Sticking Halbrand into season 1 was a really dumb decision if the writers wanted the audience to seriously believe the elves have no idea who or what he is supposed to be lmao. And making him into an elf is so stupid. They can't tell loooool? Tolkien never once specifically or even vaguely described Annatar as an elf at all, just an "emissary" of the Valar. They could have at least attempted to generate some more imagination into what Tolkien could have meant by that, but nah they just made him a man as an elf in disguise haha. They could have made this easier on themselves and not dug into a hole where their viewers now have to suspend their disbelief that the elves can't tell the difference between an authentic elf and some guy wearing a Scooby-Doo villain disguise. Who the hell writes this dumbassery? Go and watch any Star Trek episode where the human crew tries to disguise themselves as Romulans or Klingons, how bad and unbelievable they all look lol, and that's the kind of suspension of disbelief one needs here with Annatar lmao.
Look, I'm not saying you should like this show, but at the end of the day I enjoyed Season 1. I just loved being in Middle-Earth again and seeing all the different worlds, visuals and characters. It's a comfort food and I'm interested in seeing what happens next. And before you say I'm not a real Lord of the Rings fan, my favorite movie of all time is Return of the King. Make like Gollum on Frodo's finger and bite me.
@JB-wy8fc You know, it's funny. Everyone says this show isn't what Tolkien would want, but whether it is or not, I'm pretty sure he also wouldn't want fans gatekeeping each other based on their likes and dislikes. I shouldn't be excluded from one of my favorite franchises (and as mentioned already, my favorite movie of all time) because I enjoy something that isn't even canon, nor should you for not enjoying it. Please recognize that we're both human with differences and leave the gatekeeping to Mordor - literally.
Oh gods, not this AGAIN. Hasn't Tolkien suffered enough???
I. CAN. NOT. WAIT. . .to never watch this garbage.
Can't believe this got a season 2
Damn i cant wait ......🎉
Looks ok..
But season 1 was a travesty so i'll pass.
Maybe in 3-4 years when im bored.
I just want Orcs and big battles...
