Dialysis Fistula and Complications

A surgically created communication between the native artery and vein in an extremity is known as arteriovenous fistula (AVF). The AVF is the best permanent vascular access for dialysis treatment because it has longest survival with the least number of complications. The most common complications include infection, thrombosis, stenosis, aneurysm.
