Paul, I thought I was the only wiring nut, I am guessing you have a Power Probe. I have a Power Probe gen 1, I believe I had one of the first ones. I called owner 10+ years ago, what a great guy. Its the best tester I have ever owned, and I have lots of them, I have a Fluke but it sits in the box. I worked VW, Hondas, you could eat off my engines, call me nuts, I had the largest independant shop in Indiana, 7 hoists.( PS) my shop is sill open. over 10 hoists now. I wouldn't dream of doing wiring or finding shorts with out it. the new ones are Power Probe 3. If you don't have one, Amazon has for about 100 dollars, they are a more expensive kit. Don't get these, the kit has wire probes which puncture the wire, I don't believe in. If you can't get one I will get for you.
Impressive Edwin. Sounds a lot like the way I operate. When I was with GM I would love the challenge of wiring issues. You were into it big time! Cool. I've got a lot of Mac Tools gear, fluke... But never heard of Power Probe. If you say its good then that's good enough for me for sure. I'm heading over to Amazon to order one. I really appreciate the offer to help and the tip. Good stuff sir.
Hey Edwin. I got the Power Probe in last week. Don't know how I got by without it. It's the go to tool for me now. Just wanted to say thanks for the tip. Cheers. Paul
Bravo Paul, those pads are another excellent mod. I was think of bolting some kind of metal shoe or insert to the bottom of those things to make them bigger. But you're absolutely correct. I have to patch two holes in my yard every time I use them. You made a very functional mod. And at 5:19 you I think you were incorrect. You hinted to it not looking good. How can you say that. Your tractor looks awesome!! Enjoying your videos and tips.
Thank you very much. I'm glad to know someone else experienced the same issues I was having with the smaller pads. Your bolting a pad idea is actually pretty good. Could be a quick change type of thing. The one thing I do like about modding tractors is weight issue don't come into play so that's a good thing. At first I thought they looked a little odd after looking at the oem's for so long but now I'm used to them they look fine. Everyone who have walked by the machine don't even notice them. Thanks for commenting. Much appreciated.
Hit send to fast. Not sure if we, your loyal followers thank you enough. You should start a club called "The Loyal order of Pauls way of thinking" LOL. Seriously though it is unbelievable all the little things I have learned by watching your channel. Thanks again.
Great Work ! I really like the L.E.D. Volt gauge and will be looking into it more. Watch your video reminded what I was going to ask before and that is mirrors. I need to install mirrors on my L3800 so not to get ran over by a truck or run over a cars. I really like the ones you put on the BX. I also agree with Steve, I have a great Dealer but your work is so much better and you show how you did everything. It is Top Secret with the dealer or they forget fast.... Thanks Again
Thanks Jerry. For mirrors just head over to FleeBay and look at the Golf cart mirrors. They are the same as the ones on the BX. I came up with that idea last spring and everyone loved them. Ya I know what you mean. Everyone wants to hold their cards close to their chest. If I didn't want to share I wouldn't post videos. If I can help I will. Thanks for posting.
I hate that to you can't get the oem pads to bite especially when your digging up a stump or anything tough good mod I notice the same thing you look down and you can't even see the pads that's a great mod I'll be checking out how you made those for sure another job well done
Hey I'm just happy to know someone else experienced the same thing as I did. It was really bugging me so I had to do something. Just go to tractor by net and search for 4shorts and you'll find me ;)
Hey my buddy. Great hearing from you. I had to design something other than what was there. Just got tired of the OEM pads sinking all the time. Glad Kubota don't build boats lol. All the detailed photos of this build are on OTT. thanks for commenting. Crazy busy here these days but I'll see you over at OTT. Stay well my friend. :)
it only took me one stump I removed that I definitely felt the need to search for this video...the stock pad is not sufficient....I really like your design
Paul, great functional mod on the outrigger pads. Have you ever thought of cutting up an old tire to size & bolting it on the underside to prevent the blacktop from being gouged. I noticed a slight X-mark in your driveway from a previous outrigger landing. I really like your LED volt gauge, and you can see it in the daylight too! Kurt
Kurt I got a buddy of mine trying to get me some rubber so I can put them on the pads. It's been pretty busy in the shop so I never had time to get back at the pads but I will and post a video on it. Ya that volt gauge is a great unit. I have one for years on my GoodWing. Works great. Thanks!
Paul Short I kind of figured you would do that, but I was also checking up on you. ;-) I would put the volt gauge on my bike, but I don't have the room for it, it isn't a "Goldwing" it is a Kawasaki ZRX 1200R circa 2004. I would really like to have a idea at what my voltage is, plus my water temps. other than a idiot light. You Sir have a fantastic homestead there, also, you win with having all of the toys. Ha-Ha!
Ha. Nice to know I'm being checked on lol. Ya it's nice to know when your ride is charging. It's been said the guy that dies with the most toys wins. Not saying I'm going to win but I'm giving it a good try :) You got a nice bike! Ride safe.
Paul Short How many miles on your bike Paul & what year is it? I have almost 79,000 miles it would have been more, but the last two years have been too cold to ride in the Winter. P.S. Yup! You won with the most toys Paul!
Kurt my main bike is a 2003 GoldWing. Heavily modded lol but it is absolutely in mint condition. It has a custom tow along trailer but I don't get a lot of time to ride due to my work load. It has 36000 km's on it. I bought the bike new and really do enjoy it when I get out on it. www.flickr.com/photos/15602393@N05/12179597225/lightbox/
I am sure it is buried somewhere in here but I cant find it. How well do the bigger pads float ? Was going to do the same myself assuming they work better.
hey Paul id like to see a video of the kubota bx25 plowing snow great vdieos sometime what else modifications do you have on your 2 kubota does the bx25 have a snow bucket for industrail areas hope to see more videos for 2014 by the way im related to you so do you have anybody that works for you when i get my tractor licesnce if your looking for work ill come up and work for you
Hi Carter. your related to me! Hope your not some long lost son I didn't know I had ;) The BX25-D is really only used for the summer months. The only time it see's snow is if I take it out of his shed and brings it into the main shop to do more custom mods on it. Look at the other tractor videos I have on here and you'll see some unique things done to them. Keep watching, I'll have many more video's coming soon on the BX. You would have seen more snow clearing video's but in the last ten days we lost all our snow (101 cm's). Thanks for commenting and if you haven't already please subscribe.
will you think you wll be plowing again paul im related to you through my dad hes your nephew and you have other realitves ive subscribed to your channel great videos will yo have any new ones
Jacob Rankowitz I'll have to disagree with you. The mods I have done on our Kubota's don't even exist on the John Deere's the same size so every one of your dear Deere's would need these same mods done before I'd be remotely happy with them.
Paul how does the rubber pads do on the stabilizers? I mean I know they are for concrete and asphalt, do they hold ok on the ground? We have them on our backhoes at work because of that "asphalt and concrete" ours old pretty good on the ground, but they are really a very hard rubber. I was wondering how Kubota's rubber stabilizers do.. What do you think? Thanks for sharing....
I read someone's comments on here calling you Pau,l the MODFATHER and that should be on your grave stone,, BUT not for many years yet. I hope it sticks.
Good stuff Paul. I just have to ask with all the mods on your tractors that are far superior to what the factory does, have you had any feedback from Kubota. The backhoe pads look like a proper fit, what was Kubota thinking. If you have a chance check out Billstmaxx on the RUclips, he has been trying real hard to copy your Kwik connect for his JD backhoe. The key word is trying and if you look real hard there is absolutely no resemblance , he kind of built it backwards, crooked , and something that would never come out of your shop but I have to give him credit for trying and providing me with some entertainment, Bills a gem. Take Care Steve.
Thanks Steve. No Kubota has been pretty hush hush on everything I do. I figure its one of two things going on with them. Their either not impressed with what I've done or to embarrassed to admit they like it lol. I'm happy to hear you like our quality of work. My wife and I try really hard to get the design, the fit and finish as good as humanely possible, after all we are sharing it with the world. I've seen Bills channel. I think he's the guy in the graveyard? He's trying his best and he sure got a lot of interest in his work. As long as he's enjoying his time doing it that's all that really matters. Thanks for posting. It's great to hear what others think about what we do. ;)

