanks.
Awesome video! I definitely thought that was going to be a silver dollar very unique find
Lol, me too, as you could tell! Thanks!
great finds!
The field that keeps giving! Do you know the history of the property since there was a variety of coins (Canada and Panama)?
I don't know anything other than it was old home sites, but across the road there was an old cotton gin. I'm assuming it was related to that commerce.
And thanks for watching Dave!
That field had allot going on with all those different coins, nice to find a place you can keep going back to congrats
Absolutely. Thanks for watching!
Really cool finds!!, Happy New Year!!
Thanks! Happy New Year to you too!
Sweeeeeet finds ❗💯👍🥇
Keep Swingin 💪💪
Nice day out....

Perhaps the fertilizer used on the crops have damaged these coins.

Wow, congrats on the cartwheel penny! I've never found one.
That's funny I found a slick Mercury dime last week that hit a 78-79 on my X terra pro. Usually 84-85 on silver dimes
Ive found 2 of those Canadian cents( I am on the Canadian border) I think they are bronze. Great finds!
Appreciate the info! And thanks!
That brass valve looks like a tap for a barrel or jug maybe
It could be, but it's awfully small to be one. I've never seen one this small if that's what it is.
Good fines
Thanks!
3 cent pieces were also known as a "trime"😊
Absolutely 👍 There are also 3-cent nickels, minted between 1865-1889. I've dug a trime, I've never dug a 3-cent nickel.
🇺🇲 Beautiful finds, luv to have a sticker...just sayin...Happy new year ...👊🤠
Thanks! Shoot me your address at idighistory00@gmail.com and I'll send you one 👍
Thanks Brother I'll be looking for it...
Barrel tap valve I think
I've never seen one so small. Did they use smaller ones?
The 1845 seated looks like it may be a contemporary counterfeit.
You should look into that if you’re suspicious, it doesn’t look silver to me .
It does have a slightly off coloring. I need to check it.

Hi:
Great video, BUT, how can we see your objects clearly while you are fumbling with them.
Lol, sorry! I'm usually better at keeping things in frame and in focus. Don't give up on me, I'll do better!
At 2:32 it’s a concho
Check out ...the treasure dog of maine..he gets crazy things on colonial maine beaches...
I found a key exactly like that two days ago, had no idea about a banjo tuner, so i sent a pic to my son (who plays and collects stringed instruments) and he said it is 100% a stringed instrument tuner

@IDigHistory you've been one of our favorites for a while now. We're in St landry parish.

I wanna go lol
Could that be part to a sword. The hand guard.
That's what I was thinking.
And you should go to Hancock county I go with you they are my people, melungeons
I know where Hancock county is! We lived in Picayune and Pearl River once upon a time!
I'm new to detecting can any one tell me how to get the old maps please
Sure! If you search thru my videos, between episodes 32 and 33 I made a tutorial on how to do it and use them.
Big silver, small silver I`ve yet to dig a 50-cent piece, something that big would scare me.
Yeah, I got a little carried away 😆
Nice dime just dug 2 last week one totally worn one very nice
I’ve found 3 Morgan dollars one was a spill with a walker half next to it! My pastor had just found a white sapphire gold ring minutes before!!! Just subscribed check out our hunts Dave Evers jr
That's unbelievable! I'd love to dig just one! I'll check your channel out. Thanks for the sub!