Your more than welcome. Every day should be a learning day. If it's not then it's a wasted day ;). Thanks for watching.

Beautiful Craftsmanship Paul and Kathy.
Thank you and Kathy thanks you too :)
I missed seeing it on OTT but nice work as normal Paul. I think you have a winner with your new outrigger pads.

you are the mod master.
do you have a vid of the pad's construction, two thumb's up
John Ambro
Thank you :)
John Ambro
Don't think so but there's over 300 videos now so I don't remember.
Mr Short you have crazy fab skill's, own it. and enjoy, take care
it only took me one stump I removed that I definitely felt the need to search for this video...the stock pad is not sufficient....I really like your design
Keep em coming Paul
Sure will Joe ;)

Night and day. I'd never go back to those awful small pads. If you see them on my tractor it's for one reason only " they work"
+Paul Short I figured as much ehh. I will be doing the same as soon as I get my welder up and running.
Great video Paul!!
Thanks man. :)

Kubota s need so many mods because they come I'll equipped in stock form unlike John Deere
Jacob Rankowitz
I'll have to disagree with you. The mods I have done on our Kubota's don't even exist on the John Deere's the same size so every one of your dear Deere's would need these same mods done before I'd be remotely happy with them.
Oh just for starters the out riggers on a deere come larger in stock
Where did you take the front fender i have 3 bx tractor and would love to put fender on them
Thank
And i love your video
Mjrc Wow. I got those two years ago online. I'll have to look and see. Thanks for watching.

They are going on pavement and concrete. Terrible off those surfaces. I'd like to custom build a flip-able set for all surfaces.
Where you get the mirrors from
Hey Paul I'm from bay Roberts and was wondering if you can shave and re rover a dirt bike seat
Is that a working fire hydrant in your driveway?
It's a real one but just a prop. We have a cement dog we put by it in the summer months as a yard decoration :)
2:13 Probably not a 13/16" drill
Maybe 13/64":
You are correct. That's what I refer to as a brain fart lol ;)
I read someone's comments on here calling you Pau,l the MODFATHER and that should be on your grave stone,, BUT not for many years yet. I hope it sticks.

I would but we lost all our snow because of the rain for the last ten days :(
